to my luck, i got the unlock code for my htc s621 but i don't know where to put it. :( can someone please help? i'd really appreciate it. does the unlock code mean i can upgrade to wm6 or i still have to do something else? please tell me the instructions to input unlock code. thanks in advance.

p.s: i tried putting 3 old fido sim's with no access, i still didn't get any unlock code prompt etc - it just booted up and had no network access, that's all - i can't wait to put the unlock code in. is it possible to input the unlock code using the original sim i.e. rogers (it's a roger's locked phone).

also if i have the unlock code, can i use DASHV2Unlock from imei-check and make my own UNL file by putting in the code in a text file and putting the UNL extension or can someone help me make a UNL file as i already have the code. please help, thanks - i'm going crazy trying to figure this out, i have the unlock code but i don't know how to unlock it even though i put different network sim's - no unlock code prompt. phone's locked to rogers.
ok, i tried the text unl file, doesn't work - can someone guide me as to how can i make the UNL file, please - thanks.

where did you get the unlock code? don't they provide instructions?

the only way to flash a different rom is to cid unlock through imei check. if you haven't done that then you need to.

i got the unlock code from a member that's on gsm forum and xda developers - his names tupisdin. he was nice enough to provide the code but unfortunately, he didn't give me the instructions and i didn't pay - he gave it to me for free and it worked for a member of gsm forum, i need help, though - i want to try the unlock code but i don't know how to :( - i tried putting different sim cards from a different carrier, no luck, no unlock code prompt. so i'm wondering if someone can help me.

I hate to say it but it sounds like you leg got pulled. unless that guy has the program to generate the unlock code from your specific IMEI (in which case you would have had to give him your IMEI, which is a big no no, and could cost you lots of $$) then the code he gave you is false.

to SIM unlock your 620/621 the code is derived and generated off of your specific IMEI, so a general code will not work.

also, to get the prompt to put in the code, put in a foreign SIM into your 621 and it will ask you to unlock. that is where you input the SIM unlock code.

best of luck and i hope it works, though bout 99.9% chance it won't.

i did give him my imei. so it's a code that's generated off my imei. i'll try and get a foreign sim card and see what happens. thanks bro.

If i were you i'd be a little bit worried. if someone has your IMEI they can clone your phone and rack up a HUGE phone bill which you will be required to pay.

concerning the foreign SIM, foreign in this sense doesn't mean overseas etc... as long as it's a SIM that's not of your carrier it will initiate the sim unlock.

Incorrect. you have mixed up IMSI with IMEI. IMSI is property of SIM card and that's what can be really misused for that very purpose you were reffering to.

oh, my bad. question then. Why is there such a ruckus with posting your IMEI online then? there's a ton of sites that will ban you if you do that.
