HELP! I tried (stupidly) to flash a WM6 Rom to my 6940, it became stuck on the black HP screen. After installing HP's new firmware update (6/29/07) it's now stuck on the blue HP screen that says "HP Ipaq Mobile Messenger."

What do I need to do? I d/led the 6915 english rom (dump.bin) but cannot figure out what to do with it! What should I do?

For this to be done you will have to go and use the methods used for the 6515. There are many sites available that explain this method. Go to the Bettle forum for a start. This method is used by forcing a flash with a sd card but this method has a high failure rate on 6515 (user fault mostly since there are no standards) let a alone a 69XX.

Nothing against you my friend as you are learning. But there needs to be a sticky made that AS OF RIGHT NOW NO WM6 ROM OR ANY ROM FOR THAT MATTER CAN BE FLASHED TO THE HP 69XX LINE OF PHONES SAFELY OR ACURATELY.. A ROM FROM ANOTHER DEVICE WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE.

Now your phone is technically still fine since bootloader is still intact and if we had a stock WM5 firmware to restore our phones a simple flash with the utility and you would be back and running BUT hp has never release this restore utility unlike all phone manufacturers (pc phones anyways) have. and now you must resort to a blind write of your rom which can will overwrite everything blindly and has the chance of making it a true brick.

Good luck with everything, again nothing against you Im just quite mad that you now will probably have a brick when due to HPs negligence you are out of 500+ dollars.
