Attached is a set of buttons that I am hoping a great artist can convert into a great looking set of IR Beam buttons. I'm like a 1st grader when it comes to free-hand artistical stuff - gimme some crayons!
I'm hoping that they'll follow the same theme as the others :)
Maybe we'll add a poll for the best set once we get a few entries?
Note that these are copies of the flight mode, but have the proper naming for the IR function.

Ping!
Any takers? I'm hoping someone can draw up a set before 3.9 goes up - which is any day. We can alway revisit the final set later.
Please - someone save me the embarrasment of doing this myself!

matt do you want it like that or kind off like a 3D? I'll be glad to do that for you. I'm not familiar with the *.png files though. Give me specs that your looking for (e.g. size and color).

Just follow the image format as they are now - I'm not exactly sure of the details. Paint edits them just fine, but I'm sure any mainstream graphics app can handle them.
I'd suggest following the same image format as the rest of the buttons, and if you really wanted to get crazy, redo the entire dialpad!
Thanks!

I think the shades of gray is different for all buttons. the flight mode gray is different than the beam gray. I suggest attaching the ringer button to use that as a background since the bottom two button gray should be a lot more similar than the flight mode gray.

I did replace the pics and it showed s blank fr some reason.... so that is why I asked, beside I named it same as activesync pics overwriting them. is that what you meant to overwrite the activesync pics...

If you look in your .rgu file in the comm manager pack, you need to change whatever button you're going to replace with IR. If you don't, even though you have the buttons in the /windows folder, it won't show up in the comm manager display.

Ok, I'm confused by this...
I downloaded the graphics and put them into the package with the names of 7_*.png and L_7_*.png . But what I don't get is how this maps to the .rgu. 7 is Internet Sharing number in the .rgu (but its graphics are named 10_*.png and it works that way). 8 is ActiveSync in .rgu and its graphics are 5_*.png. So I'm missing how these tie together.
Does anyone have a working package with the new graphics and this commManager? Or just tell me where I need to edit to tie the 7_*.png graphics to IR and to a specific button location.
Thanks!

Well, part of my confusion (I now realize) is that this is a thread for the Touch 8 Button CommManager, and I'm trying to do this with the 9 Button Kaiser CommManager... So I changed the graphics (had to resize them also) to be *5_*.png (same as the ActiveSync graphics) and then modified the current .rgu entry that was ActiveSync to now be IR and it appears to be working. I'd still like to figure out how the commManager maps which graphic to which button and the respective regentry as in the case of the Kaiser CommManager, the numbers don't match up at all.

yeah, this one isn't too intuitive.
As long as the properly named graphic files are present, you can put IR in any comm manger space. Heck, you can do it without graphics, but you won't know the status since there isn't any visual indication.
7 just happened to be the 8 button IR function.
So 5 is the IR fuction in the 9 button? Hmmm. Have to remember that one.

Ok, I was wrong and I think I figured this out...
If you use Resource Hacker (found in Core Kitchen under Extras) you can open up the .MUI file. There is a String Table in there and the first one seems to be how these map...
Each type of action maps to a certain number. 5 is ActiveSync. 7 is IR. Its not obvious when you look at it, but it does work out after you figure the first 2 entries don't count, and the first real entry starts at 0. So for the 9 Button Kaiser CommManager, heres the numbers to use for the graphics:
0 - Phone
1 - Bluetooth
2 - WLAN
3 - Data Connection
4 - Vibrate
5 - ActiveSync
6 - Microsoft Direct Push
7 - Beam
8 - Flight Mode
9 - IP Phone
10 - Internet Sharing
11 - 3G
Then in the .rgu just order them how you want, and it will find the correct graphic files based on the map above (so order in the .rgu doesn't matter).

Nice work on the icons. I will use them on my Apache and Titan.
BTW, has anyone gotten the comm manager to work with 10 buttons? I have been looking around, but most of the threads are quite long and painful to trudge through.
Anyway, thanks for the icons.
Edit: Nevermind, looks like it is not possible. Thanks for the icons anyway
