Hi all...

for the 3rd time, all data on my Transcend 2GB minisd card disappeared, and again with the same "symptoms" : first some strange jibberish letters appear in new directories, then all the dirs become unreadable..

I managed to recover some data, unfortunately not all of it, but now I'm trying to find a way to prevent this very irritating known issue of our trinities :mad: I always made a soft-reset whenever I couldn't access the card anymore, or whenever i noticed any strange behavior, and this worked fine until this case..

Anyway, do you have any recommendation on what's the best way to format the minisd card?? I'm unable of formatting it inside the Trinity, I don't know how to do it (if there is such a method), and strange enough, the card reader embedded in my laptop isn't reading the card at all :(

Is there a way to format the card inside the trinity?

I have the exact same problem with my sdhc 4gb card and I was about to ask the exact same question. What are the best formatting options to use?
filesystem fat16? fat32?
block size? 4? 8?
etc.

@Rudgear: unfortunately it didn't work :(

Great :mad: I tried formatting it using a card reader and using the Panasonic software for formatting SD cards, and now I can't do anything with the card . It still recognizes it both on the PC and on the trinity, but I can't format it again, because it says it is copy protected or something like this :confused:

What can be done now?? Is there a program for low-level format or something like that???

Can you use RESCO File Explorer for format?

It actually makes a format, I mean it gives a msg of successful format, but eventually nothing changes :(

It's a known problem for so long - it seems quite unrelated to fat16/fat32/cluster size. It has been reported for corruption problem for many of th combination. It has been discussed too many times here. Do a search and it would turn up some solutions for you.

I know what you are talking about, but the problem now is the card itself, and not how it works on the trinity. The card is simply corrupted right now, I can't do anything with it, even not format it to use it as a normal card on other devices!!

Anybody knows a low level DOS format program??
