I bought 2GB microsd card (PNY brand).

It works fine on Hermes but my toshiba satellite laptop inbuilt card reader doesn't recognize it. It tries to install the software but then asks for the software cd. No software cd came with the card. I tried to search internet with different drivers but no luck.

The inbuilt card reader reads 1GB microsd fine and so as other regular sd cards. It just has problem with this 2Gb microsd.

What can I do to make it work?

I've had similar problems. It could likely be down to the ability of your actual card reader guts (board / circuit) as to whether or not it can recognize the card size or not.

But, in some cases, this isn't the case and from what I have read it can be a software driver that fixes the problem.

If you get nowhere with this problem and its NOT the card that is the problem, then I would invest in a newer usb2: SDHC card reader. (CHECK first the specifications of the reader though)
