Fat or Fat32?

Which is more fast?

totally depends on the card and size. A quick search of google will show various reports and none say which is fastest. On some cards FAT32 is faster, on others its FAT16. Some work better with different cluster sizes also.

The only way to know is to benchmark your actual card in your actual device. I use Pocket Mechanic to do this and decide on the best format and cluster size. For my Sandisk UltraII it was FAT32 with the largest cluster size it would accept. With my old Viking 1gb card it was Fat16

With a FAT 32 format I get stuttering and interuptions when listening to music which is located on the SD Card. I don't seem to get it with FAT16.

My card is a Sandisk Ultra II 2GB. I am running the B&B 3.5 ROM and latest radio.

My MicroSD is Transcend (the best) 1GB with Fat32
