I got an XDA II from my dad, it had to charger. So, I got one off of eBay for all of £3.50. Within 10mins of it been connected it blew up?!?! I am being deadly serious, it actually did.

So, after getting my money back etc, they did not want their old unit back. So, I thought i may aswell put this to some use while my new charger (from a diffferent place) was delivered. So, I snipped the connector with some wire attached, rigged it up to a USB connector (As below) and there we have a nice DIY USB Charger.

The pinouts are as follows:
- (GND) Pin 4 on the USB
Pins 16,17,18 on XDA Connector

+ Pin 1 on the USB
Pins 20,21,22 on the XDA Connector

Its charging away quite nicely now, but I shall report back on the actual rate of charge because from what I gather the output of a USB is 100mA whereas the charger had an output of 200mA.

Hope you find this useful :)

no usb provide 500mA to share for all usb devices connected to the port
unless a powered usb hub is used in which case every port in the hub provide 500mA

Ah, Its going through a USB 1.1 hub... which has no external power.
Though, today.. my replacement arrives. Thanks for the help though, the information about the web is a bit vague.
