Super! Now Ameo all the way. Throw away all the 'supporting' phones and let Ameo travel along. :p
not to be a downer but as much as i like that case i refuse to use the keyboard with my phone when its not in a case, do to the fact that i think it two easy to drop, but i like the case its just not for me or anyone else who wants to keep their phone i one piece :D

Wow! I emailed these guys in June
"Your Product info:
Item no: 94117
Color: Black/Beige
Included: SpringClip
Hi,
Ihave used a lot of your cases over the years (currently two variants for the Orange M600). I have a T-Mobile Ameo (HTC X7500) and the dimmensions of the above case is quite close to it.
(Dimensions 133.1 mm(L)x97.7mm(W)x16mm(T)
Thickness with keyboard: 20 mm
Weight 355g (with battery)
Would you design one soon for the ameo? Or would it be easier to just change the edges (thickness cover) to an elastic/stretch fabric for the Ameo?
I was going to get the above case but it would be a very tight fit. Have you tested it with the Ameo? Can you comment at all? "
And this was their response
"Dear Al,
Thank you for your interest in our product.
As you looking for a case for T-Mobile Ameo, unfortunately we do not have a special case especially for this device and we do not have any plan to make production.
However, after comparing dimensions of your device and our product (133.5 x 98 x 16 mm) as mentioned, the case might not fit the unit properly.
This case “Pictor with Multidapt® - L” is our universal- alternative case having the biggest dimension in our assortment. Indeed, our universal alternatives have fixed dimensions that we rarely have product development. But, our product designers and product coordinators will concern about this matter further anyway.
Best regards,
Krusell customer support "
They could have save us a few quid and the hassle of searching for a decent belt case. DOH! Anyway, better late than never. They do good stuff and I've always fovoured them.

I want to have a case that protects every corner of the athena that still allows to open him that has a belt clip and that is closed by more then just the keybord magnet.
If there is no case that can do this then I'm also happy if 2 together can do.
Does the Athena fit well into the Belt Clip case without any left space or suspens?

This was definitely a good find and it does not feel heavy at all when it is on your belt. Get it while it is hot you won't regret it.

If that is the same as the HP Ipaq 6315 case, then it won't work. I bought it for a fiver and it doesn't fit. Not even the keyboard will fit in. Too short (lengthwise, if that makes sense). Couldn't be bothered to return it as it was that cheap.

Mine fits just fine with the keyboard! It was tight in the beginning, but in less than a week it has stretched enough to let the unit with the keyboard slide in and out with just the right amount of resistance.
I think that this is by far the best choice to date! Just make sure that you also order the large 65mm belt clip and metal button! Plastic clips don't like me......LOL ;)

I ordered one of these cases from PremierTek and will report back when I receive it. It looks like it does not have a mechanism to hold the keyboard in. It uses the magnets that are in the unit to hold it to the face of the unit. At least when they do it that way then you can use the information display that the factory case will not let you use due to its thickness. This may be an issue though if I find myself dropping and destroying my keyboard.
I will know soon enough and you can save your money until then if you like.

Just received the case in the mail today via USPS - and wow, that was pretty fast shipping also! :)
And I have to say the case is excellent! :D From the pictures I posted earlier, you can tell the Advantage fits just like the stock HTC case. And the keyboard is attached magnetically just like the stock case as well! This is THE Advantage case I was looking for. Almost just like the stock brown HTC case, but in a black leather book style with a strap for extra security, and of course with the subdisplay window and a belt clip. The keyboard can also be used just like the stock case with it attached - it works the same way. IMHO, for the price this case can't be beat. I expect PremierTek to be getting a lot of orders for these. ;)

Let us know how the belt clip is. Is it comfortable? Does it hold well? Is it durable?
It seems to be pretty durable. The belt clip portion pretty much looks like any other standard belt clip. The part that screws into the case is made of metal and plastic, and looks to be sturdy as well. A small instruction sheet said to tighten the screw part into the case tightly with a screwdriver or wrench.
The screw part attached to the case does detract from the looks of the case, and it also can't lie flat because of it. A small trade-off I think for the functionality. The screw in piece is metal and the part that connects to the belt clip is plastic. Under some good pressure I put on the round plastic tip that slides into the belt clip, I could barely get it to flex. So it seems like it should go the distance. But of course - to each their own, and YMMV. ;)
As far as comfort, I'll be wearing to work tomorrow for the real test. But briefly having it on a belt with my shorts seemed comfortable enough. And the belt clip is a push-button quick release type and comes off easily enough. Living with it for a while will be the real test. :)

Those who buy the PremierTek case will find an inherant problem with it.... it WILL allow the keyboard to SCRATCH the Athena just like the stock case!!
The only way to hold the Anthena and the keyboard together is to get a case with some kind of cover between the Athenas screen surround and the keyboard... the best being a leather 'front' for the screen surround. the only problem with this is that the external display doesnt usually then work - but who actually uses or even looks at that?
I bought http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Leather-Case-for-HTC-Athena-Advantage-X7500-U1000-AMEO_W0QQitemZ150151432793QQihZ005QQcategoryZ15036 QQcmdZViewItem and apart from the keyboard holding magnet being slightly wrongly placed it is well made, cheap and it stops all scratches (and hides the ones you already have!). Plus if you ditch your keyboard which lots seem to be doing in favour of using the on-screen one, then it still holds the Athena nicely. Only extra it could do with is a belt clip!

Looks good. I have the invisible shield on the front so noscratches ever!
@Whoster69, the camera faces inward (towards you) when it is worn. The rotary/swivel action makes it comfortable to sit, drive etc.
Athena has cost me much more in accessories than any other phone I have owned, with trial and errors on cases, bt headsets etc

The camera's facing towards you, with the subdisplay away from you - making it easier to see if a call comes in. I guess I could take some pics, but again - it's just about like the stock case but black and with a belt-clip, strap and subdisplay window. This is the case HTC should have provided with the Advantage! :)

Maybe because it's a PDA with phone capabilities and not a phone! Even if you have it on your belt you cant answer calls with the thing even if you wanted to. They probably thought that it would be safer in a bag, and using a bluetooth headset.
Still I think the biggest problem is with the fact that it will still scratch the case of the device - and if you have to buy covering to stop that then there's an inherant fault again in teh design. We need something like this but with a thin front leather cover to the screen surround, then it would be perfect.... also does it hold the keyboard with a magnet to the case flap? If not it needs that too!

Not bad at all really. You know it's there, but it's not that heavy where it gets in the way when you're walking around. When you sit down, the quick-release belt clip works very nicely taking it off your hip. I haven't had any issues with scratching as some have mentioned. Although the Advantage's metal casing does seem very durable.
Before getting this case, I was carrying the Advantage around in my pocket w/o the keyboard. It's nice to have the keyboard readily available for when you need it. So IMHO, this case is well worth the $19.98 it cost me from PremierTek on eBay. There are a few expensive cases on the market for the Advantage now, like the Piel Frama, etc. But I haven't seen anything yet that's comparable in functionaility, and that it's less than $20 pretty much makes it a no-brainer. ;)

No problems on my end. It's not a long screw - you just need to be sure to tighten it in.

After a week of having this case the belt clip broke right off. The screw was still in the back of the case, but the thin plastic ring that connects the case to the belt loop came off in a circle of plastic. I totally baby this thing too. I hate to say it, but this case works for a while and craps out just when you start to rely on it.

I've been using mine daily since I've gotten it, and no problems so far. It does have a 1 year warranty though, so you may want to contact PremierTek and let them know.

From the pictures I had noted that the clip was the same as on the Bluetrade case. It also broke after a few days I was sent a replacement clip from them which lasted less than 24hrs! As soon as the case is subject to some leverage the clip breaks as it is a very cheap brittle plastic. The excessive distance the screw sticks out from the case causes this high leverage.
The Krussel case, although it is a bit stiff and bulky however has got a perfect belt clip, have had no problems with it and I can't see it breaking at all.
Over the summer I used the Proporta case http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=759&t_mode=des which is great as it can hold earpiece, cards, cash even some coins in the zipper bit. It has a belt loop.

Here's a link for the Krusell case in the US: http://www.sfplanet.com/product/94117
Note: Just for the clarity, from the link above, it seems it is Krusell, not Krussel.
It looks like you close the device up and then place into the case instead of having it hold the device even when it use. Is that correct?

Not having to always carry it. Also, having the window to see info when closed also a plus. But not a quality build unfortunately. Sigh. that elusive perfect Athena case remains just that. Hi all,
Finally today I got the genuine case for my Ameo after wating for 4 days, what were made by bag-maker. The leather is excellent but the case is a bit big for the device. Actually it does not satisfy me 100%, but it looks OK.
Next week I will order another case for the device only, not for the keyboard. Some fotos for you

The sad thing is about this case is that I know they are going to want us to ship it back to them for warranty support and then you are throwing good money after bad for a product you know is going to break in a week or less. Now that is bad news. I am betting Premiertek is wishing they never decided to carry that thing.

I bought the premiertek case from Ebay & yes the belt retainer broke but it is a standard item that I simply bought a better replacement for from a phone accessories shop. Also Krussell provide a large belt loop which also takes the premiertek case no problems. I use this one when I am wearing a belt and the clip on replacement one from the phone shop when in the track suit.
Just watch the Krussell belt loop though because enough upward pressure on the Advantage will disengage the pda from the clip - like if you sit on a small chair for example.

This is one of the things I dislike about the Krusell case. Coming out of the car (after a short drive) is a good example. It is usually just hanging on so could fall off as you step up and out. I do tend to use the loop (threading the belt through the case; much more secure) as well for long distance use. Still it is the best so far, for my needs anyway.

I got the same one but got a replacement from the Verizon phone store -- two clips for $5 and they both fit. So this seems a viable solution.
HOWEVER... WARNING!!! The case unsnapped and phone fell from belt-height to concrete floor! No damage done, but keep a good eye on things! Note that the clips keeping the "head" aren't secure enough to keep it secure when the case opens. I did have a bad moment...

I have the same black case. After about 2 weeks, somehow the front of the belt clip itself shattered and my X7500 fell to the floor, snapping the post but fortunately there was no damage to the unit itself. I found another identical looking clip and post from a cheap case for another phone, but the spring didn't seem as strong and I'm now relunctant to trust it.
The eBay description says it's a 2-pack, one rotating, one not. If it is the same pack, does it include replacement posts?

Wow, I just got the case and it is perfect. It handle the device with or without the keyboard. It also has an accessory compartment that is way from the device (for SD cards, etc...).
This was definitely a good find and it does not feel heavy at all when it is on your belt. Get it while it is hot you won't regret it.

Hello,
I bought a leather case with belt clip for my x7500, but after 2 weeks belt clip broke. I fund another belt clip (like verizon spare one) but after a week the plastic tab on the case broke.
After spending time to find a new tab to screw in place of the broken one with no succes, I thought for another solution using the original HTC case.
Idea came with my wife showing me new clothes she just bought. There was a spare Jean's type button with it.
I try the size of the button with the belt clip and it matched perfectly. So, I fixed it on the HTC original case. You could be surprise but this type of button is strong and ones fixed you have a metal tab that support big effort.
I can put some photos when I will find how to load them.

Hello,
As magnetic effect is not always strong enought to maintain the case closed, I simply used an elastic tape usualy used for clothes and did an elastic ring with. This is clean and maintain the case closed as showned in photos below.

The never-ending search for a case. I'm glad to see there are so many options. I've had the Premiertek case (found on ebay) for a few days and as of today the clip backing broke off, and the post mount has come unglued so it could come completely off with very little pressure. Only thing keeping it on now is the round disc that is sewn around it, but that won't support the weight of the unit.
So, my 2 cents for this thread are that I found the Tough-as-Nuts case (link below) and its on its way. Not even close to bargain-basement, but it looks like in this case you get what you pay for. It has several options (pouch, tab closure, full closure, metal belt clip, leather belt loop, over-shoulder strap).
Has anyone else tried this case?
