It can be found here (http://download.america.htc.com/RUU_Athena_HTC_US_2.19.453.4_105_1.47.51.00_Ship.e xe) or on the ftp site, in the upload section.
Interresting fact to note: it now includes TeleNav51. Nice!
Cheers, enjoy!

I am running the X7501 software now after using the previous X7500 WM6 ROM. The camera app still supports the front camera as I am using the X7500 hardware. This ROM is geared towards US users on T-Mobile or AT&T as it automatically configures your data connection. It contains TeleNav with I assume is similar to Google Maps, but for a paid subscription. I will run it for a few days and report back. The radio version is higher than the one of the X7500 ROM which may be designed for the US market, I dont know.

2.20 is for the X7500, this one is an update to the X7501. I don't know how to make it work on the X7500 (and don't really look forward to it either), but none the less I never said to go ahead and try that one on a X7500. The X7501 is an Athena/Advantage also, I only mentioned this version was out for anyone to try/break/extract/etc.. It's official release also if it makes anyone more comfortable.

One point I thought was interresting was the inclusion of TeleNav instead of TomTom. Sounds like HTC is maketing the 7500 in europe with video telephony and TomTom, where in america it's the 7501 without video telephone and TeleNav. Which makes me believe it will be sold by Cingular/AT&T (who for a strange reason, launch the HSDPA network, but gets rid of services using it such as video telephone).

Yes, The install ran on my device. I Super CID my X7500 with Olipro's utility before I ran the upgrade to the X7501 ROM, so it is fully unlocked. Dont try without unlocking your unit first!

Thanks, I'm not planning to super CID my device. I'll wait to see your comments anyhow. I'm running 2.20 and am pretty happy with it to tell you the truth.

Both ROMs seem to be about the same, as I have run them each individually. i would say that Advantage users in the United States may like the X7501 ROM better becasue everything is preloaded for AT & T Wireless or T-Mobile.

Other than that, they are the same, and still no VGA resolution support in the X7501 ROM.

Yes it does. The device is set either to 850/1900 + HSDPA or on 900/1900 with UMTS/HSDPA on 2100. Also, you can set WCDMA, GSM or auto.

Now, has anyone had a chance to do a radio comparison between the 1.45 and the 1.47? I would like to run the 1.47.51.00 radio with the other WM6 rom and see what happens.....LOL

I have to say I really enjoy the radio ROM of the X7501 as I have been traveling in areas I normally drop a call and this Radio version on my x7500 seems to migrate seamlessly through my area. I travelled 350 miles round trip today driving and stayed on the phone constantly. I did not drop one call!

Either ROM is OK by me (X7500 or x7501) because at this point if the ROM doesnt have the features you want, you just install a CAB file.

hey guys,
i don't know much about what you're talking about. is there a difference between x7500, x7501, athena, dupod 1000, Ameo and which wm6 rom update u install?

how do i know what i have. i bought mine from some store in manhattan, not from a wireless phone company.

the box says advantage x7500, but the device information:
model number says ATHE100
ROM version: 1.25.405.2
ROM date: 03/09/07
Radio: 1.38.00.00
Protocol: 32.71.7020.103H
extROM: 1.23.405.103

my questions are:
- what model do i have
- is it a locked model? how do i find out?
- livingin USA, would i be better off changing to the x7501 rom, since it's tailored for noth america (so you guys think), or would i be takin a big risk?

really appreciate your help

haztoma, your x7500 could be upgraded. My guess is you're still at Windows Mobile 5, but the experts here can correct me.

Couple of choices for WM 6 ROMs. Dopod's is one. I upgraded mine first to that, later to the x7501 ROM.

I can't answer you re your need to unlock. You can search other threads re how to determine using the mtty utility if you need to. If you do, you can use Olipro's free ulock tool or pay for the one by Imei-check.

As a relative newbie, my advice is to do a lot of up front research in these forums first, but if you do, upgrading is not that difficult. Good luck!

thank you for the repy.
yes i do have WM5. the device freeze 10 times per day. i've narrowed the problem to 2 things. first, when i have the device (with the case) in my back pocket for few mins, the device wouldn't turn on unless i do a do a soft reset. could the magnet on the keyboard be interfering with it somehow when you're forcing in close proximity to the device? or it just can't take the pressure? ANY IDEAS?

second when i trun off the decice and certain programs running (copilot navigation) the device would not turn on unless i do a soft reset. i never had that problem with the ipaq hx4700. ANY IDEAS?

also i'll just have to figure out whether i am better off with the rom coming out on the 27th vs the htc x7501 rom. if i didn't like one of them after trying it out, can i flash the htc x7500 with a different one? or would it be too late by then?

Yes: you can flash as much as you like

My understanding—from reading all the various posts which took time but was worth it—is that once you're Super CID you can flash ROMs to your heart's content. Reinstalling and reconfiguring programs may be a PITA, but that's the price of progress.

I'm not sure at this point what ROM is coming out on the 27th, but I guess I'll find out. Olipro also has spoken of a new cooked ROM over at the Athena Project. So many ROMs, so little time!

hey guys, thanks your help. I decided to wait for the official wm6 release from the asia.htc website.

i tried running the new rom and the process stopped because of ""invalid vendor id". i dowloaded upgrade rom from the asia.htc website like everyone else.

what do i do now? my WM5 is the english version. is the one on the asia.htc site not compatible?

is there a different site i can download the proper one from?

i don't think my htc is locked, i was told that it's unlocked when i bought it.

thanx guys for the help

I am not sure how far your from bricking your device but if your seeing the red/blue/gree/ screen you might still have a chance. if you still got the shipped rom or any other rom you flashed before attempting this one you could try flash it but it needs to match your vendor id. To flash olipro hardspl you need to be conected through active sync and at the moment you cant.

so best bet is to try and flash one of the first wm6 rom that Tupisdin posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314672.

Go for the HTC__001 - version with spl,ipl and etc

I could be wrong but this is what i would do myself.

this wm6 is the one specially made for the htc advantage so it should load on your device if it doesnt i think you bricked your device.

You could try running the olipro hardspl again and see if it runs from your bootloader.

duttythroy, thank you so much for your help!

i flashed with the rom you suggested and everything works fine! initially tried cid using the bootloader mode but it wouldn't work. finally flashed with the rom you suggested and everything worked.

i think my next step is to use the olipro hardspl to unlock the device for future upgrades and not get into this mess again

thanx again :)

ps. htc.com support were also helpfull in providing me with the old rom (didn't use it though)

i would do that but that's not a tomtom problem. i had no problem using tomtom and any gps software (google, copilot). but after the wm6 upgrade the gps does not get a lock on any satellites.

maybe you should re-install the radio. The GPS is part of the radio I believe. There is a thread with the radio only of the 7501 rom. Did you try the unlocker and not complete all three steps? It could be when you did the unlocker that part 3 did not complete successfully. What does your radio show in settings?

Its either your radio or the GPS settings....If you install just the radio you will need to run the olipro unlocker first. (this will hard reset your device in the process and you will have to re-install your apps)

I hope someone can help me! I did not realize and simply went to upgrade the ROM with RUU_Athena_HTC_US_2.19.453.4_105_1.47.51.00_Ship.e xe.

It was going alright till it started the actual update and it gave an error and The process got aborted stating Error (294) Invalid Vendor ID. The update utility cannot be used for your phone. Check the update utility. I tried soft reset, then hard reset but can not get the WM to work. I have no idea what ROM version as there in the first place.

The display that I am getting on the screen is:
ATHE100
IPL-v1.00
ATHE100
SPL-v1.07.0000

What are my options. Thanks in advance for the help.
