Can PTT be remapped or is it hardwired like WM5 versions? If so does the WM5 work around work (though I doubt you've tested this since judging by your message you use PTT!) :D

With this being AT&T release.... and me being on Rogers in Canada, the only difference being is my internet settings correct? Which I've written down anyways so I can manually change and all is good? Oh, and being an official release, it probably doesn't have Big Storage correct? Thanks for listening to my newbiness. :P

This is the rom that HTC gave to ATT... they will test it and decide whether or not it meets standards and then give to the public... so its official for the most part...

doesnt have the dopod voice command... which i wish it did, i really liked it.. but i have been running it all day.. been pretty stable

My girlfriend and I both took the plunge and went for this ROM update and so far we both are pretty happy. She is happy cause ringtones work again. There were some issues with the most recent rom update and downloading ringtones from at&t. This update seems to work perfectly for that. As far as I am concerned I haven't had any issues, I only got 3 apps installed so I am running pretty clean. Web speed was what was expected and the OS itself seems to be pretty zippy. So who else is gonna take the plunge?

Has there been any noticeable changes/updates to the Bluetooth stack (i.e. is it more stable and will it keep a connection)? Thanks for any reports.

BTW, the post about the keyboard not lighting up is probably due to the keyboard light sensor beinq turned on by default. Go to settings, buttons, backlight and uncheck the light sensor option. Maybe that will solve the problem.

Anyway thanks for any reports on the Bluetooth stack.

I just finished cutting down the dopod release and adding in the things I wanted, now I have to decide if its worth re-doing my work as they're both basically the same, although the animation and deep blue color theme is nice. I don't like losing the 5th button to PTT though.

I don't know if it matters, but I repackaged the rom, WITHOUT the ipl and spl, but including the extended rom, the radio, the OS, and the cool animated splash screens. I think it will make it a safer flash for non-ATT folks.

I have been running the rom all day (obviously, i had it first, lol).. so here is my quick synopsis...

Immediately after flashing and going through the customizations and finally getting to play with the rom i was amazed... for an actual operator rom with all the bloatware this thing is pretty quick, i would even dare to say this is the best official cing/att rom i have ever flashed..

They fixed the blaring loud volume on the splash screen (its still ghey though)..

The att.tsk theme is actually pretty, i almost kept it...

They left in live messenger (which i was surprise as att requested it be removed from the rom for the kaiser/8925)

Obviously working PTT

still uses the Intent midlet

The 1.48 radio has been the best i have used so far

HTC home plug in works just fine (however it does tend to make the device a little sluggish)

still the same old 7 button comm manager..

oh and one thing that really made me happy... I can now play music with WMP and put the device to sleep and it still plays!!!!

Hmmm - tried running slueths PTT Fix and while it did make 5th button push and hold selectable - when you restart you get a bunch of PTT errors and pushing and holding still brings up PTT. As I feared, they've changed something in the way that PTT works between WM5 and WM6. Hopefully Sleuth (or some smart person) can figure out fixing it :)

SWEET - be glad to have rid of that beast! :P This is the first rom I've run that I haven't had the dreaded S.O.D. (though I haven't tried the Dopod). I know I've only been running it for what - 30 minutes now but at least on my phone I've tracked it down to being specifically related to the wifi and have figured out how to force my phone into S.O.D. when testing. Finally I can leave WIFI on again!!!! :)

Voip works - you just need to do the install the 2 cabs provided in the ZIP.

Then you have to install your sip settings (I know there's some app floating around but I made myself a cab back in the day and have never need to change it!) :)

Same OS and Office so far as I can tell. AT&T customizations, PTT and assorted crapware dropped in. Dopod ROM was noticeably faster for me.

Radios works for each person different and works (as far as I know) in each country.

hey everyone, install this comm manager - just make sure you either soft reset or stop comm manager using task manager before you install. this one is from vp3g's rom and has the 3g switch

BTW, from my first impressions, this ROM is pretty fast. Kinda annoyed it didnt have OneNote, but it installed with no problem. The start up time seems to have decreased, and they finally turned down the stupid startup sound. So far so good...

actually count me in for PTT... if people dont want the PTT they should run the dopod release.. its just as fast, doesnt have the cingular operator bloat... and if its cabbed its only going to work on the cingular rom variants... would like to have the voice command out of the dopod release though :D

Till vp fixes this rom. I unlocked the extended rom. Deleted all the crap cabs and fixed the config file. At least it didn't install all the goodmail, xpressmail and telenav crap.

First let me say thanks and my hats off to all you fantastic ROM cooks out there.
I have used Schaps, JJ's Black Majic, and of course vp3g's rom. All were excellant and quite truthfully the "official ATT ROM is somewhat of a let down from these prior versions.

I look forward to your cooked ROM.

I run Battery status and see very little if any difference in power consumption with this ROM over the previously mentioned ROMs. Running Photo Contacts Pro, SPB Weather, HTC Custom, Skype, and a few other applications, my free memory is about 22M after SR. With Black Majic and the others I had 29.5M.

Radio 148 so far is good and similar results that I had with 147 here in Missouri on ATT with my 8525.

I can not see speed difference but that may be just me. All functions work such as XM Radio, Cellular Video, etc. I am not big blue tooth user so no comment.

Note: While I was keying this message I had my phone connected via active sync and a call came in which did not ring and seemed to freeze the phone up for a short time and then things started working again..???

I agree, It s a nice function that should stay. The depod rom is like a stripped down version of this one. More memory, larger storage, no PTT, No AT&T stuffings. Faster in my opinion.

Not sure if this way was an "inappropriate" way to flash it, but I ran the official RUU and when the progress bar appeared on the screen on the PC screen I put the phone into bootloader mode. It flashed fine. :eek:

I just used winrar to unrar it (I actually had to unrar in and then unrar a file within it) and then used the custom flasher - worked fine for me! :)

Windows Media player does not see my storage card. I can see the storage card in file explorer and browse to a song and click on it and it will open Window Media player but I can't get the library to update with the songs off the storage card. It worked fine on all the other WM6 roms I have tried (Black, VPG's, Custel).

When trying to set the "Band Selection Tab" to "ON" using the following method (\HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\) & setting the value to show the tab under phone, the value will not stay in the registry.......?????

I have tried this a number of times (literally dozens) and it will always revert back to "0"(off) so the selection tab will not show......

I'm using Total Commander on a Cingular 8525, with the "New" At&t WMG installed..... radio 1.48 IPL/SPL is 1.04/2.10 Olipro (although I don't believe IPL/SPL have anything to do with it......

I've encountered this before with TotalCommander and setting registry values not sticking, so I'm wondering is the due to TotalCommander, the Rom, what?????

Is there a cab to set the Show Band Selection tab, if so please provide, Ive tried the old one floating around & it shows installation unsuccessful, this may be due to WM6.........

Thoughts/Suggestions Please...... I've search, checked the wiki (obviously since I pulled the reg tweak from there), but it will not stay so the tab can be view/utilized.....

You didn't specify so I'll just toss this out...make sure you're power cycling the device (power off, power on) after a registry change. I used to have this problem because I was soft-resetting the device right after making the reg change...too quick for the change to be written. By power-cycling instead of SR, you force the reg change to be written.

So I've gone ahead with the upgrade straight out of the wrapper, and done the BT quality hack but the sound on my Jabrao 8010's doesn't sounds as good. I'm a relative NEWB so I don't even know if it could be an issue with the radio upgrade or if there has been a change in the BT stack or what. Anyone else notice this? It's also possible that I'm just smoking crack.

By Live Search I mean the Windows Live Search Mapping app (wls.live.com), which is waaaaaay different from the Live Search Bar on the home screen. Basically it is Windows Live=Google Maps and a great free app.

I didn't even try to toggle the phone to vibrate before installing Kryphurs .cab. But I just uninstalled the Toggle and holding the Comm Button does not put the phone on vibrate. Does this ROM have the Vibrate Toggle Built-in? It is not working for me.

Anyone get a SOD on this ROM?

Don't have outlook store on the sd card. The SD cards have a well documented issue with coming out of sleep.

Next time SOD happens, pop the card out...wait a minute and odds are the phone will come back to life.

I'm on a mac, and Parallels have been a lifesaver. And while I am most certainly not advocating piracy, there should be a way to renew the trial period for a Parallels installation (if I remember right, been a while since I used a trial version) that would make it very usable for a Mac.

All this being true, once I have extracted the cab file from the exe file and installed it on my sd card, why wouldn't the cab file now open? I install cab files all the time. There is that wiki thread about how to update roms on a mac using the sd card so there must be some work around of this. I see no nbh (?) file to rename as HERMIMG (which sounds a lttle to teutonic for my tastes anyway).

i think u have to extract the ruu_signed.nbh file from the .exe and rename that to HERMIMG.NBH and copy it to ur SD card, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think that's what you have to do...

It was said somewhere earlier that this is the final submission from HTC to AT&T for approval. If AT&T accepts it then they go live with it, otherwise they might request HTC tweak a couple of things.

I would like windows mobile 6 for my htc 8525, with the ppt working and live messenger. I get into the page of rapidshare to downlad it, but it seems its no longer there, i try to download ir with star downloader, but it didnt.
Do you have other webspace were I can find windows mobile 6, and cool software, like live msn, spb, pocket plus, or something new that you can recomend me please.

I got the DOPOD ROM installed... didn't reallly see anything major in terms of speed. I also upgraded with the radio 1.47 (which was the latest and greatest Radio Rom as of 2 days ago).. I didn't notice any difference as well.

This may be the ATT "OFFICIAL" rom.. but I think if you run with the Dopod rom (which gets you the Cyberon Voice Command), and add the ATT splash screen and the Cingular WAP settings CAB files, then add MOBITV and XM cab files, you've got pretty much this 'ROM' in a 'stripped down version'. Only exception is the Push To Talk button which activates Voice Command on the Dopod Rom.

I can't believe there's all these mad rush of ROMS this past 2 days..

And the real player doesnt stream youtube nor tinytube.net 3gp files. What im loving about this ROM is the ability to play audio while the phone is on sleep mode.

I have been running the rom all day (obviously, i had it first, lol).. so here is my quick synopsis...

Immediately after flashing and going through the customizations and finally getting to play with the rom i was amazed... for an actual operator rom with all the bloatware this thing is pretty quick, i would even dare to say this is the best official cing/att rom i have ever flashed..

They fixed the blaring loud volume on the splash screen (its still ghey though)..

The att.tsk theme is actually pretty, i almost kept it...

They left in live messenger (which i was surprise as att requested it be removed from the rom for the kaiser/8925)

Obviously working PTT

still uses the Intent midlet

The 1.48 radio has been the best i have used so far

HTC home plug in works just fine (however it does tend to make the device a little sluggish)

still the same old 7 button comm manager..

oh and one thing that really made me happy... I can now play music with WMP and put the device to sleep and it still plays!!!!

hmmm, thats about all i can think of for now... and i leave you with that.. my hung over a$$ is going to bed...

That is a common problem with the streaming player. It needs updated before it will work. There are cab files out there, do some searching.

Try a reflash

Hmmm.... Interesting. I had the exact same problem. A reflash seems to have fixed it. On the reflash, I let it run the first round of autoconfig fir Cingular, but then killed it before it did the ExtROM. The first time, I killed before the first autoconfig.

Anyway, hope this helps.

Had the sleep of death on the ATT release of WM6 with radio version 1.48, seems like now its become a device problem. I rolled back to the original WM5 with radio 1.38.001 and looks like its passed down the problem to WM5!!

i dont have a clue whats causing the standby issue, more than the standby issue is the problem of calls being lost, the phone reports a signal but as soon as you try to make a call, the phone signal is lost and it tries to aquire a signal again.. so the standby mode is kinda putting the phone in to flight mode with out you knowing!!! meaning your phones reporting signal but when people call you all they get is the answer phone!! i've also noticed that the Call Duration in device information resets to 0hrs 0mins... gonna try the ATT wm6 along side the patch bt nitin, see if that fixes the problem!

Verify that you have disabled the proxy. by default in teh Cingular one, it is enabled.

Yes, you are definitely a great chef, and there are a great many of us obsessively checking for an update.

I went ahead and added the 1.48 radio and after quick tests, it seems the same or better than 1.40. Can't tell yet on battery life.... speed is a bit better.

Dunno about BBC support, but I'm not planning to hex edit mine. I'll leave that to someone else.

Just some quick observations after a day using this rom.

PIE seems to be quicker, and viewing a page with the text smallest in one column looks much better - sort of like full screen lite.

You may need that sound restore cab posted earlier. I did and it works again.

Battery doesn't die as quick, even browsing at 3G.

i think u have to extract the ruu_signed.nbh file from the .exe and rename that to HERMIMG.NBH and copy it to ur SD card, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think that's what you have to do...

also, format the card to fat16, and hermimg must be in the root.

Is anyone else having issues with DriectPush with this ROM? I have DirectPush highlighted in the CommManager, however under ActiveSync schedule, there is no selection for "As Items Arrive" as there were in previous ROMs. I have tested and found out that even if the DirectPush is on in the CommManager, the push email will still not work. I have hard reset as well as reflashed but no dice. Anyone else having this problem?

Is Windows Live part of WM6 roms or it was cooked in custom WM6 roms? I gotten to like Windows Live and don't see it in the official rom so I wasn't sure if it was a downloadable cab or part of WM6 rom removed at AT&T request.

Also there no button 5 for PTT in the button setting so I assume that was cooked into ROM by other as well too?
