Great stuff! Does it required my device to be CID unlocked?
Does this work w/ dodpod C800?
Radio: 02.69
IPL: 1.09.00001
SPL: 1.09.00001
OS: 1.7.0.0
Language: CHT
I really want to use wm6, but I am afraid that it will break my device and I don't have an official RUU.
Thanks for any feedback!

Can someone please post a link for Radio ROM 2.83.90. I have tried the last two versions of this ROM and everything works fine until I insert my SIM and then I get the "Data Crashes..." error.
This should apply for anyone else with Radio ROM 2.71.90 or lower trying to flash to this ROM - don't unless you yave 2.83.90 or higher!

There is NO 2.83.90
The Terra has 2.85.xx
But perhaps 2.79 is enoughe. Just give it a try with the RUU for ship2.79

Finished the update to the new rom just now... Haven't explored it much yet, but at first look it seems to have much less memory program available...
EDIT1: First drawback on this ROM.. soft-reseted my device and it booted until the PDAVIET bootscreen. After that entered in a boot loop :S
Going to flash again and if I have the same result after a couple of soft-resets, I'm going back to the previous ROM...
It's a shame that the PP is back to 12MB... The 6MB PP was great :)
EDIT2: Ok, so until now everything is fine with this new rom version... soft-reseted a few times my P4350 and no boot loop appeared. I'd would like to know why Mr.PhamQuang used a 12MB PP in this rom so I've registered at pdaviet.net to see the complete set of updates, but I don't understand the language :( I can see that they talk about something related to the previous rom, the latest rom and the original, but it would be great if someone could translate this:

So howmuch faster is it compared to last version?
One thing that bugged me was the slower speed when sliding out the keyboard and letting the screen flip. On my WM5 its practically instant, hope it's same on this ROM.

Search the registry for "enabledifferGPRSicon" and set the value to 1
BTW - EDGE is much faster than GPRS but it is not available anywhere - so when the G changes to E you have a faster connection.

I went back to the previous rom... I prefer the 6MB PP (average of 23MB program memory fee) rather them 12MB PP (wich leads to an average 17MB program memory available). I don't use the the HTC Home 6 tabs (the 5 tab one is enough for me). I prefer the colored original skin of baterystatus plugin.
Although the Comm 8 button seems more adequate to my Herald I don't mind having a 9 button CommManager, so I've returned to the PDAVIET ROM WM6.0 v4.12.07.03.
In both ROM's I still have the problem with the weather plugin... doesn't download the weather info of my city :(

I think that the problem is exactly the fact of you not having a memory card in... In my first try I got the same error, but it was because of an SDCard almost without free space. Deleted some things and released some space and after that everything went ok :)

I checked it out. 2.79 is absolutly sufficient and this version works on my german P4350.
BUT you have to be careful with the "connection wizard" under Settings->Connection. Once used, my radio became unavailable. Had to get the WM5 RUU installed back to get it workin again.

Hello everybody
I am a P4350 french user and I would like to try the Windows Mobile 6 OS.
However, before do the upgrade, I have some questions for don't have any problems.
1 - I don't mind if the interface is in English, however, is it possible to have the french keyboard ?
Indeed, it is not easy to create a SMS with a keyboard not AZERTY
2 - For them who have tried this OS, is it more quick than WM5 ?
3 - If the WM6 doesn't correspond to my hope or if I need to send the unit to the customer service, can I downgrade to french WM5 ?
If yes, where do I find a french WM5 official rom ?
Thanking you in advance for your future responses

On another note what pagepool size is everyone most happy with. I am currently testing out 4MB and so far I am happy with the +25MB of program memory(with 240 or 260 overclock and makes a great combo), but there is a quite significant delay when using the screen to execute a command after a wakeup. What are your experiences so far????

1 - It is possible to change keyboard language through registry
2 - Since the first release of WM6 through the Universal I found it to be much quicker. This holds true in my opinion on the Herald as well.
3 - You can downgrade but its upto you to find the original French RUU for your device. Maybe a few french users could point you in the right direction.

2.: checking if I have the RUU to unbrick (right language is nesessary)
3.: Updating with RUU
4.: going through the flashing proces - Step by Step
5.: chicking if all went right
After that there don´t have to be questions like "How do I make a hardreset" (e.g.)

Ye, this happened to me with the last release of this ROM.
DROVE ME NNNNNNNNNUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSS.
Was avg. a 2 hard resets a day just to get it started.
There are many causes to this problem, most notably a program that loads from the storage card during start-up. Taking the memory card out during boot up should do the trick for now. After that do a search on this site using key words "soft reset loop" and try to determine which program triggered the resets. For me it was Sktools after a performing simple cleanup.

Try using TotalCommander instead of Resco. It is way smaller, quicker, and it does a lot more.
I personally didnt start getting that problem until I messed around with the extended rom. The problem actually stems from the storage card. I wonder if there were a way to install programs to the 9.9MB of space on the extROM. I tried this b4 to no avail.
Could knock 2 birds with one stone if this were possible. I remember back when I had the universal this was a plausible solution.

try anichillus "Core Pro Kitchen" you can edit every ROM dump with this.
I tried to extract this OS.nb. In the forum, there is a post saying that you want to extract it by using the "Extra"-way in the "Dump .nb and .bin" for wing/ Herald.
I inserted a "pause" in the batch-file that does the actual Extra-extraction, to see what happens because it took obviously way to less time to do the extraction and I was right. There were just a bunch of errors saying the OS.nb wasn't in a right format.
If I select the extraction from the .nb (normal way) everything seems to work fine, but when I continue this way (automatic pkgtool, DumpXIP) the resulting 800400000-OS.nb (in \Kitchen\temp) is about 300Kb smaller in size and bricks my P4350 if I just rename it to OS.nb and flash it.
What am I doing wrong here?

Then you have to choose teh manual way of PKGtool and select the folder \dump.....

I'm interested in finding out whats the cause of this. I also read somewhere that the soft-reset loop was caused by duplicate notifications going off at the same time. Unfortunately the top programs that deal with cleaning such problems such as SkTools, and MemMaid are also associated with the root of the problem.

Ok thanks... just tested this new release and in my P4350 has the same problems than the previous one, reboot loop.
EDIT1: Humm... It booted, finally. Going to stay with this one for now...
EDIT2: Found the reason for the reboot loop (I think)... If I enable the batterystatus plugin and soft-reset the device it enters a reboot loop until a point where it finally boots, but with the plugin disabled... going to try the previous version of the plugin to see if it makes a difference!
EDIT3: PROBLEM SOOOOOOOLVED... YEAH http://img99.exs.cx/img99/8577/yupi3ti.gif Just installed BatteryStatus v.0.04.203 build 0217 and everything is SUPER :D

Yup, same thing here... the nearest city where I can get the weather information is at about 120km away from where I live :(
There's a HTC Home version in the hermes part of the forum I think, where through a registry hack you can disable the weather tab, but for that to work you have to install the HTC Home version that they attached there...
EDIT1: xQlusive I've found a possible solution to our weather tab problem at this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319187. Going to try it now and will post the results later ;)

Been using the 4MB PP and I think ima start testing out 6MB, because I find at times that the touch screen becomes unresponsive, and also I find that I have to overclock it a little too much. I hope with the 6MB PP I wont hav to clock it to 270 to get it running decently.

Hello
a few questions regarding the ROM
1. Can I make an official update (if they release it one day) over this ROM?
2. Does it works with the Vodafone Version of the HTC 3450, the VPA Compact 4?
3. Any chances to unbrick my device if the update fails?
Thanks in advance for your help

1. ) you can assume that you can, since normal RUUs are installed in the bootloader. The current OS usaly won't interfere.
2. ) I think so, but there is no garantee. The Vodafone version doesn't look like it has strong modifications.
3. ) depents on if your device is unlocked. Usualy you need an RUU in your language. There are some RUUs in the wiki. You might want to check out if one of those will install prior to install of the pdaviet-rom.
WM6 needs a Radioversion 2.79 at least or else your mobile phonepart won't work anymore. In this case, you need to update with one of those RUUs first anyway.

I only have 2.71.9 and a tried to update with RUU_Herald_HTC_GER_5.4.407.1_4.1.13.34_02.79.90_Sh ip, but it failed, wrong vendor ID. Is there a chance to trick the device and install the ROM? If I have to unlock my device, is there a chance to do it without to pay money?

The PV Program only downloads the ROM's. It connects to a server that has a list of ROM's and then it downloads them to your computer. So I imagine that server was down, so I would try again.

That doesn't work for me, stay than in the second screen and it is also not a very gentle solution. Are the differences between the two PDA Viet ROM's are so big? Otherwhise I want to change back to "WM6.0 v4.12.07.03 For for HTC Herald"

Try to let it reboot continuously for a while and see if after that it boots... It happened to me with this same rom.
Continuous reboot loop until it finally booted correctly. After that I discovered that, every time I enabled the batterystatus plugin at the today screen I kept getting a reboot loop. Replaced the batterystatus plugin by a previous version, v.0.04.203 build 0217 (the one that came with this rom is BatterStatus Extended V. 1.04 Beta with support for themes), soft-reseted the device and the reboot loops disappeared completely :)

The main differences between the roms are the OS builds... the other differences are probably the installed programs versions. For exemple, one of the differences between "WM6.0 v4.12.07.03 For for HTC Herald" and "WM6.0 v4.12.07.05 For for HTC Herald" is the batterystatus plugin version... the .03 version of the PDAVIET's rom has the 0.04.203 build 0217 version of batterystatus and the .05 version of rom has BatterStatus Extended V. 1.04 Beta. For me, this last version of batterystatus was the cause of the reboot loop every time I enabled the today plugin. Replaced for a previious version, as I told above, and all is running on wheels :)

Might be possible but you run a high risk of bricking your device.
I downgraded to the .03 PDAVIET ROM. Just to many problems with this version. I started getting the reboot loop and found the only solution was to hard reset (at one point I let my phone reboot for 3 hours but never worked). I also had issues with psxshutxp, when ever I tried to set an action it would soft reset my phone and the settings would not be saved.
The previous rom does seem heavier and slower but at least it works proper.

This post is an exact copy of about 10-15 others, if you read everything before hand you probably wouldn't even be in that situation. Try searching vendor id and see what comes up.

Everything is working great except the vodafone push email won't work on my Herald with WM6. Microsoft push email works great through internet but that is all data I have to pay for whiles I have a "Push Email Abonnement" of twenty euros a month. Is there anyway that this can be solved?

This was answered on the second page of the thread. There is no link for Radio ROM 2.83.xx that's a Terra Radio I believe. If you have a P4350 (a HTC branded device not a Terra or Wing) you can use HTC's RUU to upgrade your radio to 2.79 and then everything will work correctly. However there isn't RUU's for every P4350 language so you must use care.

Hey, did anyone manage to fix that boot loop problem? I really hate to have to hard reset my phone... especially when I am on a business trip and I have no access to my computer it is a real pain.
Any solutions? Another update to the ROM perhaps?

So I finally got the Rom to install on my phone. Didn't realize my activesync wasn't in Guest mode. But now I have a few questions.
1)My internet explorer mysteriously diasppeared. i cannot find it and its not in the list of programs to add in the launcher. What happened? how do I get it back?
2)Whenever I send a txt message, I receive a confirmation. This isn't the one you receive when you usually send a txt, I disabled that. But now I'm getting one from "System Administrator." And it usually says "The message you sent to 112654789 has been received. What the heck is this?!
3)And for last, how do I get the E to show up. I'm not sure if there is any performance difference, but I'll feel better when it says E, rather than the G. I looked at the previous posts, and it says to do a search in the registry for a key. I can't find it. I use the registry editor, and use the tool, "find", starting from My device, but i can't find it!
so if anyone can help me with these problems, that would be great. thx!
Edit: So i figured out number 2. but i have another question. I'm using T-mobile right now, but on my phone it shows up at At&T. What's the deal?

So scratch my number 1. For number 2, u have to go into ur sms settings, and uncheck delivery notification, i think. As for number three, has anyone got the E to come back yet?

The biggest problem I have is that qwerty lay out is fine, all the letters work, however the secondary functions such as "?, %, &" don't match up. It's pretty annoying after you get used to they way the device is supposed to be laid out.
Yes I aggree 1000%. Is there a way to grab the layout from the RUU that just came out?

OH MY GOD!
this rom is more than 6 months old! it's in the very back pages. doesn't that kinda mean that the rom is old and outdated? Don't you see the build numbers (17944 or 19202, isn't it obvious??)
this is your free noob moment.
i'm not mad just dramatic
