I tried the Indian (SEA-English) version of the ROM. I dont see any difference in the ROM. Also I see that the Rom Version is lower than what we had before.

Can you guys help me out, I was not able to do the upgrade because I git the error "invalid vender id". I read NOW that I need to unlock the cid first? I was trying to do so but I cannot get out off the screen that says SERIAL.

I tired a hard reset and it still goes to the same screen. Is there something else I can do??

i think u need to flash the right version for yr model if u haven't unlock cid.

Thanks royalman, I finally got it out of the bootloader but now I cannot get it to do the automatic cid unlock. It freezes the x7500 when I run the SSPL-HERM. Am I using the wrong unlocker program> I downloade the Hard-SPL(2).zip but like I said it freezes. When I skip the SSPL-HERM file and go straight to the unlock app it does unlock the cid. Than I wait 10sec and soft reset. Than I try to install w6 and I STILL get the error "INVALID VENDER ID"

What am I doing wrong?

I ran into the same situation two weeks ago and the way out is to winrar the exe file and, while in the bootloader, use the update file for the ROM you previously had.

Hi All.
Flashed the ENG version of the Dopod U1000 WM6 ROM yesterday evening and loaded it up fully with all my apps.

No problems to report as yet...benchmarked it with SKTools and it was marginally slower than the first wave of HTC WM6 ROMs we got through Tupsin.

Anyway works a treat but the network wizard didn't pick up my network and auto configure it like the HTC T-Mob version of WM6 did. So I did it manually...very easy and minimum of fuss...happily surfing the web now and receiving MMS etc.

Too soon to tell, but no instability to talk about as yet.

Also I don't use backups from previous builds/ROMs any more either...something always gets corrupted when you do that. All fresh install...no issues.

Now I'm gonna test data transfer via Active sync. Previously with WM5 Ameo and WM6 Ameo/HTC ROM I always had to use WM5torage to transfer large data files across...A/S would always struggle and start over ...never actually copying anything over at all.....so gonna give this a try.

I'll report back....and on Windows live.

Update: Neither Windows live, Messenger or A/S want to play nice...no joy at all.:( However WM5torage v.1.75 worked first time flawlessly.:)

On another note, even though the ROM version seems older due to a lower number, I don't believe that to be relevant..the actual ROM date is considerably newer as are other indicators i.e. protocol version and Radio version etc.

All in all IMHO there's no good reason to switch ROMs from the one WM6 to the other unless you live in Asia..as you will get the localized Network wizard to pick up your country and network and you get CB Voice dialer (something like that) as opposed to the MS one. Oh and you get a fancy HTC logo as your boot-screen/splash-screen.

Performance is about the same. Like Olipro said...they really are all one and the same ROM and additional customizations by network providers are indeed minimal.

1.network wizard not working properly, because DOPOD's rom is built for asian setting. i have to maually set it up as well for local setting.

2.restore from previous backup set won't work. maybe it read the ROM version info or they might call the external storage in different name which stop restoring correctly.

3. MSN/Active syn/windows live both are working fine for me. login without problem.

Fianlly, I'd like to say i use the HK-CHT rom.

To everyone else...the benchmark results of SKTools is now up to 310.8442....therefore proving that both ROMs are pretty equal in performance.

Having said that though...this new one does feel a bit snappier...no delay in response to most tasks.:)

Anyway that's my preliminary testing done. Just checking over the next few days for stability issues, but don't think it will be any different from the other WM6 ROMs.

Yep, you have to take a chance sometime otherwise you'll be waiting for ever before you can join the fun:D. However I am only taking carefully thought out baby steps. Well, the device booted and everything seems to be okay so far. I am review the configuration now to see if all is working.

I did not use the romkoch itself but I did use the dutty's nbh tool. However, I did not just blindly use that tool because I was concern for structure of the NBH and did a comparison with another official NBH.

Bottom line, you can use dutty's NBH tool for the OS and Extend ROM only. I have not tested anything else. Also ensure your device is SuperCiD and the device to choose on the tool is ATHE100. As always try it at your own risk.

I am using tazdios tools as well as others. It is a little cumbersome right now and I am not sure I am doing it right yet (hint, the reason why I have not flashed anything I cook to my device yet:D).

While in Bootloader mode, try to install your WM6 rom by running the rom upgrade utility from your pc with your X7500 connected to your computer. It will work. This had been discussed a lot of times in the past. Please take some time to read through other posts.

So searched the forum and every info I found is that the phone have to be connected to active sync.

The problem is I can't find any info on how to get out of that 3 color screen :( to boot up again and connect activesync.

Maybe somebody can give me a link to update a WM5 in order to connect again.

It looks like the update process of the U1000 rom, even with an invalid vender id, wrote something, or maybe there is just a key combination to get out of that mode.

I tried the upgrade, didn't succeed, so I thought just turning back to my old rom and that's why I posted a message here, not to get rid of the error message, just to turn back my phone to the "default" mode

Removed SIM and SD card, nothing changed.

Finally found a WM5 rom on xda's ftp server. Juste flashed, putted sim card inside and power up. Seems to boot, only have to check why don't have phone connectivity, falls back in flight mode always.

Edit: After few reboots, phone is working again :)

Finally, I managed to upgrade to WM6.

Strange thing I noticed, pictures doesn't work. When I want to take a pic, screen remains black, and pressing the button give me a msg there's a problem.

Anyone else having that prob ?

After upgraded to wm6, I noticed several shortcomings for the upgrade, all because the hardware or softwares can not keep up with wm6. Firstly, vito audionotes in which autocall works best under wm5, now works improperly under wm6. First instance, before audionotes can differentiate incoming calls and outgoing calls made by a specific contact, such function disappeares. Secondly, my Jabra 250 can transmit all sounds from the U1000 to bt headset under wm5, now only transfer the phone calls to Jabra 250.

These are compatibility issues, and not shortcomings of any software or hardware :D

The versioning in the OFFICIAL ROM could be different. a 2.20 T-mobile, just to give an example, could be newer than a 2.23 DOPOD.

For OS you have to check in settings>ABOUT , I have CE OS, 5.2.1437 (build 17944.0.3.1) and is the DOPOD WWE (I think is the newest)
For RADIO settings>device informations
For IPL and SPL on bootloader colored screen or be fast reading during startup phase
