View Full Version : DOPOD WM6 official and VOIP problems

VOIP seems to be blocked on the new HTC official WM6 release for DOPOD.

Tried to reinstall the required dll through the usual .cab (used before roms cooks stopped removing WM6 VOIP functionalities), and the Internet Calling features appear on today's screen, however it's impossible to have the service working.

Tried the settings .cab I created (always worked with past WM6 roms) and the a program SIPconfigToll (ver. 2.0.1), but none seems to apply the settings and
always receive the same message: Internet Calling: Service Blocked. (not even the service name seems to change).

Any advice?

Internet connection is ok as well as ports, etc.

I've installed these two cabs:
MajikVOIP.cab - http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/local_links.php?action=jump&id=24&catid=6
VOIP Drivers.cab from http://wmblack.info/addons/

And VoIP is working fine for me with official WM6 ROM. :)

Did you try to reinstall VoIP app in device memory? Did VoIP work for you before? Do you have WiFi switched on? Does your provider/router/firewall block any VoIP ports? I would start with these things first, surely.

Register an account on 4winmobile.com, and then you'll have an access. Simple as that.

Hi eva_d:

Thanks for your reply...let me give you my answers:

Did you try to reinstall VoIP app in device memory?
- No, I installed MajikVOIP.cab & VOIP Drivers.cab only in my microSD
- Do you recommend me to install them in device memory?

Did VoIP work for you before?
- Yes, I installed a few days ago, SJ-Labs - SJphone-PPC2003-303c and it worked fine with my VoIP provider

Do you have WiFi switched on?
- Yes, it's a basic...No-VoIP without WiFi

Does your provider/router/firewall block any VoIP ports?
- If SJ-Labs - SJphone-PPC2003-303c worked with my VoIP-Settings, I supposed that I don't have problems with block any VoIP ports

What are your recommendations to fix my problem?

Thanks

Hi,

I've loaded MajikVOIP.cab, VOIP Drivers.cab and SetupVoIP_v0.3 (all in main memory) and although VoIP works OK, I get the occasional, short bursts of crackling from the loudspeaker, even when it's not actually enabled.

Is this a Known 'feature'?

I haven't noticed that, but to be honest - I also haven't used VoIP app for a while, so I could just miss it...

I just placed VoIP call, and you're right - there is that crackling sound coming out of external speaker from time to time. :( However, I don't have this when VoIP is disabled. :-o

Btw, do you have the same 'feature' that changing in-call volume with roller is not possible while VoIP call?

I have no problem installing the internet calling drivers but I have NO idea how to input the settings in the "Setup VOIP" program. I have Vonage as an Internet Phone Service...Does anyone know a link where the settings are given so I can actually use the VOIP program?

It would be very helpful when I am out of town to still use my 8525 but not use "out of town" minutes..just getting on through wifi would be awesome!

Since I am in a post already, let me vent a lil bit...Does anyone know why people are SOOOO rude on these forums? I hope they are not this way in real life...I feel sorry for them if they are....they must be very miserable people.. Anyway...a little bit of patients and common courtesy can go a long way!

Sorry if that’s ment to be at me but I was on my phone when I replied to that, but I do know that there are some very rude people out there and that’s just a superior complex. It’s more than likely that we are junior members and we don’t know much compared to the longer members.

It makes it harder to ask for help if these harsh members bitch at you, so with this I make sure I research it hard i.e. Google or search forums with every phrase I can think of before I am stumped and ask for help.

I know that some questions will be asked again and again but we all human we need to learn from our mistakes

But have to say its not just this forum its most others i have been to ie psp-hacks but this is full of jumped up little brats

So i have looked through about 100 pages of forums to try to find the answer.... and who knows maybe it just doesnt work. i would like to know if anyone has been successful at getting voip to connect over 3G? i can get it to work no problems over wifi (even though i have had different results on different access points).

i am using an AT&T tilt, i have tried using wap.cingular, and isp.cingular, disabled my proxy, an set the registry to allow 3G voip, etc... i am curious to know if anyone has done this successfuly on the AT&T/cingular network.

your replies are greatly appreciated!

thanks!

I used SetupVoIP_v0.3 and I was experiencing exactly the same problems until I uninstalled it.
I installed SipConfigTool_2_0_1 and the files (MajikVoIP, VOIP Drivers, SIPConfigTool) on the device memory and not ! on the microSD card.
Try to use SipConfigTool, and enter only the SIP address of your VOiP provider and see if it works.
The stun address of VoipDiscount is stun.voipdiscount.com and for me it works fine without entering it and I am using only the sip.voipdiscount.com
(I have tested it also with SJphone where I removed the stun address and it works)

- For VoIP calls using 3G/GSM follow the steps 1 to 12 and 14 to 16
(I haven't tested it)

Hey guys, Ive been trying to get VOIP working for soooo long =(
Skype works but i dont think its the same thing we're talking about here.
I looked around and found a company similar to skype called "Vbuzzer" and they also have the SIP function.

Long story short, I installed the following

HTC TyTN
Mobile 6 (Black 3.1)
MajikVOIP.cab
VOIP Drivers.cab
SipConfigTool_2_0_1
SetupVoIP_v0.3

The service seems to work execpt that i cannot hear anything through my blue tooth head set.
Also all numbers must be dialed with +1 (area code) etc. is this common?

THanks!
