Ive had an O2 Orbit for a few months now, and have to say its the best phone ive ever owned, I used to own an XDA Mini S.

However just a few questions.

1) My wifi disconnects all the time, literally withing 1-2 mins of connecting to the wifi, I have no idea why its doing it, DCHP is set up manually, and im using a Belkin N1.

2) Im using No Data to stop the GPRS from connecting when IE opens accidently in my pocket and ends up costing me £7 a month in bloody errors! But i was wondering with GPRS stopped will I not know if someone has sent me an MMS?

3) Is there a decent Music player that will play music off the network, at the moment TCPMP is the only one that works, but its interface does not really apply well to song playback.

4) Another annoying thing! It appears when I turn the screen off, it seems to disconnect the wifi (although that could be more 1 related), and also turns off the sound, so it means I have to have the screen on in my pocket if i want to listen to music!

Sorry for the multiple questions!

WIFI could be a number of things.....most important thought what ROM are you running? Are you still plugging along with WM5, If you are I strongly suggest you give Tom Codon's Black and Blue Version 3 a spin. This will probably resolve a couple of your issues and is rock solid stable.

IIRC having GPRS stopped won't stop notification of an MMS, I'm sure you will receive a standard SMS message to alert you that you have a message waiting for download, you will need to re-enable your GPRS to download it.

I use Pocket Lan to give me access to Network shares, and have found pPod a pretty easy piece of music software to live with.

Turning off the screen should not affect your WIFI connection, is your WIFI running at full power within the phone, as I along with many others have found that this is the only setting that makes the WIFI function useable.

Take a look at the WM6 Artemis thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=362 and read up on B&B3 from Tom, and BE VERY sure you have read the instructions and use USPL, the upgrade to WM6 is easy and will BLOW you away....:D

2) MMS is sent over O2 Active (O2 WAP) Internet Explorer will not connect to O2 over WAP so you can leave the settings for that available when you run a program called No GPRS. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=40638&d=1180860606

4) When you press the button on the side you don't just turn of the screen, you put the device into standby. It works differently to your previous device in that respect. There is no work around for Windows Media Player as far as I know, WMP forces the screen to stay on on a dim setting. Take a look at Mortplayer as an alternative: http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=page&entry=mp_overview&action=view It has settings that allow the screen to turn it's self off whilst in use.
