ok if you look at all smartphone forums there you'll notes there all
trying to get wm6 on there smatphones eg:- Tornado,StarTrek,Hurricane
so is there any way we can get wm6 on HTC Monet
could we flash a wm6 os.nb say from fox but with are xip
would that work or is there any other way

no but i read some were that the monet was the same as the Tornado just with the dab stuff added

DO NOT TRY TO FLASH ROMS FROM DIFFERENT PLATFORMS, you may brick your phone.
If you have supercid , try this:

it's only the OS module of a modified version of WM6 from Tornado, without SPL, IPL (bootloader), etc. so it will not brick your phone, even if the update stops. if it's not compatible, it will just destroy your os which can be flashed back very easy (if you have supercid), otherwise you have to do extra stuff..

PS: i don't know how to supercid/sim unlock monet. don't know if spv-services (the app for supercid & simunlock) is compatible with this.

sorry for my stupidity/total lack of knowledge but where can you get supercid (have searched but cant see anything obvious) and are you saying that I can try the RUU ? And what is the correlation between RUU and supercid and simunlock (and why do i need them). I could really do with an FAQ /noobie guide, can anyone point me to one??

then remember if any thing goes wrong then you wont be able to get you lobby back because virgin haven't realest a rom upgrade for it

does anyone have a stand-alone app that can be used for the DAB radio on the monet? I wouldnt upgrade my monet if it meant losing the DAB functionality...

dt_matthews, you could easily extract the TV Dab application from the lobster if the WM6 update works.

What an interesting idea though, I remember the doctor telling me that this theory may work as he was going to extract the OS from the Tornado and flash it on the Hurricane but never got round to it.

I will ask him on msn he if thinks this should work.

wicked, cheers dude, that would be great to know as i love the DAB and coldnt do without it but would love to get my monet running wm6 ;-) any info/guidace massively appreciated!

Sorry I never got back to this.

It's a no go, apparently you cannot just flash the OS section from a different device.
