View Full Version : Gps data to multiple apps???
Is it true that the onbaord GPS can self manage the GPS data to multiple apps( like the Trinity)?

Yes, that is correct.
Go to Settings, system tab, then External GPS , access tab,
then tick the option 'automatically manage GPS (recommended)'.
(It should be something like that, because I have a Dutch ROM, so this is an educated guess :p )

Do you know the actual port the GPS is on? I'm trying to get iGo to work and it just hangs when I do autoseek. Strange thing is that Google maps has no trouble finding and using the built in GPS-hardware. Unfortunately it won't tell me what these settings are.

I used COM port nr 6. I didn't change the hardware-port and the baudrate settings.
However, the first time, it took me about half an hour to get a GPS fix. But once he made the first fix, the next ones were very fast. Since then, he has a fix within 20 seconds.
Could you tell me about the Google Maps application? What is it about? Could you eventualy share the files?

That's it, but beware of your mobile internet tarrifs, I think only with Dutch T-Mobile this falls under your 10 euro internet bundle.
I gave up on Igo, I just use TomTom now.
Did you notice that on long trips with bluetooth on the gps just plain disapears? like: no GPS-device present? doesn't happen with bluetooth switched off.
maybe it's just my ROM version, I'm having it flashed to release version later today (branded unfortunately: yuk!)
Update: not release, ROM-versie 1.49.172.2

the big red :)
Now that the retail version is available, can anyone please confirm or try to feed 2 applications that would use the GPS data feed concurrently!
ie TomTom and GPSDash.

I'm using iGo 2007 with the GPS settings left as standard. When I looked at these they were com 4 and 4800 baud. Memory map 5 uses the same settings and I've had no problems with either. I let WM6 manage the setting automatically as I have with all previous WM GPS Smartphones/PDAs.

I am using Windows Live with mine and the GPS port only seems to work on Com4, but like others, I leave the HW port and baud rate alone.
If you enable the QuickGPS it will help you lock onto a satellite quicker.
