Is there a way to sync contacts without activesync?
If you know, please answer soon! I'm going on a 3+hour trip tomorow and plan to upgrade my HTC wizard/ unlock it, and have all the files, except I can not sync my contacts.
Thank you so much!

From your pc:
Make an export of your contacts in Outlook to a csv file.
To your pocket pc:
Use PPCPimBackup (see details here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1189061) to load the csv file (rename it csc) and restore the contacts...

To your pc:
Import the csv file (rename csc to csv) into Outlook.
ps.: PPCPimbackup creates a pib file which is a zip file, so extract the contacts csc file from pib when backup is done. Do not select binary backup on the options dialog if you want to have a csc file

I'd like an alternative, too.
We're on Outlook 2000 for the next year here at work (corporate image, no chance of it changing) and so I can't run a WM6 device, as WM6 needs Activesync 4.5 which doesn't work with Outlook 2000.
Any alternative, or a bodge to get AS4.2 working with WM6 or AS4.5 with Outlook 2000, would be very interesting...!

Thanks so much for the quick answer! On the trip I was able to back up my contacts, and then proceed to unlock and install Mobile 6 ^^All done today on the road, unlocking and flashing twice on one battery, and then flashing Mobile 6 and installing other programs on the other.
