I remember seeing a cab that fixes the battery drain problem for WM6. Ive been searching and searching but couldn't find it. The search tool on the forum is useless at finding what i want. can anyone link me to that cab? I just want to try it on my T-mobile Wing cause the battery drains like crazy.

I think the only fix that was posted was the SD card power managment disable thing - the .CAB was called 'sd-battery-save.cab' and contained the registry settings:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\SDCARD\ClientDrivers\Cl ass\SDMemory_Class]
"DisablePowerManagement" = dword : 00000000
I could be (and usually am) wrong.....

another thing is some apps that you might have may cause your battery to drain also. I.e. batterystatus, push mail, some weather apps. pretty much anything that keeps you wizard busy by connectin to gprs or updating constanly things like that. so play with your apps do a little test. I actually have that power saving cab. ill upload for you when I get home, but in the mean time try some of those things I meantioned.

from my experience:
1. 318 OS ver is the best for power
2. push mail (exchange or live) and constant weather update using gprs will very fast drain battery. For example: i just use exch mail with push my battery will last 1-2 days if i change from push to check every 5 min i get o extra day...
3. batterystatus: using it i get around 10-15% faster drain but a lot of improvement in speed :D
there are 2 cabs out there one is something like HTC power management and another is the above SD battery fix.

I am running wm6.1 ajc2003s build....5.2.19521. The battery life is stupendous!! I have my device steady overclocked at 286 running a bluetooth WMP stream for a good 3hrs in the morning w/ calls. My gprs is always connected. I run spb mobile shell, pocketCm, opera mini, ms voice command 1.6 w/ bluetooth support, my battery has been about 65-70 % remaining after being off the charger for a good 9 hrs with good use on it. Ask me about a batt fix.....this ROM is the ultimate batt fix!! Oh yeah i forgot to mention this ish is FAST.....windows directory in explorer, fully loaded and skinned....FAST!! :D

Look up " HTC Power Management cab" it usualy sets up everything to save power.
However I agree about AJC rom. I'm using it right now. the battery does not go down to 50% since I installed it. I was on an 8hr bus ride from NY to PGH and used GPRS most of the time only then it went down to 51% with very heavy usage.:p

What is meant by this? If it's missing will it cause your battery to drain down quicker?
I installed this XM6R5 and my battery is draining quickly. My ExtRom is empty - I deleted it thinking I would free up more memory. Did I mess up?
If I install an OEM rom again and then my XM6R5 rom and preserve the ExtRom would this fix the battery drain or should I just apply the two can files listed earlier on?

look for an empty ext rom and flash it, that clears out your extended rom which can cause battery drain issues.

I had a huge battery drain issue after a ROM upgrade a few months ago. I bought a new battery but it was the same.
I applied all the registry fixes but didn't notise any big difference.
The thing that increased(restored) my battery life to normal was to fully drain & fully recharge the phone 2-3 times.

Does any have a blank Ext Rom or know a link to one? All the links I have found point to the ftp server but no longer exist.

had found this tweak and I must say it gave my battery new life... also noticed this tweak is already in the advanced configuration but set to disabled...
enabled this tweak and found my wizard to be doing an excellent job of extending the battery life to as much as 3days standby now... hehe!

REVIVING AN OLD THREAD...
I think my battery is getting old...well I am pretty sure it is.
I have NTS's Jag rom in which I really LOVE, never ever had battery drain issues. Have both power saving cabs installed. A few days ago my charger went bad, had to take my phone in for repairs. NOW my battery drains to almost empty in about 3 hours. I have ordered a new battery, but could take up to a week to arrive. I let the battery fully empty before re-charging, as sometimes works...still dead within 3 hours.
DOES ANYONE HAVE SOME TRICKS TO HELP ME NURSE THIS ALONG UNTIL MY NEW BATTERY ARRIVES? Something that doesn't involve flashing a new rom...
Thanks in advance.
PS-- I have HTC Home on it, which is my only really major app that runs constantly. I've made sure just about everything else is off, and I've dropped my clock to pretty minimal. If I use wifi or BT my charge drops even faster, so I keep those off unless absolutely needed.
