hello everyone!
i was wondering, if the blue angel is outputting a real stereo signal via the mini jack or if it is just a mono signal on both headphone spekaers.... i once read something like this, cant remember where, cant say if its true...
does anyone know?
btw: whats that strange connection around the minijack for?
thx in advance!

BA has stereo sound output for sure! I have made my own 2.5 jack to 3.5 jack wire, so then I connect headphones from player I can hear for sure that sound is stereo :) Don't try to create This wire by your own, better ask me, and I'll post photos how it could be done. Anyone is interested in creating wire?
PS: You can modify 2 ears-headset, from mono to stereo by shortcutting the diode (black* little square inside headset plastic box). Disadvantage: headset can't be used for calling anymore.

hi guys!

Well, with the 2.5 to 3.5 adapter I'm now using it most definitely does have stereo. On my hypnotherapy tape Paul Mckenna verbally identifies the left and the right ear, so I used that to check, and I don't think I'm tripping.
Not that I wish to contradict 'The Guy'.

i bought an adapter from hama (2,5mm to 3,5mm), but it is still not working... i only get a mono signal in one earplug... sucks big time!!
anyone knows, if the SENNHEISER MM10 (http://www.sennheisercommunications.com/comm/icm_eng.nsf/root/500737?Open&print=) would work with the MDA 3 ???

The sound is stereo for sure. I cannot recall any Pocket PC without stereo sound output. At Tech support they don't know what they are talking about.
Try looking for old Motorola earphones (i.e. for MPx200) it has the same connector scheme. The usual 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm adaptor won't work, use the Motorolas one. BTW: Scheme is in wiki's general section.

i have modified the original earphone (cutting and soldering) however, if you don't want those nasty work, just simply buy the original motorola e398 rokr earphone, good quality sound..

@ krishan2207 & evoluzionne:
thx for your answers!
do you think, you could describe how you fixed/modyfied your adapter/earphone?
maybe you have pictures? or some kind of tutorial?
this would help lots of people, i guess.....
@ evoluzionne:
are you refering to THIS (http://www.hellomoto-shop.at/lshop,showdetail,1190195858-11705,o,1190195947-11925,accessoires.e_serie.e398.headset,CFLN1424,,1 0Tshowrub--accessoires.e_serie.e398.headset,.htm) headset? do you know, if the SEND/END button is working?

yes... (the send and receive button works) that's one.. good quality sound both bass and treble, vocal clarity, however it doesnt have volume dial, you should set the volume from your music player applications..
about the modifying of the headset you could just find it in the link below..
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=handsfreethatdoesntsoundlikecra p
of you just dont sure to do this just simply buy the motorola's e398 handsfree.. for its sound quality..

this is my picture of the modified handsfree, as you can see how nasty the work was... but its working perfectly, i also found the schematic of the handsfree's volume control (taken from the wiki, i really forgot who post it..)
i combine the handsfree using female 3,5mm jack (soldering and those nasty thing) later i'm able to use any headset i want..

okay.. I can see why this is.. because that port provides headset functionality also, right? so it would be different from a standard 2.5mm stereo port.

well, kind of... most of the common adapters are straight stereo adapters, but for the blue angel, you'll need a 4 pole 2,5mm jack, one for left speaker, one for right spekaer, one for mic and one for grounding or something....
the "2.5mm standard" is still the same, it's just one with 4 poles instead of two!

didi i understand you right, when you said that its working with your device...?!
or only AFTER modifying?
just curious...

Im not sure if this will help but i did buy a bunch of adapters (2.5 to 3.5 or whatever it is for my BA) and a stereo headset and i noticed that if i plug my headphones all the way into my BA i get mono sound. But if i plug it in about 75% or 80% of the way in i get stereo sound. Im not sure why connecting the plug partially in give stereo but thats how it works for me.
