I have tried NewMenu program but doesnt work correctly. Any other method or software to assign a key or click to instantly compose a new sms? Really miss that on this non touch screen device!

Thanks,
Ajay

Create a shortcut:

49#"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to ""-body""

then add a speed dial.

Open notepad, just past
49#"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to ""-body""
and rename the file New_SMS.lnk
Copy this file on your smartphone in /Windows/Start Menu
On your smartphone, press start and select the "new_SMS" icone and then with the menu, you can add a speed dial to this "application".

Additionally, change the "Contacts" right soft key to launch the shortcut.

Registry edit:-

Create the registry key called "keys" under:-

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Home\

You should now have: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Home\keys

Under this new key, create another key called "113":-

You should now have: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Home\keys\113

Now under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Home\keys\113, edit the "Default" Datatype "String" value and put: Create Msg (or whatever you want on your button

Then Create a new "String value", called Open
Enter the value: (Path to your shortcut) e.g \Windows\Start Menu\New_SMS.lnk

That's it! (You may have to click on "Contacts" for it to change, or even reboot)

Now your Contacts button is called "Create Msg" and should launch your shortcut

Cheers

.....
Or you can delete the shortcut and put this as the value instead:
\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to ""-body""

Include all quotation marks.
