I wondered whether anyone has had a positive experience with this adapter on the XDA IIs. I bought one and it worked fine on my journey to work using Shure in-ear phones. Then after work I plugged in and could only get the left channel. No amount of fiddling would remedy this. So assuming a fault I returned it to the well known supplier and was sent a replacement. My experience with the repalcement today has been identical. It was fine on first use, then wouldn't work again. But I can't see that there is any way in which I could have damaged the adapter.
I'm beginning to think that there is something going on in terms of the way my XDA is responding to the cable. Or am I being paranoid, when it's actually a duff product?
Has anybody had sustained success?
UPDATE
Okay, so now it's working again but it starts to drift to the left channel after a while. Pressure on my headphone jack relative to the socket rectifies this, indicating a design problem with the socket, possibly exarcebated by expansion from being in a warm pocked. That's the only reason I can think of for it stopping working and then starting again. The fact that I've had problems with 2 of these is not a good sign.

I specifically want to use audiophile grade headphones. I understand that Shure now do a mobile headset, but I don't want to pay out again when I already own 2 pair of quality headphones.
I guess I'll have to stick with the separate mp3 player.

There are TONS of 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptors. Just go to your local electrical hardware store.

It has to be one that is suitable for Blue Angel I'm told. I have a conventional adapter, but that doesn't work. It needs to have three plastic rings on the plug apparently.

I have some crappy headphones with a 2.5mm jack, and they work on the BA, so are you sure about that?

I tried a regular adapter that I already had, and that didn't work. There were 2 different cables available through Expansys, with specific instructions about which one would work with the XDA IIs. I bought the right one for about £10 including delivery, and you know the rest.
I've actually just resolved the problem by trying a cable from a Hong Kong trader on eBay for about £3.50. And it appears to better quality. I'll think again before buying from Expansys. :D

great! i bought an adapter for €6,90.- today, and it is not working!
it's a white adapter cable made by HAMA, if pluged in completely, i can only hear things on one (right) channel/speaker.... major bummer!
what kinda adapter do i need for getting both ear plugs to work....??
or at least, where can i get a working adapter or working headphones or maybe even a working stereo headset!?!
cheers,
krz
PS: anyone knows,if the SENNHEISER MM 10 would work with the blue angel ?!?
