This program will let you customize, backup and restore the HTC Home Plugin. Currently it lets you customize the background, clock, tab icons, and weather icons separately. Please leave your feedback as I am constantly trying to add/update the feature set. Please view the readme for details.


Congratulations, man, this is a great app for customization the HTC Home.

Tested in Schaps 3.54b ESN ROM with HTC Home 1.5, and works great.

I searched through all these pages, but I couldn't find a solution. I installed V. 0.8 but it doesn't work. I got a message that my htchome plugin is not installed, while it is working flawless. (see figure).

I am using Gullum's V6 touch version, with htc home plugin and cube and it works! Anyone with an idea. Anyway I like this app!

ChrisTytn go to www.accuweather.com and type in the town/City you are in.

When the weather page opens up, click the Blue link near the top of that page (something contianing the name of the town you entered earlier) and then look at the link in the address bar. there will be a section halfway through something like:

'EUR¦UK¦UK245¦TOWNNAME'

enter that into the CUSTOM database (along with town name and country 'United Kingdom') in your customizer and do a soft reset and it should work.

Brilliance emunutz! After reading your post I remembered that I had retrofitted the JUVS Color Tab variant after the ROM. Uninstalled it, deleted the HTCHome directory, soft reset and it all works a treat.

This is really a great tool! Was wondering if there is a possibility to hide the TAB's. This way you only get the clock and notification icons.

Another nice option would be if you could hide the TAB's but still select them by using left and right on the D-Pad, like I currently do with PocketBreeze.

1) Currently there is no way to change the format of the plugin, including the plugin header. You can change the date format with a reg key, but you cannot eliminate it completely, at least not currently.
Do you know where this registry key is and how to format it?

got a t-mobile mda touch (htc elf/touch) and would like to change the number of tabs. got 3 tabs on homescreen but need 5 or 6^^.

your customizer says i already got 6 tabs running. but homescreen only shows 3!
tried to change the htc language like some said. but it dont fix my problem.
also tried to install a homescreen plugin wich is given at start of this thread i think.
but then i only got a blank space instead of the home screen.

please help me and the other guys to pimp our devices! thx a lot in advance!

but i got my homescreen back! i`ve installed homepluginwm06.cab wich we can find on the first side. that was my fault! because of that my homescreens was blank.just forgott to uninstall homepluginwm06.cab :D .

ok I'm a noob at this. I downloaded the HTC home plug in and customizer from the first post in this thread. No amount of changing themes/icons/clock styles is actually changing anything.:( I get the same look no matter what I do. Any explanations for this? I can choose up to 6 tabs but my Today screen will only & always show Home, Weather & Launcher Tabs.....
Even when i can the Home tab to Music Tab, my Today screen dun cahnge at all, seems like it is not updating for all the tabs.
But the icons and the clock did change after i run the HHCv0.8......
I need ur advice on the updating of the 6 TABS !!!!!!!

It's a plugin called Metrix. There are two versions, 1.1 and a beta. Both perform roughly the same thing. You can get either of them here. (http://psw.smarted.ru/)

Hi everybody.

I've installed the plugin and customizer on TyTN with official HTC WM6 ROM and everything went without any problems. Today I've tried to install it on a colleague's Wizard (Orange Qtek SPV M3000), WM5. Initialy I had 5.9 MB free memory. Unfortunately my GPRS connection was broken several times and I had to start the download couple of times, and after each try the amount of free memory was decresased. Now I have only 2.1 MB free and still no plugin... :eek:
Is there a place where temporary files are stored during download? Is seems that after each try some garbage remained on a filesystem and now it has to be removed manualy.

I'm not sure why, it seems pretty simple, but I can't get the weather to update if I add my custom city(zip: 16801.) It works fine if I use one of the default cities(Pittsburgh) but thats almost 3 hours away so isn't really realistic. It just holds some random temps with a moon(even though its 6 pm.) It won't update despite the internet connection on the phone seeming fine.

The customizer uses <HHC path>\FILES\tmp to store the downloaded files. That's probably where they are hanging around at. You can safely delete any files in that folder, as the filelist.xml is DL'ed every time you go to the Download Appearances option.

Have you performed a soft reset after setting the custom weather? It seems that's what most people need to do to get the redirection for the weather working. Beyond that, I would suggest you check out the link to N2A's weather thread in the first post.

While The HHC seems to work, and I ma using .08b of the plugin, Even after I reset my ppC, I don't see anything on the tody screen.

When I go to the today screen setup ,it is selected.

How do I change the clock from 24 hr to 12 hr with am/pm? I see no option to change it in your customizer nor is it in the clock settings. The clock on the title bar IS 12hr but the large clock on the today screen is not.

There could be several reasons your device is not working, PM me with the Home plugin version, language of device, and if the plugin was in ROM or installed via a cab file, then we can go from there.

Just did a couple minutes of research and this is a system setting. You can change it by going to Settings -> System -> Regional Settings. The choose the Time tab, and for the option "Time Style", choose either "h:mm:ss tt" (ex. 5:30:00 PM) or "hh:mm:ss tt" (ex. 05:30:00 PM). This will set 12hr format. The options with a "H" are for 24hr format.

On another note, I did notice a battery bar at the top of some of the screenshots in this thread. I had it when I installed Schen's Home Plugin and Emunutz's Home Customizer individually, but after letting the home customizer do the download and installs this batter icon disappeared. Any ideas how I can get it back?

I know how to add/remove the items under the today menu, but what i want is to have the HTC home plugin screen to be the same theme, sorta like post #305. right now, the top half of the screen has the original htc home skin, while the bottom half still has the sprint default background. how do i make the entire screen have the htc theme. thanks

I would like to create my own theme, or just replace the picture in the background of an existing Theme. Is this possible? Do I need special programms?
I don't mean the option in my Settings/Today/Use this picture as background. When I selcet this the picture is very diffuse and bright.

Couple quick questions, if anyone could help, as I wasn't able to find the answers on the thread.

On the Sound tab, the last one is 'Automatic', what does that mean? I assumed because of the little clock next to it, that it changes the phone from ring to vibrate at various times during the day, but I there doesn't seem to be a method to the madness. Is there any way to configure this to my own settings (like from 8am to 5pm have it vibrate, from 5 to whatever do whatever)?

On the Launcher tab, the rotate screen option, any way to make it rotate the other way? I have the Mogul and want it to rotate so if I pop out the keyboard, the screen is already there.

Once you install the plugin, switch the language with the customizer. If that doesn't help, you may need the the sdkcerts.cab that can be found here on the forum. Beyond that, I'm at a loss :(

You cannot set a custom icon in v1.5 of the Home Plugin, but you can in the v2.0. I will be adding this feature to the next version of the customizer for v2.0 users. You have to set it in the registry at HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCHome\Launcher\#\IconPath where # is the launcher position 0-8. Use the full path to the png file. Example: \HTCHome\MyCustomPic.png

You have to change the theme on your device to change the rest of the background. There's a TON of info on these boards about that stuff, it will just take a little searching. :)

I don't use Audio Manager too often, but if I'm reading your post correctly, your using the Power/Standby button to turn the screen off. Unfortunately that also puts the device into standby. Try letting the backlight and screen timeout and see if the audio continues to play. Let me know on this one.

Yes it's possible using a program called ThemeGenCE.

I don't use the Profile tab, but I think Automatic will switch the phone into silent mode when an appointment is active and back out when it ends. I know there was a bug in some of the version of the plugin that would keep it in silent, but once again, I don't use appointments either. As far as screen rotation, I think there is a way, but that would involve hacking the DLL file for the plugin. If anyone knows how to do this, I would LOVE to put this option in the next version of the customizer.

I downloaded the audio manager from the customizer pluggin. then set it as the default music player in one of the customizer tabs but i found that it's intefering with my MMS pics + videos. all my MMS will not be able to load correctly...ie can't view any pics or videos.

But when i uninstall the audio manager, all my MMS reverts to normal.

Anyone encountered this problem?
How do I solve this problem? I really like audio manager as it's much user friendly and you can edit a track to use as your ringtone if the file is too big.

Awesome. First mod I've done to the phone and it's been working great so far(past 2-3wks). I have a problem getting weather at times but that's about it. No freeze ups or anything. Great job man.

When I select a contact for the 'Favourites' - an option box gives me the choice of which number to dial. The number you choose will be the one that is used when you select this person in the future. As far as I know the only other way to choose an alternate number is to 'Press and hold' on the chosen contact, which brings up the contact details where you can choose which number to dial.

I'm currently enjoying v2.0 THC home plugin (upgraded from v1.5) and I realized that now photo-dial has an option to select which number to dial.

In v1.5, I used to be able to "tap&hold" on the photo and it takes me to an option where I can select what other numbers to dial OR to send a text message.

Now with v2.0, that option comes up for only a split-second after I "tap&hold" and then goes back to my today screen. Is this a bug? :(

I'm used to sending txt messages this way, but now I cant...

Once you install the plugin, switch the language with the customizer. If that doesn't help, you may need the the sdkcerts.cab that can be found here on the forum. Beyond that, I'm at a loss :(


Already tried that. It didnt help. :( I uninstalled it, because v1.5 really slowed down my device.

im using htchome 2.0 build 814722 and your latest 1.0 beta 4. i uninstalled all my old plugins, the htc home app, and my old .8b customizer and installed both fresh hoping i could customize the clock on my phone but i have not been able to ever change my icons or clock ever since i first tried .8 a week ago.... i installed the 2 new apps on my wifes mogul and it works perfectly on her phone and saves and updates anything i change. inever had any plugin on her phone until two hours ago. why doesnt my phone run it right

I just installed this on my mogul, and since I installed it, I can't edit or create new contacts anymore..

Every time I try to edit a contact or create a new one, I press the ok button, and it closes out of contacts completely and goes back to the today screen with no change.. is there a way to fix this? I even tried disabling the plugin from the today screen, but it still happens.

I was having the same issue with the photo-dial. Everytime you add a new icon to the home screen, you need to launch the Customizer then exit it. It seems to 'refresh' the home screen and it has resolved my issue.

I HAVE to say a BIG & WONDERFUL THANK YOU to you emunutz, schen & all others responsible for making this HTC Home Plugin what it is today, how funtional it has become, and how well you all have contributed to making it EASILY possible to customize it each individuals needs! Right down to the Weather data base, icons, clock, contacts (able to now pick the right Ph#!), how many TABS & in what order, and being able to BACK it all UP! You all ROCK!

I have been a die hard fan since the VERY begining of the HTChome and just now loaded the new CAB. For the VERY First time EVER, everything works:D !!! I know have my weather city in there and for the very first time I know know how the brightness shortcut is supposed to work LOL! YA!

Love the new website idea devoted to the app as well. I will be a donator in the very near future for making my PPC life that much nicer to enjoy as soon as I get a few paychecks & bills out of the way first;) !

One other general comment/request for everyone. There's not much left that I can do with customizing the plugin and the features of the customizer. If anybody has tried the v1.0 BETA, you know what I'm talking about. It's much easier and faster than the v0.x series.

Having said that, I would like to start focusing on building up the online repo for live downloads. Can you guys and gals start sending me some packages and links? I see screenshots with a bunch of different icon sets around here, yet nobody points them in my direction to include in the online repo for the customizer :(

I only have the cab saved some where, and a copy of the file I perminately placed in my PPC windows folder so I always have it if I lose the icons somehow(from the GOOD 'OL days of manualy changing the icons LOL). Man I would totaly give you the link and auther if I could remember it or still had the link. I tell you what, now that I know you want it, the next time I trip across it in my threads and posts I will copy all the info and give it to you;) . Maybe a search for "iPhone colored icons" might come up with it, hmmmm....

Just tried the normal version of 0.8a! It's looking great, downloading goes smoothly. But whatever I do, I can't select a background (empty list). Downloaded them all and all the directories are there. Other items work fine.


I haved the same thing, but not only with backgrounds, I have it with everything.

after that the HTC home dissapears and then I have nothing to download. and yet it stops the function of scrolling in contacts.



When you change the language through the customizer, it renames 3 files...

1. \Windows\HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml
2. <path to HTCHome.dll>\HTCHome.dll.0409.mui (Could be in \Windows or \HTCHome)
3. \Windows\HTC_HDlg.exe.0409.mui (v2.0 plugin) or \Windows\HTC HDlg.exe.0409.mui (v1.5 plugin)

By replacing the "0409" part with your language code. Could you check to see if those files were actually renamed? (It's possible they weren't if the plugin was cooked into the ROM.) If this is the case, I'll look into a more "forceful" way of changing the file names for the next version.



I did it also with HTC home customzer, the labguage would not change. I change the country codes with Total Commander, anyway, the language would not change.

Using the selection process there is an option to select the Transparency level. Play with that, it should do what you want;) .

Got my mogul 2 weeks ago. spent a week looking for apps I want. I love HTC home but My alarms do not work when i have home plugin on and the backlight auto turns off. Once i turn backlight back on any missed alarms go off one after another. is there an app conflict?

DigitalDeviation was down because it moved to a new host. It seems to be back up and running now, so v0.8 users should be back in business.

About my site, you're right, it is VERY new (only 3 days old). If anyone is using the v1.0 BETA, you should post your issues on the forum there. There are two known bug reports currently, but once I get some time, they should be trivial to fix.


For everyone's information, the two known issues are:
-Issues loading the program on non-English devices. I think this issue has something to do with system/registry path names.
-An IndexOutOfRange error pops up sometimes when making changes. We're working on finding the source of this error right now.


If anyone would like to help get v1.0 to final a little quicker, download the beta at my site and post any bug reports on the forums there.

I came across this error today with the beta. The plugin still works, you just need to either soft-reset to re-enable it OR go to Settings -> Today -> Items, uncheck HTC Home, hit OK, then go back and re-enable it. Could you please post the problem and what steps you took on my forum?

v0.8b from the first post is the most current stable release. v1.0 is in beta right now and I will update the first post as soon as it goes final. I also jumped from a scripting language (MortScript) to an actual programming language (C#/.NET). The new version is MUCH faster and will have more features than the previous versions.

I just tried runing your Beta Customizer, and it has GREAT potential to be realy awesome. Keep it up DUDE!

Here is my 6TAB iPod icon Today screen in the first attachment. I had this theam on when I uninstalled the old VERY stable and VERY easy to use I might add old customizer, and then installed the Beta.


When I first tried the new HHC app I saw the SAVE and LOAD tabs I have circled. I tried to reload the saved file I made from the old HHC app and nothing showed. And I am not sure if the SAVE button here will save my curent Today theam OR only save the default options above. I would like to resave my curent theam that I have on my phone with this app. See the second attachment. How can I do this on this new app?



On the options screen if I select the Backup will it back up the Today screen settings that I currently had on the phone in my first picture the way it is? Or will it only Backup the options that this app lets you pick in the Apperance Tab? Your old HHC app would back up what ever icons I found & changed. Also can you explain how the check boxes work and will affect the plugin that I have a "?" beside in the picture?

P.S.- BTW I love the added weather feature you added to check the radar and long range stuff with:D , VERY COOL, and a supper nice touch:cool: !

Yes the new customizer only backs up settings to xml files, but not only of the HHC, but also all of the HTC settings like contacts, launcher apps, etc. The main reason I did this is to save space on the device/memory card (10kb vs 2+mb). If the theme is already available in the customizer's FILES directory, then no extra space is taken to backup that theme. And remember, the customizer can stay on your storage card, which means no extra space taken there either. :D Plus the customizer needs to be installed to fully utilize the backup/restore function, so I think the theme should be available on the device anyway to switch to/from later. There's more reasons (speed, consistency, etc.), but overall I think it just makes sense this way.

And with the theme Save/Load stuff, Save is to save the current appearance set as the name in the "Name for New Theme" box. It will then populate in the theme list and be saved to the themes.xml when you save on exit. Once in the list, you can Load it anytime you want.

The speed and funtion is a great idea how you have done it but I ran into trouble trying to Backup my current iPod theam that I had already on the phone before I installed your Beta HHC. Look at the Pics for the ERROR info, it did not work for me at all to backup, so I also could not test the Restore funtion. I also could not restore my old Backups, as this Beta HHC DOES NOT seem backwards compatible with your older HHC versions Backup files:( . Making your new version backwards compatable might be a good idea for those like me that already have a lot of theams stored already so we do not have to start all over;) .

How do you do this? Is it through the ... box to browse for the PNG files? If it is, it is almost imoposible to find what you want by the MANY files by just there numbered names! Is it possible that you would be able to incorporate a special interface that when searching the PNG files that it will show a small THUMBNAIL picture of each PNG in the list like on a PC?

The bug you have run into is fixed. I forget to add error-checking on the custom icon implementation. (For everyone) The workaround for v1.0 BETA 4, until I release the next beta, is to make sure all 9 launcher apps are set and you will be able to save.

To make you own "Custom" folders:

NOTE: Use the themes.txt file attached below as a reference.
1. Create a new folder (with any name you choose) in each of the following folders in the <HHC Path>\FILES folders:
bg
clock
icons
weather

2. Using the themes.txt, copy the appropriate files to each of the 4 new folders you just created.

3. Load the customizer and your new appearances will be available from the dropdown (v1.0) or the listbox (v0.8b).


You can optionally copy all the files to the same folder because neither version of the customizer cares what's in the directory, it just copies them into the plugin's install folder. If you are going to use this method, you should put that single folder in <HHC Path>\FILES\weather because that is the last folder from where appearances are applied on exit.

The benefit of using the first method is that you can apply each part of you custom appearance separately. Also you could package them up for anyone to just drop into the customizer or to be included in the repo if they aren't already.

I have attached the themes.txt file as a reference if you are going to split them properly.

As far as backwards compatibility, I will not change the current behaviour of the backup/restore routine. I *MIGHT* add an option on first load to import your old backup. What the customizer would do is break apart that backup and place it in the 4 appearance folders with whatever name you choose. The keyword in that paragraph is *MIGHT*, no guarantees but just what I would do if I implement it.

You will see at the top right of the weather icons it says "-->More" tap on this ONLY if you have a DATA connection as it needs the internet connection, and it will take you directly to the weather sources site to the page with your Cities current weather info on it already. There you will see these options as well as MANY more!:cool:

1. Create a new folder (with any name you choose) in each of the following folders in the <HHC Path>\FILES folders:
bg
clock
icons
weather

2. Using the themes.txt, copy the appropriate files to each of the 4 new folders you just created.

3. Load the customizer and your new appearances will be available from the dropdown (v1.0) or the listbox (v0.8b).


You can optionally copy all the files to the same folder because neither version of the customizer cares what's in the directory, it just copies them into the plugin's install folder. If you are going to use this method, you should put that single folder in <HHC Path>\FILES\weather because that is the last folder from where appearances are applied on exit.

The benefit of using the first method is that you can apply each part of you custom appearance separately. Also you could package them up for anyone to just drop into the customizer or to be included in the repo if they aren't already.

I have attached the themes.txt file as a reference if you are going to split them properly.

As far as backwards compatibility, I will not change the current behaviour of the backup/restore routine. I *MIGHT* add an option on first load to import your old backup. What the customizer would do is break apart that backup and place it in the 4 appearance folders with whatever name you choose. The keyword in that paragraph is *MIGHT*, no guarantees but just what I would do if I implement it.

I installed it on the Hermes, but was not able to get the weather updates. I am using the cable network through the Lan for internet. Will it still download the weather through Activesync or not.

I also wanted to know how to configure to get the battery level and memory level on the Home screen.

I installed the program on my Touch with danish language.

When the Touch restarted I had no Home Svreen.
Then I changed these files:

HTCHome\HTCHome.dll.0409.mui -> HTCHome.dll.0406.mui
Windows\HTC HDlg.exe.0409.mui -> HTC HDlg.exe.0406.mui
Windows\HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml -> HH_0406_WeatherCities.xml


Then I restarted the Touch and now I got a Home Screen. The only difference from the default Home Screen is that I now have 4 buttons. Home, Weather, Launcher and Music. (Music is new)

I cant find where to change the Home Screen.

I should be her:
USAGE
1. Go to Start -> Programs and launch the HTC Home Customizer.
2. Use the program.
3. Close the program. Once complete, the plugin should reload automatically and you should see your changes if you made any.

But in Start --> Programmer I have no "HTC Home Customizer"

It's called PSW Metrix 1.1. There's 2.0 beta version there, but it doesn't fit all 4 status bars on one line, it wraps the brightness setting down to the next line (really annoying).

Yeah, actually I did. I wrote a little frontend for popstation when DA first hacked PS1 emulation on the PSP and made a couple custom art packs for PS1 eboots. Ahhh...I miss playing my PSP. :D

Yes you can do it this way. It's in Machine\something\something\till you get to HTC folder and you find the audio player file. You change that value from 1 to 2! I used to do it that way;) Don't waste the time though, The option is now in the customizer settings, saves work:D!

You are probably correct. If you can find out what number (if any) is assigned for that program put it in there, or maybe just try a few to see if the basic ones might work. eg. 3,4,5,6 since it sounds like you have the other two players installed. I myself would try uninstalling Audio Manager first SR, then install your app SR again, and then see if it gets assigned by default to number 2 in the REG files. I am not an expert but failing a expert speaking up right now, that would be the two things I would try before calling the support for the app and asking them if they knew.

Good luck as I am not familiar with that app.

use the htc customizer to change number of tabs....

go to htc options... then choose TAB ORDER

from there, you will be asked how many tabs you would like... then the order of how the tabs should be displayed... :)

the home customizer eats up a lot of storage space... check your storage and make sure you have around 5 mb to make sure your universal does not hang

Emunutz, changed over to the NET version (b4) and this app is so much better and less battery hungry! (I now get a good couple of days charge instead of about 12 hours!)
Keep it up, it gets better every update!

bleh, you need to find a theme that has your image in the tsk. the problem is that it is 'greyed out' because the tsk is competing with it, and therefore bleaching it.


btw, great app. simply great. i'm getting closer and closer to the setup i wish. and, it's only taken 2 entire days, lol.

now, if this phone is like the moto q i used to have, it'll be about 3 more days before it keels over dead, fried :)

Timothydonohue, I found out elsewhere what the problem is and how to get around it...

To use your own Background image together with a theme you need to locate the image and view it as normal by clicking on it in explorer. Then click on 'menu' and select 'set as desktop', which will then ask you to set transparency. Set this to Zero (0) and OK, and you have your own Background.

Very simple really! (once someone on the forum told me how!)

Your JOY should be tap email Tab, tap Menu, select Options, and at the bottom of the list in the window.... Wola New AcCount....;)

Add your setting in there, works a treat for multiple accounts! I don't know what your GoodLink email does any different than say a Hotmail account would so it should work fine.

Did you do a new install, and a SR after installing? If there was an old version or other in before you should start from scratch if SR does not help. Also ask the dev of the app if you need to do any reg change for your language, I have seen other post reg changes for that sort of thing. That may be a hang up for you before a HR last resort;)

I downloaded the customizer from the beginning of this thread, then it asked me to download the WM 6 version. I downloaded all apperences, and soft reset. My screen is still at factory and nothing seems to work. The customizer doesnt recognize the home plug-in or something. Please help!!

I realized what I was doing wrong, when you hit "Save" in the bottom left, that is actually the "Apply and Save" I was looking for. When I did that and exited the program I saw the changes I made in effect.

My question is, when I click the 6th tab (Profile for sound), I get the 4 phone options (Normal, no sound, vibrate, and automatic). Right below shows the ringtone I'm using, but when I click that (the ringtone), it goes to Settings for the Phone (Location SEtting, Roaming, TTY Mode, etc.).

Is there a way I could customize this button so that instead of the Settings for Phone (which is really useless to me), it could lead to Sounds and Notifications?

And as a side note, for my mail (pop3), whenever I send/receive, it goes into "looking for changes" and never comes out of there. Anyone find a way to fix this?

So I installed the customezier.live and downloaded the audio manager. It didn't work. I read every posts that was brought up under the Search function on this thread dealing with this issue.

I have found the cert, but on a different site, installed it and it didn't work.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the audio manager. That didn't work.

So I visited the thread by MR. Vi and the audio manager on his site does work but I don't have any button control from the home screen of the player. i.e. play, next, previous. I tried switching to WMP and still no control.

How do I get this working??

It's been mentioned quite a few times, but NO, there is NO way at this time to remap those three tabs for other funtions.

You should have a CONTACTS softkey, or a spot to touch on your TODAY screen that will open the app. I do! What device are you running? Also there are other today launcher apps that you could put a luanch tab on the today screen with as well;) .

One question for you, i have read the compatibility list of your great piece of software, and my Athena x7500 is not supported.
The icon and the screen is very difficult to view correctly for the different resolution vga.

You have idea or rsolution to solve the incompatibility problem, or you have a previson to develope one new more compatible version for this gread Smartphone.

I would uninstall everything, SR, and reinstall the home plug to your device and only install the customizer to your card(after you delete the old stuff on card from before). This is the best and a very stable way to do it, as all the downloaded stuff only fills your card and the home plug runs direct on your device;) .

Can anyone tell me why tapping the email icon brings me to my MMS folder instead of my inbox? I want it to go directly to my Inbox but I can't figure out how to do it. I do have the MMS hack installed and if I uninstall it, tapping the email icon does bring me to my inbox (I need to have the MMS hack installed though).

As long as you have the latest HTC Home plug version the customizer should work just fine. Make sure you have all other versions uninstalled and SR before you reinstall the new ones, and after you install SR again and all should work.

If you still have problems, try downloading a new cab file as the one you have may be corrupted and lastly, maybe some other program or app is conflicting and you may have to do a Hard Reset, and install this first, and then reload other apps one at a time. SR after each one to find out what one may have been the problem;) .

If I get what you are asking, I think that the grey you see is similar to the Shean Spotlight icon cab(or called something like that) that a long time ago was one of the optional icon packs you could directly paste into the Home folder. If you can not pick a icon set that is on the Customizers website for icons you like, you can do a search through the threads for some of the original icons that were made that did not have this greying feature. I don't know if xda had these cabs & zips to, but they were found in the HTC Home 5TAB & 6TAB threads over at 4winmobile.com. You will have to do a search there and you sould find what you need;) . After you find them you will have to mannualy copy and paste them into your HTC Home folder mannualy and over write the originals as I do with a custom set that I prefer:cool: .

On second thought thinking WAY back to those days.... I think it may well be cooked into the actual Home plug version. I belive it is in the home plug program itself. That is why you should look on 4win as there was a flury of posts about this exact same issue and the optional home plugs that did not have the greyed highlight tab! You will have try a couple to see which one you like;) .

I liked the one that ONLY the icon would pop up and brighten leaving the background transparent. HEY MAKE THIS OPTION IN THE CUSTOMIZER!!!!! It is SOOO much COOLER looking:D !

On the main clock, I have it set to the original. Right now, instead of displaying the time as 8:42 AM, it's showing it as 08:42 AM. What do I need to do to set the program to only display 8:42 AM instead of 08:42 AM?

Found a Solution -- copied shortcut from Windows folder to Start Menu... took some hunting but was able to locate it.

I would like to add the 10 button comm manager to the app launcher screen, but it does not show as one of the options in the Customizer pulldown. I can find the application through Settings > Connections tab (called "Wireless Manager"), but do not know where the drop down is pulling the available applications list from.

Since this is the main thread for the Customizer, I was hoping that somebody here might be able to point me in the right direction or tell me how I how I can add this to the list of available programs.

So it seems the fine folks at HTC have put my Wing together upside down. No not really but in the instance of using this program (and many more out there) it seems that the nice "Rotate Screen" button puts things upside down. Has there been a fix for this? I believe the Mogul is in the same boat. Otherwise I love this program and the fixes. Awesome job.

I wish it would. For some reason, the clock is ignoring both hh:mm:ss and h:mm:ss formats and continues to show 24 hr format. I can change between H:mm:ss and HH:mm:ss, but when i select either of the 12 hour formats, it continues to show H:mm:ss. I've unistalled, reinstalled, changed regions, changed formats... nothing seems to make an impact. Any other ideas? I'm running the WM5 version on a Wizard.

UPDATED: For others having this issue, I was subject to an "unscheduled" rebuild of my wizard when a soft reset hung on the Windows Mobile screen. I installed the HTC Home customizer and then the HTC Home Plugin first and everything is working fine (well, Weather's still an issue but I prefer Weather Panel anyway). There must have been a conflict with something I was running. Now with all applications reloaded, still working great.

Anyone know of a tried/tested black dialer skin that works on WM5? Running the HTC Home Plugin with the HTC black theme on my Wizard and I really like it. Now I just need a matching dialer.

read this whole thread and cant find the "HTC Home Plugin Customizer v0.8b (Live Downloads!)" file......where is it?

There are two possible causes that I've seen. First is that the tab order setting is set up improperly. If you run through the Tab Order wizard in the customizer, it will set it up properly for you.

The other issue I've seen is on non-English devices. The home plugin is set up for WWE (World Wide English, basically US), and if your device is set up for a different language, the plugin will not show at all or show incorrectly. To fix this, the new version of the customizer has an option to select a language for the plugin from a fixed list. Go to HTC Options -> Change HTC Language and select yours from the list. If yours is not in the list, please let me know so I can add it to the next version.

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this same bug, but I will attempt to explain. Granted, this is not the end of the world by any stretch, but it's just something I noticed that I thought I would point out. I have done several hard resets, and ran the customizer before any other software, and also tried it after installing all my software. It always happens no matter what.

This bug happens right after installing the weather fix using the HTC Home Customizer. From that point on, double-taps are required to access many of the functions that used to be a single tap. For example, when I open SMS/MMS using the icon on the home screen, and then close SMS, and then click on the Outlook icon, nothing happens. If I click it twice, it opens. This particular issue happens to me every time.

I've also noticed a similar issue occasionally when clicking items on the start menu. It appears to highlight the item (signifying that it read my tap correctly), but does not open the program. It just sits there highlighted. I have to tap it again. This particular issue is intermittent. It actually happens rarely compared to the other issue which happens all the time.

I can confirm that neither of these issues happen for me before I use the HTC Home Customizer to customize the weather tab for my local city.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong on my end or not. I am running the stock HTC ROM on a Kaiser, with NO programs installed (as I said, I've also tested it with many programs installed). If I perform a hard reset and don't touch the weather, this issue NEVER occurs. As soon as I apply the weather fix, it starts happening.

Can anyone else confirm this issue?

My only question is can it be loaded without the 2 envelope/phone line directly under the clock? I use SPB phone suite which gives me additional functionality and would love the additional screen real estate.

sorry besides reading all 11 pages, can someone tell me is there a way to reduce the clock size and ability to "lock" the clock so if I click it, it won't open to my clock adjustment? I seem to do that alot. :)
