Looks like its there

Now we need someone to grab it.

Sure this isn't just the TMobile Dash update - i.e. not the generic ROM? Let's hope though

So is this the same ROM I already downloaded and installed from the T-Mobile website?

It's the shipping ROM that you can download via T-Mobile. They did this with the SDA as well -- you could download the shipping ROM from HTC, though in the case of the SDA, the ROM download wasn't available via the T-Mobile site, I guess because it was never updated.

I downloaded it just to check -- the file size is identical to the T-Mobile site download. The HTC download is named slightly different, the ending numbers (02.79.90) refer to the 'radio version' and match what is listed in 'System Info' on my Dash, which has the T-Mobile download applied to it...

so what's the point of making us wait? all this time we were waiting for a t-mobile rom? this is bullshit. honestly, why's it so hard for them to release a working Htc English ROM for most users? i've lost hope now because i'm surprised when i spoke to htc, they didn't even know when the release date is, the guy i spoke to was a nice guy but he said they weren't given any kind of information and he said engineers are still testing and coding it. is this t-mobile rom any worth it, any differences at all from the previous leaked t-mobile rom - too bad, i can't check - can someone please check and also upload the file?

so you really believe that they will spend time designing and releasing a new ROM version and give it out for free? Come on guys, you should know HTC better by now, they want to sell they new devices, they won't release any new ROM unless it is requested by one of the OEM vendors like T-Mobile.

ok, so maybe you're right - it does make sense, they rather sell their new devices with wm6 over devices that came with wm5 but my question is if i were to get my device cid unlocked and upgrade to the t-mobile version of wm6 and unbrand it, it might be a lengthy process but is it really worth the time and the money (Spent on cid unlocking) - if someone can really tell me it's worth as in differences etc, i've gone through many forums etc searched as well but i'd be glad if one member who upgraded from wm5 to wm6 (t-mobile) could post a reply if it's worth the money, the hassle and the time. :) please and thanks in advance.

I'd love to, but I've tried every trick on this board to get it on my phone, to no avail. I have an HTC-branded S620 from MobilePlanet, so I wouldn't expect to have to unlock anything. Frustrating...

Here's the error I get when trying to apply it.

Tired of waiting for this official update, I decided to give the russian rom a go.
Had to go through the cid unlock and spent hours figuring out how to install this rom and, find a kmap file for my keyboard and installing xT9 in my language.
Now I'm a happy camper with WM6 on my french HTC S620, except for the fact that the caps key won't work and the SIP does not seem to be working.
Anybody else facing the same issues ? Any solution ?
Tried to figure out how to remap this caps key, but I have no damn idea which line of the corresponding kmap file should be modified and how :-/

And I found the tutorial that worked for my rom upgrade on page 18 (post 175)

I found the language pack on MoDaco (registration required to download)

And here is the keymap I use

OK, here is my story of trying to install the russian rom:

I have a T-Mobile MDA Mail which is the German version Excalibur without the Wi-Fi.
I have cid-unlocked it a few months ago through imeicheck and successfully installed the official Dash WM6 Rom.
Now I am trying to install the Russian WM6 one. I have changed the RUU_signed.nbh and the ROMUpdateUtility.exe with HexEditor like described. But during installation I get an Error [300]: Invalid Update Tool

I also tried to run the Bootloader (RUU_Excalibur_SPL-1.11_UpgradeOnly.exe) but I also get an error there.
I have also ran the cid-unlocker again but still I get this Error 300 while installing the Russian Rom afterwards.

Can someone please help me here ??

Hey guys,

I've trying to downgrade my bootloader so I can upgrade to this ROM, but everytime the bootloader starts (phone goes to color bars), my USB connection dies and Vista (yes, I'm running vista unfortunately) doesn't recognize that I'm connected via USB anymore. Has anyone else had this problem?
1) Connect phone to computer, synchs fine, windows detects.
2) Start the RUU_Excalibur_SPL-1.11_UpgradeOnly
3) Phone goes to color bars
4) Windows drops USB connect
5) RUU_Excalibur_SPL-1.11_UpgradeOnly fails because it can't communicate with the device.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

It's very common. I have had the same problem with both my Excalibur & my TyTn. There are some ROM updaters that will work with Vista but most won't. I have a spare XP laptop on my desk that I use almost exclusively for updating PDA ROMs.

yavin4, are you sure you really followed the tutorial step by step :
2) start the unlocker (phone screen will turn white, active sync will disconnect, THIS IS NORMAL)
3) when asked for KEY-FILE or COMM ERROR#1 comes up WAIT 2 MINUTES (DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING)
2) start the unlocker (phone screen will turn white, active sync will disconnect, THIS IS NORMAL)
3) when asked for KEY-FILE or COMM ERROR#1 comes up WAIT 2 MINUTES (DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING)
...
11) start the just edited RUU_Update.exe now and make the ROM update (screen of phone will stay white ALL THE TIME, THIS IS NORMAL)

I skipped the 2 minutes wait part and I just clicked the cancel button when the unlocker asked for a key file. I also did not disconnect my phone.
It took me two hours to figure out that the incomplete unlock process was an essential part of the whole process.

BTW, anybody figured out how I could get my caps key back ?
Thanks

Hello, first of all, i would like to thank you all for this job you´ve done writing about Excalibur.

I´ve been reading the post, and i found a lot of answer here, but i still having 2 questions:

1º I´m using a SPV E600 (Orange), and i was able to install in it the RUU rom(which is wm5), but i could not install the TMobile rom(which is wm6).¿do you know why it´s happening?

2º I bought it from second hand, and it´s sim free as i´m using it with other network, but i don´t now if it´s still bein CID locked (may it could be the answer to 1º).Are there any way to find it out?

About CID locking i have to say that i was able to install the free RUU rom with no problem, but each time i try to execute the bootloader downgrade, i can´t. Anyway i installed the RUU rom and it´s working fine (as fine as wm5 works).

Thanks for your help.

Ok, ok, i knew it, and you´re right, but in the tmobile rom, TMO is too specificated, and in the russian rom no.

I tried to update to wm6 once again but it´s not possible.

But installing the wm5 russian rom was right, in order to delete the Orange (horrible) rom.

Maybe i´ll wait for the official update, i hope it will be released soon.

I have a t-mobile Dash which I upgraded with Russian ROM but this new WM6 rom will not run. It tells me the device is invalid. Is this ROM for original HTC phones only?

Is there a way around it?

first you flash the SPL:

ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/smartphones/Excalibur/RUU_Excalibur_SPL-1.11_UpgradeOnly.exe

here's the WWW flash:

http://files-upload.com/files/472108/HTC_S620_WWE_1.27.405.1_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.ex e

here's office for those who want it:
http://rapidshare.com/files/31706137/Office.WM6.zip
here's Vox audio manager for those who want it:

Ps. I better like German flash, it's smaller due to fewer language packs, and contains English, here: http://files-upload.com/files/472422/HTC_S620_GER_1.27.407.1_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.ex e)

To Disable T9:

Press "Fn" + "Space" (While T9 is active)
Select "ABC" from menu.
