ok i was able to get the ruu extracted with nbhtool.
what came out of that was
Extendedrom.nb
windows.nb
primarysplash.nb
radio.nb
secondarysplash.nb
spl.nb

then i tried tadzios app to try and dump the rom i used the hermes setting and prophet setting both didnt give me a dump folder just some files. one was imgfs others i forgot.

anyone have any ideas.

aWaiter.exe -1 05_OS.nb -force
aWaiter C# Port

[05_OS.nb] is not a valid OS file...

Not having much luck converting the nb to imgfs either. I've tried aWaiter, aChef, and then various imgfs tools that errored out. I don't know enough about the file format to conclude anything (for all I know, I missed a step somewhere.:) )

Anyone with more experience have anything to add?

I just uploaded the windows.nb from the 6800 rom to an ftp (no wait):
ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@ftp.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/ImCoKeMaN/

I also uploaded the SPL incase anyone wants to take a look at that it's in the same directory.

Great!, Now all we need is someone to help create a working touchflo rom and away we go with touchflo cube.

err its not that simple

firstly atm the tool only goes one way, secondly even if you did get one to re-compile it you cannot flash unsigned code to the titan until someone bypasses that.

Oh that just bites. I was hoping to have some touchflo goodness sooner rather than later.
Also how fast does something like that usually take? days? Months? years? is it something simple. Or is it a very daunting task like looking for an exploit in the xbox 360

well you need someone to work on it. they need the knowledge of how and a device to try/experiment on. if no-one does it it will never be done

well at least we have you and you have done more than the rest. I'm sure as soon as some of the rest of the smart people get a hold the work you have already done we will see more action in the coming months. So thanks for your contribution to the community. Best I can do is make everyone I can aware of the new titan subforums here so they can come and play. Thanks!!:D

The dump tools in midgets post will dump the files from the RUU_Singed.nbh. you will need to extract the .nbh from the newest rom update HTC released. i think the nbh may be in this thread look on page one im not sure.

once you extract the .nbh whats the nexts step??

once you extract the .nbh whats the nexts step??

You place the NUU_signed.nbh into the titandump folder and click on the titandump.bat file.

So when will we have a Rom for our Mogul

So when will we have a Rom for our Mogul

not when, if.

only IF someone decides to work on/manages to bypass CID and signature checking in the SPL.

wow, I didn't know there was that much involved in getting some custom ROMs for the Mogul. I'm about to trade this thing in for a 6700 and forget about the Mogul. I have a 6700 and a Mogul and I'm beginning to think I like the 6700 better. I'm beginning to wonder why I even bought a Mogul instead of just getting another 6700.

I'm beginning to wonder about you too...

This is the drama that surrounds EVERY new device. When the 6700 was released (yuck!), it also didn't have custom roms until much later.

So either have patience like the rest of us, or help with the development, or go back to your coveted 6700 until you're ready for something better!

for me, as well as for many users in this forum, sticking with the 6800 over the 6700 is a no-brainer.

Back to the rom development!

I've actually decided to stick with the 6800 and I traded in my 6700 for a 6800. Sweet trade huh? Anyway, I found some fixes for the Mogul's volume and other things that I didn't like about it, and it's working more like it should so I decided to stick with the Mogul.

Now if we could only get some custom roms for this phone. It would be nice if we could at least get a rom with all of the HTC stuff including touch flo (not button flo) and some tweaks to make the phone a little better on memory. Heck, it would be nice to get a custom rom working at all. Any progress on this yet?

rather than 'is there any progress' maybe 'is anyone working on this?' ;)

The main issue right now is being able custom code to the phone (bypass signature checking). The most promising method for this is to load a different (patched) bootloader. The titan does not appear to have an IPL to be patched (to load an SPL from ram) like the GSM phones do so it isn't as easy as just copying an existing SSPL setup from another device.

Is this true of all CDMA devices vs GSM devices?
This is my first CDMA device, but I come from a long history of using/modding/testing cooked GSM roms, and my little bit of experience may be helpful once the effort gets moving...
How did it work on the 6700? I know there were a slew of modded roms available there, so how was the problem solved? What obstacles have changed since then?
I'm all for getting nitty gritty and technical, I want to understand and help... Let's get the most out of our devices!

ImCoKeMaN

the 6700 used the .nbf file format which is much easier to make custom roms for. It didn't need a special bootloader at all to avoid the signed code issues. The Mogul uses the .nbh file format along with other devices, but it has it's own intricacies as well. The NAND does not allow pdocwrite to write to the device. The 2k sector size makes most current tools unhappy too.

You can try, but the best you will get is a bricked device.

Great works, I tried many tools to decode the ROM, get some files and localize it, with no lucky. U give me the solution.

Okay...I'm lost...sorry.

I'm a noob to this situation, but I've cooked Apache ROMs....which was CAKE!

What the process here?

The nbh file is on the device, correct?

How do extract the RUU_signed.nbh? Where is it?

Inside the RUU_signed.nbh are the different nb files, correct? How do dig into the nb files?

Sorry guys, I'm not a developer and trying to get up to speed on this to see if I can be any help and get some kitchens going.

Okay I figured it out. I extracted the Alltel RUU_signed.nbh file from the install exe and ran the titandump tool....but of course everything it unpacks is beyond me. I couldn't find the ExtROM or anything. Looks like a 100% learning curve from cooking Apache ROMs...:(

I've dumped RUU_signed.nbh with Titandump but how do I repack the outputs? I've been searching everywhere for such a tool to repack it for days but haven't had any luck yet. Can some one please help me with this.

Thank you.

I've already dumped the ROM and can see all the files and folders that are in my ROM. Now my question is how do I know what these dll's do inside the ROM? For instance if the file is ctlgres.dll how do I know what that does and if it can be taken out or not?

In DCD's kitchen, all of the files are there. Here's the readme on what they do.
