Iīve seen a Link to the (original?) WM5 Rom from HTC in the Wiki...

My German Herald is bricked by now, maybe it can be brought back to life until WM6 is released ?

Did anyone try (Iīll post my experience)?

Yes i posted it;) but i do not know if it is original. Try please, i can't try it, device is also bricked, but CID-locked to Dutch version, Can anyone provide me with the dutch RUU btw??

Now i can give Asergīs rom a try - or wait until HTC provides us with the new WM6 rom by the end of July, JIHAA !

the rom is from january 2007, radio is 2.79 as far as i know...


will edit it soon to be complete !!

I don't need Vodafone crap:p I bought my Herald at BelCompany, it is unbranded;) No vodafone stuff for me:) it's just my operator. And I did not find any new ROM's, but i'm still searching

I must say i am very content with the O2 Terra Rom !


Works fast and stable ;)

For me the same as the dutchman bought it at bel company vodafone only operator but it isn't branded...

Bricked mine to, and no those damned people at htc delayed it AGAIN!

Mine is in need for a Dutch ROM aswell. If I know how to extract a ROM from a Herald (if possible)

It's eay to extract the ROM, but you can't do anything with the dump, there's no way you can flash it yo your device;)

mijn Herald werkt ook niet meer.
heb wel de deense RUU
alleen die geeft aan... ERROR [294]: INVALID VENDER ID
een andere RUU kan ik niet vinden.
heb ook al de 6.0 geprobeert en die komt niet verder dan 0%
erg jammer.'
hoop dat snel de WM 6 uitkomt voor Vodafoon.

Hello Folks,
is the german RUU still working? Anyone except Meisterlampe2000 who tried this RUU? I want to update my p4350, but i`m a little bit sceptical.

You can bring your device back to life with this upgrade IF your device comes from HTC named "P4350".

The T-Mobile Wing and O2 Terra donīt work with it, but unbranded HTC devices do ;)


I donīt know if it ever was an official rom, but i could unbrick my Herald with this. I also noticed that this rom must be a old one, because my very first WM5 was a little newer.

Go and have a try, and upgrade to WM6 as fast as possible, if you can do the trick !

thanks for the fast reply. My P4350 isn`t bricked (btw I got mine from E-plus too) I thought it would be a later version, because of the ROM-Version-number. Mine is 1.8.407.1 - 5.4.407.1 sounds a little bit better. So you think I should leave it, as it is and wait for WM6?

Sorry: fast fingers / slow eyes ;) -> I'm a newbie - so I have to wait for the official one :( - to much risk for me

Would someone please give me an alternative links to this German Rom file?
I bought my P4350 from German, still, I cannot seem to be able to access this link.
I'm quite positively sure that this file would unbrick my phone.
So, help me please. I'm begging you!!

I can't see your problem, because this link still works perfekt, as i tryed today!

Have you entered the letters from the picture? Any virus scanner active?

Yes it does work. Soon as I finished filling those letters, it came back to the exactly same page, with pop-up about flirt... something. I tried disable anti-virus, change the browser,clear cookies...muffins...milk, change operating system, try to access from PSP and PPC, none does work.
If you have any suggestions, please do advice me. Thanks anyway.

All language Herald ROM's, it is WM6, but that does not matter for unbricking,
as long as you choose the language that was officiallt on the device
