Opened the Advanced Configuration Tool, went to the Comm Manager settings and although I had a 8 button manager, selected the 9th button as a new item ot on the existing list.

My comm manager hasn't changed and is working fine, but I am not able to launch the ACT (Advanced Configuration Tool) and it errors out when loading Comm Manager Settings with the following error.

Yes, this error can occur when you are doing so with an older version of Comm Manager, I will solve it in the next version.

Tried this tweak application. Think it has more feature than 'Trinity Hack' & HTCustom. Also, selecting using 'Dpad to navigate' PIE doesn't cause the SMS to open from bottom (tho' deselect this feature seems to cause that problem, this is opposite to HTCustom).

However, I had problem accessing wifi the other day. I thought it could be caused by some applications including this one. Deleted this one to tried and I managed to connect to the network. But now I read in another place that some other user of WM6 for HTC P3600 has experienced this problem. So, may not be caused by your application.

Can you or anyone confirm this? Kinda like your application.. esp. the part which can control the 'Cleartype' font. = )

I don't know, I never had such a problem with D-pad navigation, so I don't know what causes this problem. The only thing I do to des/activate it is to modify a registry entry.

great tool mate... a few questions though..

1. The WIFI button in Comm Manager is not working for me. I tried the registry change (using Resco) but it still does not work. I am not sure if I have got the right changes in place. It works only when the original comm manager (that dull blue thing) is used (any other comm manager is failing)

2. The dial pad, seems to display the last call information overlapping the list of previous calls. I can post a screenshot if you want me to.

3. What does the Unlock and Unhide Extended Rom options do? They actually seem to be doing nothing on my ppc.

I am using a T-Mobile Wing with WM6.

By the way, the ClearType setting is awesome.

Hi, can somebody who has a Trinity test the User Agent changing in Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool (Internet).
Try to put NokiaN70 into the User Agent field and press Done (softreset).
After opening http://www.fiddlertool.com/useragent.aspx in Pocket Internet Explorer the Site should show: User Agent: NokiaN70....... (scroll down).
Can somebody tell me whats written after User Agent on Trinity? This would help much! Thanks.

I used your app on a tmobile mda (htc wizard) running XDA 2a (wm6) rom...used it to set the glpyh, file and file filter cache sizes...what are the recommended values for WM6? They were all 0 in the rom. I also would encourage you to add FATFS size as a performance tweak..I edited it manually from 4096 to 8192 using total commander.

As I explained many times, Kaiser's Comm Manager supports only 9 large buttons (yes the button layout becomes wierd when there are more than 9). If you want to have a Comm Manager which supports 12 buttons so download my 12-button Comm Manager and change the registry value HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\DisableButtonText to 0.

Unfortunately there's no CAB or PROVXML files for Croatian operators at all :(

Nobody made them so I am inputing MMS and internet settings every time I do a hard reset or flash new ROM, thats why I asked to embend it so I don't need to input it every time..

If it is bugger for you to embend it without CAB or PROVXML then nevermind, I'll just keep inputing them every time..

It works really 100% with Config Loader on WM6.
Can you add these settings to your great operator tool, because for Austria there is operator A1, one, T-Mob and TR, but not 3AT.
This will make things much more easier for WM-Users. :)

You should play with the settings an see which one works best for you. Any recommendation you get here will be base on that person's device and applications installed on it.

Ok then let me rephrase my request..what does WM6 come set to by default because the rom I used had all of them disabled. Is the settings in the screenshot for glyph cache the default?

For creating an xml for GPRS settings and MMS Settings you can run Settings Savior (DL at xda-devs).
Save xml-Files and post CM_GPRSEntries.xml, CM_Networks.xml, CM_ProxyEntries.xml

Open an xml-file from another provider ( e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301279) which has all three xml settings in one xml and take over all settings from your 3 xmls in this one xml.
Then load this created xml with your provider settings with Config Loader.
This installs the xml and the settings to your phone and you will see if it works. Delete all settings first to see if it really works.

Making a cab of an _setup.xml is possible with makecab.exe (Microsoft DL)
Open Commandline (DOS-Window) in Windows and run "makecab.exe _setup.xml ProviderSettings.cab"

You need WM6 installed! WM5 saves the Settings in another way!

If somebody knows an easier way to create an operator xml or cab please post here! This will make it easier for Schaps to create the operator tool.

EDIT: There are multiple VoIP cabs that have to be installed to get VoIP on Majik to run. The application errors if they are not all installed.

Could you list the cabs you needed to install in order to get it to work?

I'm running Satin and have installed the voipdrivers.cab from the Majik add-ons pack and still get errors when I run Schapps Setup Voip.

What other cabs need to be installed?

For creating an xml for GPRS settings and MMS Settings you can run Settings Savior (DL at xda-devs).
Save xml-Files and post CM_GPRSEntries.xml, CM_Networks.xml, CM_ProxyEntries.xml

Open an xml-file from another provider ( e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301279) which has all three xml settings in one xml and take over all settings from your 3 xmls in this one xml.
Then load this created xml with your provider settings with Config Loader.
This installs the xml and the settings to your phone and you will see if it works. Delete all settings first to see if it really works.

Making a cab of an _setup.xml is possible with makecab.exe (Microsoft DL)
Open Commandline (DOS-Window) in Windows and run "makecab.exe _setup.xml ProviderSettings.cab"

You need WM6 installed! WM5 saves the Settings in another way!

If somebody knows an easier way to create an operator xml or cab please post here! This will make it easier for Schaps to create the operator tool.

For the right positions download an existing xml from another provider, you will see and modify the xml-file (from another provider) logically with your xmls you get with settings savior. Link already posted above. It's not easy but it works. I don't know an easier way by now.

Alternatively, the best solution would be to reformat the screen with different positions for each field in landscape view, so that it is all visible without scrolling anyway.

PAPPL, i've downloaded your 3Austria.xml file and replace your settings by mine. I have could load it with Config Loader. It works, but i have a little error.

I have two connections in Start/Settings/Connections/Connections.
One in "My ISP" called "Yoigo" & another in "My work Network" called "YOIGO MMS". When server for MMS is configured in messaging/sms-MMS/Menu/MMS Options in "Connect via" calls to "My ISP" and not to "My work Network" that is the correct one.
Here is my xml settings file. If it's possible for someone to indicate me the line to change i would be very greatful to you.

Don't forget that my tool is not only used for Hermes, and User Agents strings are propoer to each device.

The default ClearType contrast is defined by the OS, not Advanced Config.

Great tool, like I posted in your latest ROM topic the settings for T-Mobile Netherlands have one error. I first thought there were more but the MMS settings are perfect, just been able to test that.

The error that does exist is in the settings for internet. In the current settings the 'number' dialed is set to "internet-act" this should be simply "internet".

Apart from that it all works great! Wonderfull tool!
Any plans for releasing the battery indicator seperately?

I tried to configure my HTC S710 for Orange Switzerland. But this seems to be the only combination on which pressing "Done" does nothing (it just nothing happens, no confirmation question, nothing, just stays where it is (in the country / provider screen)). All other combinations seem to work but this doesn't helps me because I need Orange Switzerland.
Any Idea?

I use 3.57a with a TyTN. After install the visio patch and the purple dial pad, that's perfect. No bug report except a strange thing.

If i add a "Navigation" folder in program folder on the sd card, AdvancedConfig.exe crash.

I rename "Navigation" to "GPS" and no problem.

the program (advanced configuration) crashed while starting on a prophet g4 running wm6 prophet touch v6. I did not have the same problem on previous roms (PDAViet 5a Cross,5b Cross & 6 Touch). Now im "afraid" to install the software (by running the cab-file) on my prophet touch v6 so that it does not mess up my other settings.

Is it therefore possible to use the "advanced configuration" properly running only the .exe-file? (without installing).

In that case, does anyone here have the .exe-file for "advanced configuration" please?

The microphone is ok but the speaker is not.

the Advanced Configurator is working great...however it recognizes the PDA as P3600i, where does it get that Info at the first screen from?
Other then that it works fine.

When using 1.0 on my Sprint Mogul, the only error I receive is when enabling/disabling the IE cache (it's the same Exception error that others have described). Otherwise, most settings seem to be working fine.

The only setting that doesn't seem to work for my phone is the Unlock Extended ROM... is there a pre-requisite for this one? The Show setting works as expected. You can safely assume that I am in a "hard reset" (clean) condition. :)

This ROM does not include VOIP (no menu for config, no 'Internell Call' in today).

I first tried SIP Config Tool 2.0.1, and now Setup VoIP .

On my Athena, the advance configuration tool freezes when trying to load the file association, when the bar reaches about 45%. Can't get it pass that. Repeated SR does not help. What might be the cause?

Edit:

It only work once after installation,and would freeze the second time try to use it. This is also the case work version 1.0.

I now get around the problem by uninstalling it and reinstalling after each single use. A bit troublesome.Would be nice if this problem could be fixed.

Also, although I could connect the call and make my home fixed line ring during testing, we could not hear each other despite my phone showing it is connected. Any idea what the possible causes are?

In Setup VoIP 0.3, i've had a consistant problem with the VoIP option for "Only when phone is unavailable", "Always use VoIP", etc not sticking when hitting ok.

Seems that if I check/uncheck the GPRS box and play around with it a bit I can eventually get it to stick but it would be nice to have it work one shot.

I have the voip seetings working and can receive incoming calls. Problem is no matter what number I dial I get an error. I beleive this has to do with the ipdialplan.xml but I don't understand the format enought o go editing it. When will the voip config tool with dial plan support be released?

Hi Schaps, Sorry to bother you with dumb ideas but I like to use a different font on my device, would it be possible to add system font selection and size, I found menus easier to finger through with a slightly larger font although stuff often does not display properly. Firstly great work you have here. I havent installed anything yet onto my new Tytn II but i am planning on adding VOIP in the coming week.

A few questions come to mind.

1.Can you tell me if your Advanced config tool will automatically select wifi in preference over 3G when wifi is available? Or does this have to be manually switched over?

2. I presume that this uses the default dial pad. How do you select a regular call or a voip call? And also, for incoming calls, how do you know what 'line' it is?

3. How long til you will release the feature 'Easily switch between several SIP operators'?

Looking images in the Windows folder I found out the images for the comm Manager: L_X_YYY.png where X is between 0 and 11, and YYY is one of the following values dis, dn, off, on.

It seems that the Voip one is the n° 9: It is the ones that are missing on my device.

Well, if it's any consolation, I ended up encountering the same error... After a little research, it would appear that this app was not developed to be used on the SmartPhone platform. Perhaps the developer or someone else could contradict my findings?

Nevertheless, I did find a possible workaround. However, this would mean a little re-working of the code would be necessary to accommodate our curiosity. I would be interested in helping if Schap would be willing to disclose the source. :rolleyes: There is a substitute Tab Control (http://www.christec.co.nz/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/smartphonetabcontrol.zip) here http://www.christec.co.nz/blog/archives/date/2007/09/ that Schap may be interested in...

Hopefully someone here can offer me some help on this one. I have a Tilt with AT&T which I have installed the tools on. I set my GPRS/3G to automatically timeout after 120 seconds but when I run any java application that uses the internet (such as gmail or opera mini 4) the program connects and immediately disconnects from the network. It occurs in both WiFi and GPRS/3G. If I disable the automatic timeout then it works perfectly for both connections. Has anyone seen this before or could someone offer me some advice on what to do? I have already tried resetting the phone, I have reinstalled the Java applications, and tried playing with the settings on the advanced config tool but nothing seems to work.

set path as \Storage Card\iecache and made a folder on the card but when i loaded PIE it just bombed out without an error. Have set it to disable cache for now. Does the folder need to have anything special about it?

OK, I have settled with the Treo 750, after two horrible weeks with a Tilt. Another story, trust me. Anyway, I am interested in this Snaps(?) tweaker, but I am unsure which version to grab. I have updated to WM6. I really don't want to turn it into a brick since I just got it yesterday, but would like to have the automatic disconnect for data, and other features the tweaker seems to offer. Using a 8925 Tilt with Schap's 4.22. I have setup the SIP setting and configured such that it shows as available. Though whenever I dial using the Voice over IP it says it's dialing and then Connects and rings the phone, but I cant hear anything on the mobile phone nor does the other party hear when I speak I'm not sure if I'm doing everything right but here is what I have

My Settings:
Provider VOIPBuster
Username xxxx
Password xxxx
Registrar Address: sip.voipbuster.com with Port 5060 UDP
Proxy Address: sip.voipbuster.com with Port 5060 UDP
URI:sip:username@sip.voipbuster.com

I activated 3G over VOIP and purchase a few minutes from VOIPBuster account.

Although I have noticed whenever I go back into the options the check box for the "enable VOIP over 3G" has been cleared.


When I look at the VOIP it shows available, so I touch it and it changes to "Selected" which I assume means whenever I dial out it is going to use the VOIP.

Now when I begin to dial a number for example 011-859-647-xxxx
and press the talk button the phone shows "dialing" and then Connects, but I cant hear anything or talk to anyone. I do know when I dial the number though the phone rings, but that is it.

Anyone have any ideas or maybe point me in the right direction?

IMHO, the way I see it, it's an easy indication, on the tittle bar (i.e. it's visible everywhere, not only on the VoIP Today plugin) that VoIP is selected. I mean, whenever you see that indication, you know you won't be able to call through your GSM/UMTS carrier's dial plan, but only through your VoIP provider's instead.

I might be heavily wrong, though. :eek:

Great app. Thanks for it. It runs mostly very well on my Titan (Mogul 6800).

Having said that, when I do the date/time title bar tweak under appearance, the last digit of the year gets cut off. Not a big deal to fix, but I need to know where in the registry to look. I have looked in the usual places (mostly under 'shell').

I have searched the forums and google, and have come up with nothing outside the usual fix (e.g., TBOpt under nsl folder).

I wanted the right softkey to open contacts but having it open poutlook.exe did not work. So I had to manually edit the registry under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113open: "\windows\startmenu\programs\apps\contacts.lnk" (without quotes)

It seems that advanced config 1.1 is not compatible with .net compact framework 3.5.
when launching the tool it gives a GAC_Microsoft.WindowsMobile.PocketOutlook_v1_0_0_0 _cneutral_1.dll related problem and hangs.

If restoring the file GAC_Microsoft.WindowsMobile.PocketOutlook_v1_0_0_0 _cneutral_1.dll from a .net compact framework 2.0 installation to windows directory, the tool runs fine again.

Schaps! correct me if I am wrong. After downloading the Advance Config (2.0.1.0), then it appears to have version 2.02.0.1.0 when install. Also I have it in French

In these days, from the above topic and now, I see tha the program stop the connection as requested if you are connected in the web. But when the TyTN look for new e-mails sometime run (close the connection) and someothers no. ???? :confused::confused:

Advanced Configuration Tool 2.0 loads the configuration file according to your locale ID, if the file doesn't exist for your language it will load the first configuration file it finds. This explains why non US english users have settings in French. Sorry, I will correct this in the next version.

To display settings in english, you can rename AdvancedConfig_0409.xml to your locale ID or delete AdvancedConfig_040C.xml.

great tool mate... a few questions though..

1. The WIFI button in Comm Manager is not working for me. I tried the registry change (using Resco) but it still does not work. I am not sure if I have got the right changes in place. It works only when the original comm manager (that dull blue thing) is used (any other comm manager is failing)

2. The dial pad, seems to display the last call information overlapping the list of previous calls. I can post a screenshot if you want me to.

3. What does the Unlock and Unhide Extended Rom options do? They actually seem to be doing nothing on my ppc.

I am using a T-Mobile Wing with WM6.

By the way, the ClearType setting is awesome.

same here for local region: Austria/Germany -> french, i able to read frech, but its not as easy as it would be english or german, if you need a translator for german, just pm me :)

Hi I just recently bought a LG KS20 locked to the French Vodafone SFR.
The phone setting is in French language and I do not know a single word in French.

I tried Schaps_AdvancedConfig_v2[1].0.1.0.CAB on an HTC S710 and unfortunately it crashes straight away with the following errors message. Too bad this program looks to make up for a lot of missing features. I'd love to get this going. Let me know if I can be of any help debugging the issue.

This is on Windows Mobile 6 Standard edition (non-touch screen).
