Just wanted to know if this phone will work in the US and if so, which mobile carrier is best to sign up with. Thanks.

yes, i am using it a o2 atom exec in the US on Cingular. however, because it is only tri-band gsm, it tends to get a bit poorer reception. i would suggest t-mobile because, as i know, it does not rely on the 850mhz band, which is not supported on this unit. have fun!

Continued to search on the internet for compatible carriers in the US. Here's what I found:
Alltel communications -> not compatible
AT&T -> semi-compatible
Centennial communications -> semi-compatible
Choice wireless -> fully compatible
Cingular -> semi-compatible
Edge wireless -> fully compatible
Nextel -> not compatible
T-mobile USA -> fully compatible
SunCom wireless -> fully compatible
Sprint -> not compatible
Verizon -> not compatible
More feedback are welcome.

I have t-mobile and bought the Atom Exec from Ebay. I had to return it because of very poor connectivity - I was connected only about 50% of the time. I upgraded to the Orbit because it is quad band and am having no problems with it. I recommend that you not put your money into the Atom Exec - my experience was completely frustrating.
