I didn't understand a thing...
I've installed Advanced Config Tool 3.2 on my HTC Touch Elf, but when I first run it, all option was sign with the " V " mark and green...

For example:
I've installed this program because I want to hide Sim contacts...
...When I FIRST run Advanced configuration tool, the "Show sim contacts" option was set on "NO (Default)" but it's strange because the sim contacts was shown!!!!!

So I have had to set that option to "Yes", save it, soft reset and then set it again to "no (default)"

I didn't understand WHY!!!???

Once you enable the IP Phone option in Comm Manager it appears but doesn't actually do anything. Selecting the 'Settings', 'IP Phone' just makes it beep at you. You need to use one of the IP Phone configuration tools, there are a couple available but I think the best is Schaps 'Setup VoIP' which is currently version 0.3.

I have found that when I install the advanced config V3.3 in WM6.1 first Rom version 3.28 then in 3.29 both. The problem is that:

the phone stops ringing sometimes
I can see a phone call coming but cannot here the ring nor can I pick it
The microsoft send error displays
I have to soft reset the phone again to get the ring back on

Please can you check and revert solution

So i cooked a 20755 ROM for my Titan and got a error for the new AdvancedConfig3.3, thought it was the ROM. But now I cooked new WM6.1 20924 ROM and getting same error.

I have had that happen too on other registry tweaks as well. I just decline the reset and turn it off for 15 to 30 seconds and then soft reset it myself. Just like they say in the WIKI about registry tweaks. It usually "takes" then.

Tap on "Menu > More settings > Connections". There, you will find a checkbox (in the last line) named "Enable Wi-Fi on standby mode". You just need to tick it...

On a Touch HD, there are no hardware buttons for the softkeys, and with manila running, the softkeys are mapped to that anyway.

I suspect the Touch HD has a different set of key codes and so will not work out of the box.

The program only works if you have .net compact framework ver 3.5 installed.
Search the forum for the cab file. I also believe it's availabe directly from Microsoft, but make sure it's for mobile devices (.net compact framwork, not .net framework). There is one from Modaco that allows you to select what programs you want to run on 2.0 or 3.5. There is an older version that uses cf ver 2.0, but I don't know if it will work well with your Fuze.

What phone are you using? Is it a Windows Mobile device? Did you install the cab file or the zip file to your phone? Only the cab file will install on the phone. You must also install .net cf ver3.5 (search forum)
If you've done all of the above correctly
There should be an icon installed in your program menu that says Advanced Config.

It seemed that fiddling with these settings messed up the screen alignment on my HTC Touch Cruise. Try to realign the screen. It's a bit of a fuss to navigate to to the controlpanel using the only the keys:

1. pressing the Internet Explorer button and middle action button simultaniously shows the startmenu: navigate to the controlpanel

2. Go to the 2nd tab and select screen settings to realign your screen

3. Phone works again like a charm without the need of hardresetting

4. Don't edit these settings anymore :)

Hi,
First off, excellent program!!! It makes tweaking on my Touch Pro so much easier!!!
I was wondering if anyone has managed to change the long key press functions on the Touch Pro. I'm trying to change the End Key long key press to run S2U2 as I use that for locking/unlocking the phone instead of locking the phone in the default Windows Mobile way.
At the minute when I go into the key mapping section I can only select what the soft keys do and not the others as they are greyed out. I have read alot of the posts and understand not all devices support this feature but from what I've read no one has had the issue with a Touch Pro and I just want to either confirm that this wont work for me or that I'm doing it wrong lol.

Nice tool, schap, I installed 3.3 onto my Tilt with kaiser_HTC_ASIA_HK_WWE_3.34.721.2 installed, set keyboard to AT&T/Cingular, but the mapping is still wrong. Any ideas>?

Tried the high/low scroll speed settings (worked for programs group) and Menu/other settings/smarttouch/contacts but does not work for Builtin contacts.

It changes registry settings to enable or disable the features you select. It is like a bunch of on and off switches on your device. It would be wise to remember your original settings before you begin any tweaks. If you have a registry backup tool, like the one on SK Tools, make a backup of your registry before you begin. Also read through the posts in this thread.:)

Try un-installing and re-installing Advance Config.
I don't know anything else that would help.
Just a thought, possibly your device doesn't support .net cf 3.5 or Advance Config?
From your previous posts, I think you have a Fuze. There is a app called Diamond Tweaks listed in this Forum. You might want to look into that. The Diamond is similar to the Fuze except it doesn't have a keyboard.

Each company make changes to their roms or firmwares, making some apps like this one not working. Some tweaks work perfect with some devices and not with others. As far as I know this apps was made for the kaiser and not for the fuse, I really don't know.
Can Someone please tell us if it is intended to be used with the Fuze?

Are you sure you have to mess with the registry to get advanced configuration to work? I downloaded .NET 3.5 and Advanced Conf v3.3 onto my STORAGE CARD and didn't make any changes to the registry, yet, Advanced Configuration still works on my phone. How is that possible?? I have a HTC touch HD if that matters...:confused:

Wow this thing rocks!!!
The only thing i hated about the HTC TOuch PRo was that it took 3 minutes to take a picture after pressing the button. Well 3 seconds actually. Now it snaps a picture the very second i press the button!!

Im not sure if the battery is lasting longer. I enabled every single one of the battery mods. I know the keyboard one doesnt work. I have it set to 30 seconds, and when i slide it out the lights on the keys still turn off after 7 seconds.

Having installed the DotN 3.5 and the AC 3.3 it works like a dream. The only problem is when I try to change the TouchFlow interface it cannot open the Telstra tweaked version. I suppose I need to revert the phone to a standard HTC ROM but don't really want to.

First, nice attitude.

Second, I had no idea what this was about so here is what I did.

Since I didn't see NAM|US|MN|SAINT-CLOUD on the link I searched this thread for weather. I found a post that said EUR|AT|AU003|CITY worked so I called up Vienna, Austria for the AccuWeather site. EUR|AT|AU009|VIENNA was in the URL so I replaced it with NAM|US|MN|SAINT-CLOUD and got a screen asking for a non US city.

Then I went to the home page on the DOWNLOAD link on the first post. Under the Overview I looked for weather, it was listed under HTC Home.

Then I googled HTC Home Weather Location and found a xml file for putting major US cities into HTC Home Weather. There was no Saint Cloud but there was a Saint Louis and it had a space (%20) instead of a dash (-).

Then I went to the AccuWeather URL of Vienna, Austria and replaced the EUR|AT|AU009|VIENNA with NAM|US|MN|SAINT CLOUD and it automatically replaced the space with %20 and worked fine.

So NAM|US|MN|SAINT CLOUD or NAM|US|MN|SAINT%20CLOUD should work. I don't use HTC Home so I can't try it.

Never went into the registry itself, I used Kaiser Tweak and Advanced Config.
You can uncheck the box for "Disconnect After" in the connection menu and use the settings in the first screen shot
First SS shows Advance config, it enables the timer and disconnect button when you touch the "H", "G", or "E" icon at the top of your screen you can disconnect from there or open the Comm Mgr and disable. Second SS shows Kaiser Tweak with the Disconnect After switch disabled. If Kaiser Tweak doesn't work for you, there is another app called Diamond Tweak. I'm not familiar with it but I hear that it is similar to KT and was developed for newer phones.

Thanks very much for your reply. Advanced Configuration Tool has the disconnect after xx minutes under menu. Since that doesn't seem to work, I guess I'll try Diamond Tweak. Hope that works on a Xperia... There is a Xperia Tweak as well, though since I have a stripped down base ROM without the Xperia Panels, Xperia Tweak crashes when starting the program.

It seemed that fiddling with these settings messed up the screen alignment on my HTC Touch Cruise. Try to realign the screen. It's a bit of a fuss to navigate to to the controlpanel using the only the keys:

1. pressing the Internet Explorer button and middle action button simultaniously shows the startmenu: navigate to the controlpanel

2. Go to the 2nd tab and select screen settings to realign your screen

3. Phone works again like a charm without the need of hardresetting

4. Don't edit these settings anymore :)

Ran into the SAME problem myself. All I did was set touch pressure to "Default" which obviously was not default on my Vogue! Since the Vogue is keyboardless, your tip doesn't work right off the bat.

However, I managed to get the align app to pop up finally using the Camera Key+Middle button... but then it wouldn't respond to any attempts to align the screen. Probably because biotouch is running, which I know has caused me problems in the past trying to align the screen. But since the screen doesn't respond, I can't kill biotouch either.

Going to have to hard reset :(... there should be a warning specifically on this setting NOT to change it on a Touch only phone as it seems like it WILL lock you out of your phone and require a hard reset.

ROM update shouldn't be necessary.
The 3.5 MSI file needs to be run on your PC.

I downloaded the Advanced Configuration Tool v3.2.cab on my Kaiser, and now it flickers on the unlock screen. It seems to boot up okay (htc logo, then Windows mobile), but then two cursors appear on a black screen, and the title bar flashes between "CONFIRM" and "PASSWORD". I can get a soft reset out of it, but thats it. Please advise.

I'm not sure how alive or dead this thread is but I was wondering how well Advanced Config. 3.3 works with the new WM builds. I'm running Murda ROM 1.06 w/WM build 23060 on a Sprint Touch Pro. It seems to work most of the time, but not always. Case in point is changing the keyboard backlight timer from 10 seconds to 10 minutes. It looks like it works, but it effects no change at all. Any thoughts?

When incoming calls came through and I would slide the slider2answer to ANSWER, the entire slider would become green "Answer," the ringer would stop ringing, but the physical button lights would keep flashing and the calls would go to voicemail. I tried uninstalling it, but uninstallation did not resolve the issue. After a few hard resets, many wasted hours, and installing programs selectively, I found out that it was Schap's Advanced config v3.3. If you think it was only me that has this problem, look at posts 4, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of this PPCGeeks thread (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=32840). Disabling incoming call is an old problem with this software.


So beware: Do not install Schap's Advanced Configuration on your Sprint/HTC CDMA Touch Pro

To Schap, the maker of this program: Although you developed this software to provide utility to the community, you have unfortunately screwed up so many people. Why don't you take this software offline? How many more people have to fall prey to this program and have to spend countless hours doing hard resets? Your program killed my weekend. Thanks for nothing!!!

Bodisson, the problem is not limited to just my device (Sprint/HTC Touch Pro). If you refer back to my first post in this thread, I listed other threads in PPCGeeks forum (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=32840) in which people which HTC Touch (another HTC model) had also had this notorious problem regarding disabling of the ability to answer incoming calls after installing Schap's Adv Config. Notice that that those posts in PPCGeeks thread are over one and a half years old, and Schap has still not addressed the issue. It is fair to ask that either Schap's Adv Config be taken offline or at least a warning be given about the existence of this old problem. Believe me few new people would be willing to consider installing this program if they know about this problem.

And your statement of "And BTW, no one forced you to install it, right?" is not the right way of preventing headaches for a whole lot more people. I guess you have to go through the hardship that I went through and waste a weekend to stop saying this rude, selfish statement!!!

If the problem has been around for such a long time, a caring programmer would at least post a warning for future potential users!!! It is not too much to ask to be get informed about an old bug with this software. Yes the program is free and at risk of user, but how about caring for your fans with just a simple warning? Is that too much to ask? I think not.

Ever heard of SPB or Sprite Backup?
What kind of person goes messing with their PRIMARY cell phone \ business device without making a backup before they apply tweaks and changes?

This is an advanced program for advanced users (says so right in the name :P)...you would think ADVANCED users would know to back their sheeit up before applying tweaks...
If it's not your primary phone and you are just hacking around, then fine I could understand (in which case, why are you so mad? lol)...but you've gotta be some kind of idiot to blame YOUR mistake on Schapp. All you had to do was take 5 minutes and make a backup before installing the program...if it screwed up your phone, even to the point where you had to Hard Reset -- hard reset then restore backup...10 minutes tops.

So I guess this is the reason why the http://www.touchxperience.com/ site is down?
Wow...that's so sad..all because noobs don't know to unzip their fly before they start to piss.

hendrixus, I hope you never become part of the minority because then you may get confused:confused: and irritated too! I hope you don't complain then because you can see how much unfair negative comments you get! By the way, I use Sprint's stock ROM, so it's unfortunate that this problem exists, and many people have my phone (CDMA HTC Touch Pro), so my warning can be useful to many who may want to try this app in the future. Others with my type of phone many not have chosen not to report the problem and just suffered hard resets in silence.

I think it is still reasonable as I said in my first post that the Adv Config should not be distributed UNLESS there is a warning posted indicating the incoming call problem, which has been known for more than a year now. This way, if others have to do a hard reset, they will only have to do it once, not multiple times with selective program installation to find out which program is the culprit. I hadn't received calls on my phone for a while after installing Adv Config, so I couldn't tell that it was the culprit.

Hi all...I'm a newbie...I received the HTC Tilt 2 from ATT....and installed the advanced configuration tool...works great...I have a question though...when I receive an email with an image attached..I can download it...and it gives me the option of saving as a contact..or save screen image...when I pressed save screen image it said it was saved...but I cannot find the image on my phone anywhere..please help.. thank you
