Can somebody confirm that this unlocker v3 can be used on an x7501? Mine is sim unlocked by provider code so I presume that I only have to do step 1. (after removing storage cards and charging battery etc.).

Is the next step then to upgrade the radio or can i immediately install a rom such as: MichyPrima presents: ROM WM6.1 WWE 1.88F MiChY (Update 1/08)?

Reporting blackscreen issue.

I have X7501, using Version 3.0.

My device was already unlocked, so I just completed step one to get Hard-SPL.

After flashing, I get a blackscreen with green led around the d-pad. Soft reset, factory reset, taking out the battery for 30 min all have no effect.

I can get to bootloader and it says:

ATHE100
IPL-v2.02
ATHE100
SPL-v.1.20.Olipro

So it looks like HardSPL was installed. Yet, I get the blackscreen.

From reading this thread and others, Olipro seems to be saying that all I need to do is flash any ROM to get my functionality back. Is this correct?

Sorry to be such a pussy, I just don't want to do something unrecoverable.

Don't do that man. The unlocker was not made nor tested on the newer 16GB devices. This could brick your device. Keep the stock unlocker on there and hold off. Currently there are no immediate plans for an unlocker but i'm sure someone will get around to it.

AP4 will only go if he has it in windows mobile.

so anyway... just flash any rom that is compatible with SPL 1.2... that will work

afterwards can flash AP4 too :) but the OS must be bootable first to get that working,

ltxda is correct, that might brick it, old SPL wasn't tested at all on new x7510 (or ameo 16GB).

but that SSPL won't let it flash anyway, because it cannot read out the modelid of the new ameo.

Dot .net 2 refers to your desktop computer
I havent unlocked for a long time but used windows XP.
Apparently the newer version referred to is more foolproof and problems mainly occured with the X7501.
I reread the thread once for fun to see why Olipro was so impatient with people and I think his annoyance was understandable.
i suggest you do have a read of at least the first half of the pages to get a feel for what people were doing wrong.
I think this will give you a lot more confidence that any mistakes can be retrieved.
also take the time to read the wiki

You have an X7510, the unlocker for this model is still in development stage. Search for news in x7510 section!

Hi all, I'm fairly confident that I know what to do now so I'm gonna bite the bullit when my ameo arrives tomorrow.
Just 1 thing, olipro states that after step 2 you must IMMEDIATELY configure the ameo. Is this just the simple configure like when you turn it on for the 1st time or is it more complicated (internet setup etc...)?

It was a breeze once wm6 was on, it don't seem to like wm5.
Note to other noobs an official Ameo WM6.0 ROM found http://uploaded.to/?id=wbbw2u (this includes the uploader which is where I had issues)

I have a Dutch Ameo with a fresh new rom from michy, all unlocked and everything.

Unlocking went great with my device.

The problem is my uncle has original HTC X7500 Dutch.
I downloaded everything i need for the unlocking procedure, but with al my good efforts, the X7500 died on me!!!! (and it sucks)

It didnt complete the first step, the unlocker gave me an error and the message that the SPL didnt flash.

I tried to do a hard reset, and thats the moment it died on me.

HELP!!, i left the batterout all night last night and it still doesnt goes into bootloader mode.

Is it dead or did leave something out that i can still try??

Wow ..... finally I got it done.

Although my Dopod U1000 was sim unlocked, I still selected sim unlock and CID unlock and everything completed fine.

Been trying to use Unlocker app on my laptop running Vista...weird thing is that Unlocker app says that step 1 completed successfully, yet when i check bootloader screen after process completes, it said SPL-v1.10.0000. So, kept retrying, but same thing...

Finally, after several attempts, hard resets, and even recovering from black screen of death using ATHE_WM6_X7500_flasher and then retrying Unlocker again, I now show on bootloader screen SPL-v1.10.RP00.

But then got black screen again.... :mad:

Now, when I try using ATHE_WM6_X7500_flasher again to get a ROM back on my X7501, it goes through install process with seeing progress bar, but this time I get an Error [294] INVALID VENDOR ID message says I can't use this update utility with this device....

My X7501 is black screen and I can't turn it on except that I can get into bootloader screen or hard reset screen and do hard reset, but then it's black screen again and now there's a green glow lit up around the joystick.

Any suggestions please??????

What does the rest of the bootloader say

 ERROR [242] : INVALID LANGUAGE
 ERROR [244] : INVALID MODEL ID
 ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID
 ERROR [296] : UPGRADE ONLY

One of these error messages will appear when you use the wrong RUU to do the upgrade. RUU will check if the Model ID and Language ID are compatible with the device. Make sure you use the appropriate RUU tool to upgrade

As I noted, it gave me the ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID message....

To be clear, I was only trying to use the ATHE_WM6_X7500_flasher as a means of recovering and being able to re-install on a ROM on my borked X7501 AFTER having the problem from using Athena Unlocker app.

The weird thing is that ATHE_WM6_X7500_flasher worked the first time this happened (even though I have a X7501) and then I tried using Unlocker again and got the black screen one more time...so, thought I could recover again the same way....

Just tried ATHE_WM6_X7500_flasher again and now I get a Error [260] Connection message....cannot connect to your PDA phone....also, when I plugged in the USB cable into laptop it said it found a new unknown device and did install something for it...

Is there a way to tweak ATHE_WM6_X7500_flasher to recognize my X7501?

Or is there another version I should grab to use instead?

Just tried another recovery tactic per the Athena wiki regarding using SD card, but so far no go....nothing seems to happen....just stays stuck on bootloader screen with no change apparent even after several minutes...

Rename the .NBH file to ATHEIMG.nbh and copy it to your miniSD card. Press camera+com manager+soft reset to bootloader and wait for reading ATHEIMG.nbh from SD.

OK, finally, got a ROM back....whew!.... :rolleyes:

Here's what I did...maybe it will save someone else the hours of aggravation that I just went through on this....

1) I decided to eliminate the variable of running Vista in this process...so, created a new partition on my laptop and installed XP to use....

2) I downloaded and ran the HTC official X7501 ROM file and voila! it worked!

So, next step will be try Unlocker again running it in XP and see what happens this time.....

I was fighting today with friend's Athena - polish operator ERA Ameo, trying to get the simlock removed. I did it about 18 months ago with mine without issues so I didn't expect any troubles. Unfortunately setting it to SuperCID went flawlessly but I had troubles with simlock. I did it and would like to share mine experience because I saw many questions about it.

After completing first step (flashing SPL) and flashing patched radio followed by hard reset, when Athena Unlocker application launched on the device I choosed just to remove simlock then closed the unlocker and run it again (you can find it in the root directory of the filesystem). This time I selected only setting SuperCID then closed application and followed the instruction on PC. Do not forget to complete third step. I hope it will help other users, perhaps someone could explain it better and put this information either to first post of this thread or even make another sticky about simlock. It is not worth to pay to get something what could be done free of charge!

i Have a T-mobile SDA II. I have unlocked it. Now the earpiece is having a problem. I gave it to a repairer and he did it. but after that the keypad freeze. Only key 1, 5 and 9 are now working. I openned the phone and realize that the wires that connect the keypad to the mainboard got torn a little. I gave it back to wire the wires. The repairer did it but the keypad is still frezing. Is it a software problem or Hardware problem. Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try taking the SD card out of your Athena. Also see if you can go into Bootloader mode and confirm if anything has changed on the device.

I have htc advantage x7500, and I unlock it with unlocked tools, i upgrade it to ap4, it was work perfectly....but have one big problem that micro drive always miss data, but I don’t care for that and bought 8g memory card,
but after 2 weeks work in ap4 and suddenly the x7500 hanging and lose all contact and all message, i try soft & hard reset but not useful, am trying to downgrade to original rom but after downgrade the device hanging to and do many restart,
Now I take it to warranty and they told me that I tiring to unlock the SPL and they will try to lock it again but may be I lose the motherboard.
Now I don’t know what can I do. And I need your advice

But I had run all the 3 steps successfully, but the SPL of my U1000 still stay in SPLv1.1 but the v1.2 as you mentioned.

Just wonder whether this is normal or is a problem that someone may come across ?

well, after upgrade failure, reinstall the original rom and tried with the unlocker again, it finally works and upgrade to SPL1.2 and radio 1.50

It needs to go to bootloader does it? A prompt or two comes up on the screen of the athena to allow the non signed program to run, ect. But then, it goes into bootloader. Which is fine, but activesync disconnects. I'm using windows seven, and a x7500 athena with 1.1.00000 spl

no, as far as I'm aware, the HTC RUU won't work under vista without some jiggery pokery, no idea if rapi works either.

I got it to vork on vista [I]and[I] seven. Probably compatibility mode.

Although a bit late Michy's WM 6.5 roms need SPL 3.5 not 1.20.

You must first use AP4 to upgrade SPL to 3.5 and then you can flash any SPL 3.5 rom as usual.

Hi I am wondering how can I tell which Unlocker to use since there are few I can choose from which some of them need donation (Raphael Unlocker,Blackstone Unlocker,Topaz Unlocker,Rhodium Unlocker) and the others are free (Hard-SPL, CustomRUU, Athena-Unlocker/Hard-SPL and Cheetah-Unlocker/Hard-SPL).

Guys i did the above as required to unlock the phone and it now wont let me install anything please team some one Tell me how do i go back to original flashing..

Dear All,

I am trying to unlock my T-Mobile Ameo I bought second-hand.

I ran the unlocker and got a black screen after step 2.

I then flashed the Athena_WM6_TMUK_2.35.110.4 ROM via the bootloader. It started up and connected to Activesync fine. I ran enablerapi.cab and tried to unlock again. I got an error 202.

Then I flashed the Athena_TMOB_005 ROM, ran enablerapi.cab and tried to unlock. I still get the error 202.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I made some more attempts and finally succeeded unlocking the device.

The key was to ignore the 202 error for step 1 of the unlock process and go on with step 2. From that point everything went smoothly.

please i need an immediate help,i just downloaded the AGB v2.10.1 and i installed it in my htc x7500 after cid unlocking the phone with athena unlocker now my phone screen is completely black,and because am desperate to get my phone back i have tried installing different roms but nothing works all i get is the invalid vendor thing and now the phone is stuck at bootloader please somebody help me

You are in the wrong place, AGB v2.10.1? this is the Athena unlocker thread!

the best bet is to put it into the bootloader mode and check your spl,etc. If it says Olipro or Olinex it is already unlocked.....also make sure of your spl before flashing. You don't want to flash the wrong one.....

WTF :mad: . I payed for a unlock and I am getting a message saying that I used it already. I could not install Active sync on my windows 7OS. So I tired it in windows XP (dual boot on the same laptop.) I tried using the unlock on windows xp but I got an error saying that my location changed. but I am still using the same Laptop. just a different OS. I send in a ticket 6 hrs ago and I not getting any replies. :mad:

Hello all!
I have a Ameo 16Gb, and i don´t get it unlocked.
I want to use my WLAN to connect it to the internet, but he always want to use the simcard from the provider.
He say it couldn´d be changed, its fixed.
I used Windows7 on my pc, and when i start the unlocker i get a warning that a program will try to change settings of my pc....
Is it right to start the unlocker on my pc, or must it be started on the ameo??
Couldn´t see it on the video....
Sorry, if this question was ask somewhere here before, but i couldn´t translate and read 57 sides of this thread...
I am not very good in english, so i hope you understand...
Is here somewhere a "german how to unlock" ?

Hi all
I have x7500 mobile and I read all of this theard
I see that more than one person have the the same case as me and no one reply them
I follow this steps:
1- flash spl (successeded)
2- unlock radio (have the black screen)
3- insall wm 6 (successeded)
4- flash spl again (successeded)
5- unlock radio again (successeded)
6- flash normal radio (successeded)

but after all when I insert a different sim card I get a message said " you have tried 11 times please wait" which request code

I knew that the problem where that I must remove the sim card from phone before using the programm

Hi everybody and excuse me for my inexperienced post. I past the last 2 days to read everything on this cell unlocking procedure and before find this forum the only thing I did was to asses 1 failed try with a code bought on internet. This unit is coming from UK, and it apparently worked well with other carriers sim cards than T-mobile from there, but once here in Canada, the phone asked for a code. The one 1 bought, once entered, disappeared and a message told me there are still 4 codes tries to enter. I read here something about the unlocker for Ameo etc. but I am afraid I can't afford some other fails in order to not brick it. I would gladly donate here seeing the exerience you get withn these devices. It's a 6.1, with customised T-mobile stuff. I would prefer to get the REAL code, or get a step by step guide in order to patch it on internet (medium experience). Thank you a lot for your time rc

maybe you have not installed EnableRapi.cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=36325&d=1175416351) on the device before doing so

Can anyone please help? I got some problem establishing an activesync connection with HTC Ameo, Tmobile locked. Here's the case:

I use win XP+SP2, Activesync 4.5. Activesync connection has been working a few months ago but now it isn't. I connect the HTC, the system recognizes it, the green arrows go around for a while, then the message: "Activesync cannot connect the windows mobile powered device. To troubleshoot problem, click ok." And the same time HTC says: "This device is not allowed to connect to the desktop computer."
In the device manager i can see 'Windows CE devices/HTC USB sync'

-I clicked ok to troubleshoot, everything was ok but it didn't solve the problem.
-Tried fiddling with 'enable advanced network functionality' - no good whether it's on or off
-Reinstalled Activesync 4.5, also tried 4.2
-Turned off firewall, virus software
no use.

T tried to connect today this HTC Ameo to a different PC, 64bit, win7 + windows mobile device center 6.1. Same results. The HTC writes out that it is not allowed to connect to the desktop PC. :mad::confused:

Any suggestions?

The 3rd day of my struggle with the HTC: i tried on my friend's laptop, (Windows 7 64bit, windows media device center 6.1, firewall off) and still the same: "This device is not allowed to connect the desktop computer". So by now i'm sure that it is something up with the ameo. I will try the bootloader menu when i'll have some time.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
