About 60 euro's here in the netherlands. Great piece of headset :) Good quality audio, has buttons to control the mediaplayer (WMP as well as the HTC Audiomanager work :)) and can offcourse accept calls and control voice command.

well I am answering my own post, :) ,

the working features are,

1. smooth A2DP (skipping in case of high proc. usage e.g. wifi brosin and stereo bt music simultanous)

2. after a call music resumes and in the earphone.

3. AVRCP

4. Caller ID ! u can see both the name & the number on the lcd ( with jetware ).

As promised;

I got the Jabra headset yesterday, and last night I was able to try it. First of all, sound quality is better than expected. Setup was somewhat confusing, since the manual is not so clear. But, I managed. Made a couple of phonecalls, all fine. Overall, nice set of headphones. Luckily, the flashing blue leds can be turned off.

Hi

I use the Anycom BSH-100. The Headset is not bad at all, with HS/HF/A2DP/ AVRRCP and a up to 200 h standby + upto 12 h music playtime.
Tech data here: http://www.anycom.com/products/bluetooth_audio_video/stereo_headset_bsh_100/?id=102&partno=CC3300

There is no buildin Microphone. A small (about 3 cm) mic is attacht to the side mini usb-jack. This mini usb-jack is also used to charge the batteries. Most of the time i forgett the mic, when charging the Headset, so i use the Headset often to listen to mp3s and recive calls without using the headset. ( a bild in Mic would be better) The headset goes to mute when a call comes in.

picture here: http://files.anycom.com/images/products/lifestyle/cc3300_lifestyle_01.jpg

+ (plus):
Handling is very easy.
Long Standby & playtime
small transport size (faltable)

- (minus):
seperate Mic
Sound Quality is OK but not as good as a normal wired-headset. (maybe normal for BT)
no option to turn of the flashing blue led

best regards Oliver

Hi, Anyone using Jabra Bt320 with the Touch? I tired to connect for stereo headset but its fails. I had the same problem with Dopod 810 but some after making some changes in the registry the problem was solved. I tired the same tweaks in Touch but it fails. Any suggestion from the forum? Thanks

and the stereo was fine. I also made the adjustments to the registry and it carried on working fine.
However, I sent the unit back because I bought a Jabra 120s with it and found that, after initial pairing problems (which went away), there was an audio lag which made watching TV rubbish!

When you pair with the BT320s, you should have the option to use it as either
1. a hands-free or
2. wireless stereo.

If you don't, delete the device from your Touch then...
...plug the BT320s into it's charger, three times, for 4 seconds each time.
Now pair again and the option for wireless stereo will magically appear.

Try Motorola S9. Nice and solid. Matches Touch design too.

You get what you pay for comes to mind with BT headsets.

I have yet to come across one headset that plays great stereo sound
and gives you great call quality. However, for stereo sound the Motorola
S9 kicks arse over anything out there and the Jawbone does the voice
calls better than anyone out there. S9 is around $100US and the Jawbone
is $130US ish. Not cheap but you won't be looking to replace them because
they don't do their job. Now if you have a big melon the S9 maybe a problem.

I got the HT820 from Mototola.
Sound is good.
Easy installation on Touch.
Noise cancelling.
Looks a little bit spacy :-) but fits good.
AND I payed 12€ for it on ebay.de.

I have posted a question regarding a small problem with the Bb20s right here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326489

This is a description of my problem, as posted. Does anyone have an idea?

---
Received my Jabra 620s yesterday. First impressions: it is quite big and heavy, but it is better than earplugs ;-) Sounds quality is quite good.

Here is my problem: After pairing the headset with my device, everything behaves as expected until some event (this happend on multiple occasions, different trigger but the same result): the headset controls still function (i.e. I can skip songs etc), but the HTCs audio is routed to the HTC speaker instead of the headset. I cannot fix this, the only way is to remove the bluetooth connection, repair and I am good to go again.

I'd second the comment on the Motorola S9. I got the S9 to go with my old magician, but now that I've upgraded to the Touch, things are even better.

The S9 workd flawlessly for stereo music and also as a regular hands free headset. I can't tell you how many times I've been out jogging, litening to music and I get a cal from people. They say the call sound quality is good, but always wonder why I'm breaking fast.

The S9s are great but I've learned not to answer a call when out of breath
because I'm running for the train, metro or just excerise unless I know it's a
friend calling. After having two friends ask me if I was "doing it" when I
answered the calls I figured that work or strangers wouldn't ask but might
wonder. Of course if you are in a public area the S9s will pick up most of
the back ground noise so you should be okay but out for a jog in a quiet
park and people's imagination tends to run wild. ;)

I have the Sony HBH DS970....

Pro:
> Nice sound quality
> Good control of phone and mp3 via the dongle.
> Nice LCD with caller ID
> Light and comfortable to wear
> Does not look so different from an everyday mp3 player (some BT Headset make you look like a freakin astronaut...for some I guess thats cool...I am a little more conservative).
> Very comfortable in ear buds.
> People report that they can hear me clearly at the other end even with background noise.

Cons:
> Signal / link stength not so great...if in more than 5 m signal starts to drop out (should be more like 8 or 10m).
> Battery life....I can listen to about 3 hours of music then it just stops....but maybe that is good battery life ...I am not sure of the reference.

I have not tried to pair with multiple devices but based on my expereice with it so far I would generally reccomend it as a good bit of kit.

Really? lots of pirate DS970? Thanks for the heads up. Grypho

Grunt,
Thanks for your input as well. Thanks for bringing up the connection issue, one thing I do find, out of all the Bluetooth hardware, although they claim to be good for 8 to 10m, but none of them went further than 5. A little bit off topic, but anyone try to link up with Class 2 & class 3, bluetooth dongle? Those claims to connect ur device up to 50 & 100m respectively.

Cheers,

=)

i tried a DS970 that i bought for my w950i and it worked fine

still i like the nokia BH500 which has the capability of pluggin in any earphone, you still have the wire issue unlike the S9 but this has 2 advantages

1) use any earphone you want (like my B&O earphones lol)

2) if the battery goes down your earphones can be plugged into an earphone adapter, i often travel and forget to charge the battery so this is a lifesaver

I've tried DS970 as well. The sound was good but the only problem is the sync issues when watching movies or clips. Basically there is a slight delay (500ms?). I also tried my plantronics 640 (which is a mono headset without A2DP) and tried the BT app which routes all audio through BT and it worked fine with very little lag actually...

Any observations with the S9 and A/V lag?

I have purchased the MBR-100 device, this is a bluetooth receiver.
You can plug a mini-jack into it, so you can hook it up to every ordinary headset , your car stereo and even your home stereo!
It works really good and the sound quality is great :)

Do you think you could try a divx movie in TCPMP or similar and check for lip sync issues?

That's a nice looking device!

Do you think you could try a divx movie in TCPMP or similar and check for lip sync issues?

Yes, i already did!
I use it in my car when i have to wait some time (sometimes when i'm at work, or enjoying a meal at McDonalds ;) ).
TCPMP has a feature to adjust a/v offset, just go to options->setup and select the advanced page. There you can set the a/v offset to -400 (that is the setting that is perfect for me) and the video is perfectly in sync. :D

I use PocketDivXEncoder ( http://www.pocketdivxencoder.net ) to encode a movie or tv-serie, it greatly reduces the file size and proc. usage, it makes every movie run smooth.
E.G. a full-length movie will take +/- 250 mb space on your storage card.

Random Access
22-09-2007, 11:57 PM
Haha of course! I didn't even think of looking for that.

Yeah I use Pocketdivxencoder as well. It's nice and fast. :)

Thanks MusicMaster, now I can actually consider BT alternatives a bit more seriously. I had almost dismissed it entirely and was thinking of just getting some dongle and using my normal Shure e2c. Now my next worries would just be battery time I guess.

TheMusicMaster

If you bind the camera key to screen on/off (TCPMP, options -> settings -> hot keys) you can enjoy mp3's for quite a long time..
I have found (with my previous device, a HTC Wizard) it will last for a whole day at least.
Unfortunately, the touch has less hardware buttons so skipping forward / back will require intervention trough the screen (requires backlight).
But when you just want to play a playlist or a whole cd there will be not much battery drain if you disable the screen.

Awesome tip! Thanks again. I just tried it and it works like a charm.

I still haven't decided on what music program to use. WMP has it's advantages when it comes to having a large library and perhaps having fun with voice command. It is also avrcp compatible. Still.. I have always been a folder person and use tcpmp mostly. Just as I prefer winamp over wmp on my pc.

I started looking at the Sony Ericsson HBH DS-200. I prefer it over the ds970 since I don't have to deal with the silly lanyard. But i'm gonna read some reviews on it and see how it stacks up. When I tested the ds970 I verified that the ff/rew and other buttons worked just fine in wmp... however they do not work in tcpmp afaik. Perhaps some new update or plugin I may have missed.

http://www.accessoryjack.com/servlet/the-563/i.Tech-BlueBAND-R-Bluetooth/Detail

work very well for me, good bass. If you like Koss, you will like them. It has play/pause/FF/REW/volume+- buttons that work very well with windows media player mobile.

I have problem using it with my PC using BT dongle. I'm using widcom BT stack, I have no sound at all, sometimes I have problems with pairing and mostly problems with connecting to its stereo headphone service (from PC). However it works great with my phone (you can also use it as hands free).

I have tried sony ericsson's HBH DS970 & DS980, and have eventually settled for DS 200. It's allows you to use ur own 3.5 mm headphones, where I am using Sony' Ericsson's HPM70 and the both the bass and treble clarity is amazing and mostly, its a clip-on and tremendously easy to wear it on ur lapel and use the buds only when a call comes in.

I would heavily recommend that you try out and see for yourself.

I have a B-Speech Strex which works perfectly with my HTC Touch. The Strex is a very small Bluetooth Transceiver with Headset and A2DP profiles, a built-in microphone and a 3,5mm stereo plug for any headphones, where I use to connect my BOSE InEar Headphones.

Switching between Headset (on calls) and A2DP (on music) works fine.

My Touch permits even receiving audio streams (internet radio) with WMP by Wifi and resending them by Bluetooth to the Strex/headset, a thing I got never working before on my old iPAQ h6340.

I'm currently using the iTech bluetooth clip radio and it works beautifully with the phone and my pair of UE earphones. The controls on the clip work fine, i.e skipping/reversing/pause/play of mp3's via audiomanager as well videos from coreplayer.
Bought it over the other A2DP handsfrees cos it has a built in FM receiver as well.
Only gripe i have is I am unable to switch from handset to handsfree during a call. However, if already connected, the hands free works fine for calls.

Edited as I figured out how to switch. Silly me Just needed to press the multifunction button once it's connected.

I have used and liked the Plantronics 590, very rich bass and comfortable. Easy to use controls on the side, downside is that they are over the head types, and the status ring is large and bright. People will see you a mile away, and if you bus at night it may make you a target.
I'm using the Plantronics Pulsar 260 now, not as good as the 590 sound-wise but I am finding some good adjustments with the eq and things are looking up, also it is more low profile. Problem with the 260 is that it is a pendant type headset so there are wires, BUT you can use any headphones you prefer.
I think I will take a look at those Plantronics 855 headsets, they look to be perfect for cellphone use!

I've bought Sony Ericsson HBH-DS220, i'm usin the original sony headphones (mv-70 or somethin like that)

i'm absolutley satisfied with the quality and loudness of the headset, only disturbance is that i can't command voice commander as efficiently as i did with my old SE mono headset, but on the other hand recipients can hear me loud and clear even with surrounding noises, AVRCP works so, complete satisfaction :)

I love it. I had the 665 but the talk time sucked. On the 855 the only problem I ran into was using it for a couple of days and got so comfortable after two days I hadn't charged it at all ubtil half way through the third day. The talk time is only 7 hours but hey that's great for me a nice fulfilling conversation with music to boot.

Been using my Philips SHB6100 for a week or so now.

Plus: Light, great sound (lovely bass), comfortable, look way cool (not too geeky), battery life seems good so far(looks like they do actually last the claimed 10hrs)

Cons: Dont fold(minor prob), seems to skip and slow down occasionally(although I am sure this is a "Touch" problem as I have to choose profile every time I turn them on too which is a "touch" problem.-if anyone knows the answer to this I would be very grateful)

Guys, had my Philips ones a bit and have now resolved skipping issues, search "a2dp skipping" and youll get a thread telling you to change a registry entry, bit of digging around to find the entry and it works !!!!! changed it from 32 to 30 and even such a small change worked!!!!!! No skipping at all!!!!!

Just got the HBH-DS970, but my call display doesn't seem to show the person's name only their number. Also, track list isn't popping up. Anyone else experience this? Any fixes or ideas? other than that it's pretty good.

In my opinion the motorola S9 and 820 are the best BT stereo headsets.

I use the Plantronics Pulsar 590A (http://www.plantronics.de/north_america/en_US/products/mobile/bluetooth-headsets/pulsar590a;jsessionid=KEJAZGZNK542ICQBGNUCFEYKAEZW SIV0) headset. But for better sound i prefer mort player freeware (http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&entry=mp_program&action=list) (including 10-band equalizer & effects. Sounds great:D.
