To show battery:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock = 0
To remove battery:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock = 1

Are you wanting a way to show both the date and time on the taskbar, or just a clock icon to show?

There's a registry tweak you can do to make both date and time to show on the taskbar without having to have a special program installed to do it. There is a section under developments in this forum giving many tricks for WM5.
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell
add new binary
