Hi Guys,
I ran into the same problem as some other people on the forum when trying to CID unlock my athena using the CID unlock software in Vista.
I had previously run into the same issue when trying some RUU version in vista as well.
Basically using RUU (older versions) and IMEI-CHECK cid unlocker in Vista fails.
This is because when the phone enters bootloader the driver that is installed in vista doesn't get recognised by theese tools.
I do have a fix however.
Here is how to do it:
1. Download and unpack the archive provided and unpack to your favourite location.
2. Put the phone in bootloader mode and plug it in to your comp. Vista will install the drivers.
3. In device manager find the device, right click it and select update driver.
4. The trick here is to select "Select location from list" and then point the wizard to where you unpacked the drivers.
5. Install the new PocketPC driver.
Voila.
IMEI-CHECK and older RUU tools will now work in vista.
Hope it helps someone out there at least......
Cheers
