Help With My Wing!

Okay, I just bought my T-Mobile Wing a.k.a HTC Herald a.k.a P4350(Yes, i am one of the few that searches google before asking for help :D)

I'm very please with it, except for a few things...

I'd like to overclock the CPU on my device, but i haven't seen an application running on Windows Mobile6. Also, whats the safest I should overclock the CPU to? I saw that one thread about over clocking speed, but they listed wayy too many for me to choose from, i just want a faster device along wit ha decent amount of talk time.

When I try to sync my wing with my PC it disables(greys out) the options of syncing contacts, calender, e-mail, tasks, or notes. Why is this, and how can i sync them?

Everytime i send a SMS i get a "Message Sent" dialouge that pisses me off, becausei send tons of texts, how can i disable this?

Is there a better WiFi searcher than the default one that comes with WM6? The one that is pre-installed doesn't auto-refresh :(

When i goto Settings ->System->Screen->Cleartype the cleartype option is disabled (greyed out) Why is this, and how can i enable it? (Im guessing something with the registry)

Most important of all, is there a way to remove that stupid MyFaves application. I don't use it, and it's a complete waste of memory to me. If someone can tell me how to remove this ill be VERY happy

Do i need a security application on my wing? If so which is the best?

Are there any other tweaks or apps I should know about??

here bud i use battery status it works really well, i have a wing, n i have been running it at these speeds for the longest n it works great.

overclock = 260
cpu scaler:
min = 143 org = 201 max = 260 boost = 273

I notice that, that happens when u sync ur phone to more than 1 pc the first pc u sync it 2 has all those options available to u but the second doesnt, i would suggest that u try completely uninstalling activesync n do a re-install n c if that fixes da problem

use total commander which i included incase u dont have n click "\\" then go to "registry" then:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMs g = 1 (DWORD decimal)

on our wing the "Settings" key doesnt exist so once u get to "Inbox" click the folder icon on bottom of screen right above "show" and create the key "Settings" then double click "+Add Value+" in the "Name" field put "SMSNoSentMsg" for type select "DWORD" click ok n then on next screen set value to "1" click ok n say bye bye to "Message Sent" dialouge it works right away no need to restart device also make sure u put it in exactly as shown cause it is case sensitive.

yea i hate that crap one of the first things i removed hahahhaaha its simple to remove jus go to:

start/settings/system/add remove programs

its one of the bottom ones u should b able to notice which 1 it is...it frees up 3k+!!!!!!!

ive include in the dls a word doc of the reg tweaks i use sum of them are labeled as to what they do n sum are not so of course this is use at ur own risk but ive been using since i got my wing n have not ran into ne problems at all :D ....neway here is another 1 i use thats not included in the file:

How to remove system tray n free up sum mem:

-Edit registry as follows:

HKLM\init\ scroll down to "Launch92" click it n it just delete "TrayAp.exe"

-Or, if you want to keep some but not all of the icons:

HKLM\Software\HTC\TrayApplet

also this is a good browser it has tab browsing n seems to run faster than PIE check it out if u want direct dl

also to install the cab files dont unzip them jus dl n copy over to ur wing n run it from there. hope this has been helpful all this info i serched n found on the wiki n in the forums so its out there dude u jus gotta look but i had all this info saved on my pc already so it was no biggie to post :D!!!!

thats what i thought but on my wing i went there n behold init_tray.ink wasnt there n i even tried doing a search for it n came up empty handed.....so as far as i kno the only way to get rid of the system tray on the wing is by editing the reg system cause that file doesnt exist in windows dir :mad:!!!

How do we know if our TMobile Wing is locked or UnLocked?

if it's straight out of the box (from T-Mobile) it's locked.

I dont have something obvious on my wing that says myfaves in the add/remove. I want that crap gone.

if you don't want myfaves on there, make sure you don't have the service, do a hard reset and before the countdown reaches zero on setting up customizations, take out your battery to stop customizations, and it won't install myfaves or any other t-mobile junk, then use file explorer, total commander, memmaid, any one of them, go to /Windows/StartUp and delete the My5MsgCenter.lnk and the program will quit appearing, I have the service, I still jus stop it from starting up on booting and ...
