Where can I get an english ROM Samsung SGH i718?

Hi all, a freind of mine commited the ultimate sin and paid MORE for a Samsung i718 (WM 5)than I paid for my HTC Hermes...and the OS in CHinese. He's called Samsung HK and TW and neither will help him, anyone know where I can find an English ROM for this device? Are there tools out there to dump the ROM from another samsung? Is he totally boned?
I know it's not the perfecdt place for this question but I can't find anything about moding this phone or any ROM downloads. Thanks in advance to anyone whyo can help me!!

Hi Everyone,

Although I didn't actually commit the greatest sin myself, I have one of these phones and now need it in English.

My wife's father sent me one from China. NOWHERE in the system options does it have a place the select English language. This is the only phone I have ever seen from China that doesn't have English! NUTS!

Now, I'm not too savvy with all of the lingo being used on this forum but SURELY there must be a way to install the English version of WM6 onto this phone. Can someone please explain my options to me? I feel useless without this phone in English!

There is an english rom for I718 (althrough I718 is a chinese variant of a I710). It called I718ZMGF4 and meant for I718+ (WM6 mod of i718). Works fine on both I710 and I718. Note: gsm part of firmware must be flashed with special flashing cable (suitable for Samsung D800, D820).

That's AWESOME! Can someone please explain how I would do the installation of the English ROM? :confused: :confused: Please keep in mind that I am a total noob and have never done this before. The most I have done before is update the firmware for my sony ericsson, but that was using their update service.

If someone could write a little step by step, or even point me to a thread about flashing phones, that would be awesome. I am just afraid I will brick the whole phone.
