View Full Version : Who wants the ATT WM6 rom?!??!

None of the above in my case. Exactly the opposite:
1) BT works better. My car's Handsfree works better and faster.
2) It tooks the same time to connect to the network.
3) Data connections are as fast as possible and robust.
4) Nothing about Roaming in my case.
It will have other issues, of course. But in my case, this ROM is simply much better than my old 1.16 Vodafone ROM.
Same here. I'm not using a car kit, but I've found BT performance to be significantly improved. I do use my Treo 750 as a wireless modem for my Macbook Pro. I used to have to use Modem-Link and USBModem on the Treo to obtain a reliable connection (along with various modem scripts on the mac).
The WM6 build uses an app called "Internet Sharing" which allows one to establish a BT PAN. All I have to do from the Mac is join the PAN and I'm on the net. I don't even have to connect via a modem script and BT performance is good enough that I don't feel like I have to tether via USB cable. I'm reliably getting 455 kbps down and 255 kbps up without any problem.
Also, phone performance on WM5 used to suffer when being used as a wireless modem, but that is also much improved. I can switch the internet sharing app on or off at any time without problem. I used to have to reboot the phone regularly under WM5 after using it as a wireless modem.
Now ... if I could only find a way to tell WM6 to not automatically block internet images in HTML email I'd be happy.

Just a word of warning for those that want to use this rom. It works, sure... but there are issues. There are other small issues here and there, but I sure hope this isn't even remotely the final beta for AT&T + Palm!!
All, please realize that the thread is titled "Who wants the ATT WM6 ROM". It is not the Vodaphone, Rogers, 02 or any other 750 ROM. So yes, if you use any other device besides the ATT 750 and any other network besides ATT you will run into anywhere from A FEW to A LOT of issues. There is a very good reason that each provider does their own ROM.
This is simply not ready for public use!
Umm...hence the adjective "leaked" ROM. So even if you are an ATT customer expectations should be tempered. But from everything I have read it is almost flawless for ATT customers.
Neither ATT nor Palm have any culpability here. So please do not post telling people it is a bad ROM, especially when you don't even bother to list all of your device/carrier/software specs in your signature.

Thanks everyone, it worked great the first try for me. I even used Vista to format my 2gb miniSD card fat32 first. (no problem)
Bluetooth works great with voice command now. (Jabra BT8010)
I'm very pleased with the upgrade. It was totally worth it so far!

there is more to life than posting ones info in your signature. you have 5 posts in this forum and 3 of them are telling people that they should put their info in their signature.
i have used many different windows devices designed for many different countries and never had 1 tenth the problems that i am having with this rom. this is a forum for people to help each other by sharing info, and sometimes that info is about problems. ask a question or answer a question, thats how it works

Hey man take it easy. You know that is the point of this forum. We achieve things here that are not possible in the carrier stores. I purchased the 750v Treo on the Former AT&T Blue because I need an unlocked device to stay on this service and because I have no patience for waiting.
I have many hacks and tweaks from treocentral and xda because thats what we do. I post the connection settings for AT&T for anyone I can because there are lots of questions lets give some answers.
I installed WM6 knowing the odds of having a problem and I have been surprised with only having one problem with Speeddial #1 - Voicemail. So my quest will cotinue until I solve this or the 750v WM6 upgrade is out.
So thats my story and I am sticking to it.

I had the same problem today, and no matter how many times I formated the card and re-copied the file over it did the same thing. I had changed the name of the file so I wouldn't confuse it with the wm5 file I have in the same folder. I downloaded the wm6 rom again and it worked like a charm.
I have held both the button down and pushed the reset button for long periods and also for short periods and the outcome seems to be the same. it worked both ways for me

Dang, I have to wait another 80 some minutes to download from rapidshare again! haha, oh well... I guess I'll play with it a lil more and see if its just not copying right.

You don't need any tools, just HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ EXT_FLASHDRV
"MountHidden"=dword:00000001 change 1 to 0
You can delete the contents in the extension-rom.
That's excactly what I did. ;)
But what I ment was, that I tried that and that it changed nothing.

He means if you can replace the splash screens from AT&T by another splash screen ;)
You could have a look at RadioPowerOff.bmp and RadioPowerOn.bmp in your Windows directory. Maybe you can replace them using TotalCommander ;)

Hey buddy, I noticed that you showed a zip file entitled tr750 WM6; is this the entire file for what's needed to upgrade to WM6 (Treo 750) or is it just something that dumps the registry from the fresh install? Kind of new here and trying to learn, so please forgive my ignorance:) ... just wanted to know before I tried to install it.

I installed it on my AT&T 750 with now problems. When reinstalled my Spb software afterwards, I didn't have any of the problems I had when I first installed the Spb with WM5.
My BT is working great. Connections are quick. So far, no issues. Now if you'll excuse me, I must find a really big piece of wood to knock on. :)

I haven't heard back from summiter just yet (hasn't been long), but if what he posted as a zip file is not the entire WM6 ROM update, would someone please share the files and/or links with me? It would be greatly appreciated.
Also, it would appear that several people are using their storage cards to do the install... is that a requirement? Can I do it via my desktop? If the storage card is a requirement, would someone be so kind to give me a step by step process for this? I am not too familiar with doing this... thanks:D

The miniSD card is a requirement as far as i know. It's pretty easy to do. Just follow the instructions in the first post here and remember to format your card with FAT32 before putting the file on it.

Unfortunately no. You need to have wm6.
If you want to try anyway, you can activate it in Start/Settings/Today/Items and check HTC Home.

I've found two working links in this thread just in a real quick browse of this thread.. Both a depositfiles link and a megaupload link.
Your error indicates that the file isn't fully readable - either it's corrupt, or not all there.
Re-download, reformat your mem card fat32, put the file on the card AND properly remove it from your PC (IE: make sure the write cache is flushed before removing), and try again.

OK, you've got the whole thing. Do you happen to have another mem card you can try?
If not, go ahead and reformat it again, fat32. Then move the file over to the card, and do an "eject" or "safely remove" - this will ensure the write cache is written to the card before taking it out of your card reader.
Then try flashing again.

So far so good.
Upgrade went smoothly, all my apps have reinstalled perfectly.
Bluetooth to my car (Lexus LS430) works much better - I now have signal strength displayed and I can transfer contacts to the car addressbook for the first time ever (from a WM phone).
Email instant search works great. USB cable charges Treo now too.
No issues at all currently - it all seems to work perfectly (ooops, now I've said it I am sure it will delete all my contacts or something).
But after a good 24 hours of heavy use (calls, handsfree calling, exchange sync, web browsing, RSS feeds etc etc) it seems very solid.
Even the busted ATT carrier logo has been fixed to read AT&T properly now.
The SPB Today Shell theme colors look great with the WM6 bars (see attachment).
Only issue I have found is that PIE+ v.2.2 doesn't line scroll any more (no biggie). Also had a funky "javascript not supported" problem logging in to Passport but I worked around this. Doesn't seem any faster than WM5 but I didn't have any speed issues before so that's OK.
Worthwhile upgrade for me - if I don't find any new issues I might even stick with this after the official release comes out - if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Use this to check the md5 checksum on your file:
http://www.diamondcs.com.au/downloads/freeutilities/md5.zip
As far as going back to WM5 - well, if you truly brick it then no I'm afraid there's no going back to anything. If you merely do a bad flash but can still get into bootloader mode, you can flash to WM5, assuming you have it.

Has anyone yet tried to compare default registry settings with known WM5registry speed tweaks (e.g. Enable FileSystem cache, increase FileSystem filter cache, Disable window animations, etc)? Reason I ask is that I've already made those changes (have reg file compiled) and would be easier ;) if someone thought to compare this ahead of time (i.e. pay attention to before and after performace).

I am lookign for the hack for Cellular Video if anyone can repost it.
thanks.
No hack is needed, you just need to modify the internet explorer User Agent. Realplayer is already installed and will launch CV when you press play on the CV site.
A) Just make sure the AT&T proxy is not disabled. Start the proxy manager and make sure "force AT&T proxy is checked.)
B) Use the .reg file (if you have a registry editor to import in to) or use the .cab file from here to change the user agent to the AT&T 8525.

C) Make sure you just down IE completely and re-start it after making the changes (press and hold OK, press stop on IE.)
D) Click the "Cellular Video" icon in the Program folder or simply send IE to http://cingularvideo.cingular.com/
By changing the user agent, the phone will identify itself as an 8525 and the CV site will give you access. If you are identified as a Treo 750, it'll show you "Only for supported 3G devices.)
Just use the .cab or .reg file for the Treo 750 to return it back to the orig. setting.

Glad ya got it running.
Hey Summiter, thanks for the reply... is there a specific size mini SD file that I need to use or will a 1MB work? Also, I can't seem to find a card reader that works for a mini SD; I presume I need to get an SD adapter.

Hey there Themcknights -
a 1GB card will work just fine - the ROM image is only approximately right around 82 megabytes or thereabouts and so forth and so on and whatnot and what have you.

I think you mean 1Gig, not 1MB. :) As eluder pointed out, a 2gig is only $20 at Circuit city.
Usually, a miniSD card comes with a adapter to get it up to SD size. You won't need to buy an adapter. Just check the box before you pick it up. I've both 3 cards, 2 minisd and 1 micro, and all came with adapters.
Good luck.

OK, I was having a brain fart...::o :) I was thinking 83 "GB" instead of MB, probably because it was taking a LONG time to download. I downloaded my WM6 from zshare... Do you know if the link from zshare is a good place to get WM6? Here is the link that was posted from another gentleman http://www.zshare.net/download/2950630e093ae5/.

See above. Price matching should be no problem.
Looking at more detail, this appears to be a different product, though it's in my "minisd" results. Regardless, the register tenant either didn't notice or didn't care. This item is also in their weekly ad.

I'm confused---like you said it is def. a different product, it's not a miniSD card it's a regular SD card. I think you just got lucky and had a predictable apathetic employee who didn't know any different.
Oh well, I wish the deal was for an actual "miniSD" b/c I would jump all over it.

I've installed this on a 750v... Initially it can place phone calls, but the first time I try calling my own number from another phone it will simply return a "Number out of service".
From this moment the 750v won't place any calls. Data (WCDMA, HSDPA) works ok, SMS works fine, only voice calls won't work.
I tried my SIM on another Pocket PC and it works fine. I tried someone else's SIM on this Treo 750v and it fails too.
Any ideas?

I only found 2 sets of issues... 1. I had a couple of programs that are duplicated (notes & camera-they say notes & notes1 and camera and camera1). 2. Thanks for the suggestion; I actually did the hard reset, but my problem was that I was using Sprite backup to restore everything, and something must have gone awry since it happened twice... since it was backed up, I can always do a restore if I just HAVE to have something... so I settled for just reinstalling the few programs that I had on there... It works flawlessly for me. Much faster and its almost like my earpiece volume is acceptable now... if anyone knows of a program like volume care that works with Windows Mobile, please let me know... thanks again...

I applied the new ROM to my locked UK Vodafone 750v and it worked like a treat. I'm really happy with some of the new featurs of WM6 - especally the Live integration as I'm a hotmail user.
I've got one big headache though and I REALLY hope someone can help. I'm finding the screen comes on all of its own accord and I often have trouble getting the screen to turn off. With WM5 I just hit the 'hang up' button after enabling the key lock and the screen would always go off. With WM6 i'm finding the screen often wants to stay on and then turns off after 1 minute. Then some time later it will come back on again.
Why do I need such urgent help? Let's face it - the battery on the 750v doesn't last that long compare to blackberries and other devices. Well now it's even worse - help! :(
I really really hope someone can help - thanks in advance,

I don't know whether I'm imagining it but when I set up a 'live' mail account along side my Exchange one it seems that the problem is worse. This may just be my paranoia though due to frustration at this problem. I have now done my 5th hard reset and made minimal changes to the today page. I have read in this thread that some people have seen better battery life with this WM6 ROM and some who have experienced worse.
I have been playing with this ROM for a few days and I am delighted with it EXCEPT for the fact it murders the battery.
Previously with WM5 I have never ended a day at work with a battery below 25% but since I upgraded the ROM I have ended the day twice with a *dead* battery.
I have even switched from 3G to GSM and still run out of battery.
In my experience this isn't even close - I would say this ROM depletes battery ~50% faster than the WM5 ROM.
I am sticking with it because of the other benefits (bluetooth, email search, exchange addressbook etc) but if the official ROM is no better I guess I'll be looking for a bigger battery.

I forgot my charger at work last night so I've gone two days now, and it still had half its battery left, even with normal (well, normal for me) usage.
I use push mail with exchange server. So, the internet is always connected which is kinda the point on gprs and 3g - it's not being used but it is always there. I never had this 'backlight coming on all the time' issue with wm5 and im using wm6 in exactly the same way as wm5.
I'll try playing with backlight levels as another user suggest. While I have been typing this message I noticed my backlight came on for a while yet again... it's horrible :(
OFTEN when i press the hang up key the backlight goes off and immediately comes back on again. This happens no matter how many times i try and so i just give up and wait for the auto backlight off function to kick in. It must be related to some process that is running in the background as other times the backlight turns off with no problem.

I owe you a drink!!! Wow!!! Total nuttyness here. If I set my backlight to the level that you have yours on now the phone keeps coming on. If I on the other hand set my backlight to the level you had a problem with (1 above off) things are working GREAT it seems!
So - i have the reverse situation to you - after several hours it seems that things are exactly how I want them to be. I'll report after a couple of days to confirm whether things are still cool or not.

also files you deleted will exsit there after soft reset.
@pls test like this,
1:CUT&Paste 2 files in there to Mobile Device root folder.

Now Extended ROM was empty.

Mount ExtROM succeeded, but Unlock failed..
I deleted "Partiton" folder and copied some files to ExtROM,

Yep WM5 loadss fine after a soft reset
I am not getting this. After you flash the ROM, how a soft reset is going to bring back WM5? Is not supposed to overwrite the ROM so you will now get WM6 always? I am not sure what you mean, as if WM6 is on the SD only and boots from there, which is not the case. Of course I would like to have that option in case something goes wrong. Please explain,.

Hello, I go the early upgrade file for WM6 for ATT Treo 750. Before I attempt an upgrade I have few questions:
- Will Push mail work after an upgrade. I have a copmany provided Push mail
- Will the Sync ML work ?
- Does this upgrade contains HSDPA as well?
- What is the rollback steps - if I want to go back to WM5 - Where can I find ATT WM5 file for Treo 750 ?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,
I am trying to upgrade the phone with WM6 and here is what I did so far and I need some help:
1. Got the CHEEIMG.nbh file
3. Put that on to the miniSD card on the phone
3. Plugged the charger with Phone
4. Press and hold both the PTTApp Button (lowest button on left side of device) + Pin Reset (next to miniSD card slot).
At this time phone shows 4 solid color bars
From top to Bottom
Red (Text says Palm Tr IPL-0.20
Green (Text says Palm TR SPL-0.21.0000
Blue - No text
White (Text says Serial)
and it just sits there and never ask for an upgrade
Can someone tell me what's wrong or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks a lot.

So, I took the plunge and upgraded to the leaked WM6 firmware last week. And, I realized that so far there wasn't a summary of some of the valuable changes in this release so I thought I would take a minute to comment on some of things I really like about the upgrade.
Having said that, I am aware of one documented issue with this version of the OS which is the problem with the phone coming out of "sleep" mode when it shouldn't only when the display brightness is set below 50%. Other than this, I have yet to discover any issues.
Now, I do not use bluetooth devices and I also don't use voice command so I can't comment about those options one way or another. I use the phone for business and personal use mostly as a phone and for e-mail. I have corporate e-mail with Exchange setup as well as Hotmail through the integrated Windows Live feature.
Overall I highly recommend the upgrade. Here is what I like (in no particular order) compared to the original WM5:
1. When on a phone call I now get two touchscreen buttons to enable/disable the speakerphone and enable/disable the mute. This is FAR better than having to open a menu and choose the option from there as the soft button is always right there on the display ready to switch modes. In the past I really could never "mute" the phone because it took too long to switch. This new feature solves the problem completely. Fantastic!
2. I can completely disable the "autocorrect" feature when typing. With WM5 I seemed to often "miss" letters as I was typing because the phone would pop up possible words as options. I never used that feature, found it annoying and it slowed me down from typing due to missed key-strokes. I now shut it off and I am very happy and no more missed characters. Also, for those who do use this feature, it is completely customizable in terms of word completion, etc.
3. Meeting requests - WM5 had a bug where a long location entry in the meeting request would not completely display (e.g. a dial-in conference number with passcode). Previously I had to go into edit mode on the meeting request to see the full dial-in number. WM6 resolves this bug. I am a happy camper.
4. HSDPA - Works very well. I previously tried to use the HSDPA hack but I never saw it working and I always felt like it somewhat destabilized the phone as I would experience some strange behavior (lockups, etc.) which I could only resolve by removal of the hack and hard resetting. I like that the phone automatically bumps up to HSDPA for data transmissions then back down to UMTS to save battery life all on its own. In contrast, I believe that WM5 devices which support HSDPA don't do this automatic switching based on feedback from people I work with who have the Blackjack - HSDPA will very quickly kill their battery when enabled.
5. HTML e-mail - looks good and works very well. Nice upgrade.
6. E-mail attachments - in WM5 I had to open the e-mail, click the attachment to indicate I wanted to see it and then manually launch the sync process for Exchange or Hotmail. With WM6 when I select the attachment the phone instantly downloads it for me and opens it right up. Very nice!
7. Modem/laptop tethering - I used to use PDANET to tether to my laptop. WM6 has internet connection sharing included and it works great! No need to use PDANET, I get HSDPA speeds, and the service works well and is automatic. Excellent!
There are lots of other smaller changes/fixes/enhancements, too many to list, however I think I captured the really meaningful ones I have found.
Other considerations:
Speed - some people have reported that the phone is "faster". I have noticed that the display/menus appear to operate faster than WM5, perhaps the display driver was rewritten and is better than before. Basic processing speeds appear the same to me and I wouldn't expect much difference.
Calendar - some of the views have been updated/enhanced. The calendar is a little easier to read and the updates are appreciated.
Battery Life - I never got great battery life on the device. Overall battery performance feels very similar to before, possibly slightly worse but tough to tell. I have not loaded up lots of applications and I wonder if some applications others have installed may cause faster battery depletion in WM6.
Overall, this upgrade resolves some significant issues which always irritated me with WM5. As a business user, WM6 although basically the same as WM5 truly addresses some major usability problems I had previously experienced.

You didn't mention instant search in email -this is one of my favorite features. I sync 2 weeks of mail and to be able to find that one mail I was looking for in real time as I type is incredibly useful. Go to inbox and just start typing. Works perfectly.
The ability to read rights-managed messages is also valuable.
Finding contacts online through my Company Directory is also appreciated.
I also like having a keyboard shortcut to go to Today in calendar (Menu-G) - there was no way to do this in WM5 other than the on-screen icon.
The free-busy bar at the top of the calendar is growing on me too.
And yes, bluetooth works much better too.

If I unlock the extended rom and delete all the content, then if I do a hard reset after, do that mean that I will have a Treo with WM6 AND without all the ATT personnalisation ? (if so, it will be the perfect rom for me :D )
Thanks,

That depends.. ..if ATT made changes to the ROM itself then you can't delete it. But you are right about the Ext.ROM. Things that are deleted from that folder won't be installed ;)

Newbie question--
When you run ICS in WM6 on a 750, that will use my unlimited $19.99/mo data plan, vs the $60/mo laptop tethering plan, right?
Essentially the same thing as running PdaNet, w/o needing to install PdaNet?
Am I wrong or does it seem like ATT wouldn't want to allow that if you're drawing in several hundred MB per month.
Thanks guys.

Gotcha.
OK, so has anyone gotten AT&T PO'ed at them for using a ton of data on their Treo (whether net browsing, PdaNET, or ICS) w/ a MediaMax plan?
I ask b/c I just moved into a HSDPA area & haven't gotten home internet set up, so I'm using my 750 w/ WM5 & HSDPA hack as a primary internet connection. I used to average 75MB/mo, but at this rate, I'm almost averaging that each day.
Also, there's no speed difference b/n isp.cingular & wap.cingular (except for the web browsing pic compression)? The HSDPA download speeds are tolerable for a primary net connection (just web browsing), but the upload is damn slow.
Thanks.

I have mixed feeling regarding the WM6 on the Treo 750
All previouse problems gone: Always get ring sound, the SD never disconnects...
Also I now can't leave with out the internet connection sharing.
The device locked up ALOT i found out its the activesync, I have about 150 contacts with about 20 with pictures and about 300 synced schedualed events, plus not too many mails,
Activesync works really slow and slows down the entire device when active, sometime it freezes the device, I used to find that it is stuck, so I changed the activesync to manual schdule and since then 4 days without soft reset.
I used to sync every 15 minutes and not "as items arrive" to preserve battary.
I also have a problem with iGO gps software that loads compresses, I think I pinpointed this problem to a GAPI problem, I started MorphGear and used manul driver, when GDI and raw framebuffer the display is ok, with GAPI the screen is compressed like in iGO,
Any chance its possible to get old GAPI drivers from the WM5 Treo 750? which are the files controlling GAPI?

Hi,
Here is a really stupid beginners question:
I've downloaded the wm6 upgrade, but after Upgrade all personal Informations(SMS,MMS, Pictures, Email, Contacts...) are lost, right?
So, Pictures, Emails and Contacts shouldn't be a problem, because it's synced
to my PC via ActiveSync.... but how about SMS, MMS and so on?
Is it possible to backup them and restore after Update?
Thanks for the help...

Anyone noticed improved battery performance (that is if you had poorer battery life after WM6 update) when mounting extended rom, wiping default setup stuff and hard resetting device? I feel I did, definitely noticed more pep to the OS behavior, but feel the battery is doing a bit better too. Went an entire weekend (allbeit with very little phone or internet activity) between HSDPA and 3G and battery life was on par with WM5 behavior (for its worth). So far today with normal phone and internet activity still seeing WM5 comparable battery life.
Just thought I'd share to see if anyone else feels similarly.

Has anyone tested Nokia Intellisync on the WM6 ROM? My company runs Intellisync to sync Notes email to remote devices and I don't want to break something by accident.
Also, how would one "go back" to WM5 if something doesn't work out?

Can anyone here give a straight answer?
There is so much technical BS here that I've gone crosseyed already and taken a double dose of exedrine to help the migrane.
When I get stuck or focussed on something that I want... I need it and at this point I NEED to upgrade my CINGULAR TREO 750 from WM5 to WM6.
I have flashed phones before... too many to count... but for some reason after 23984298 tries I still get stuck on this multicolor screen that has the PALM version numbers and stuff like that.... with the word SERIAL on the bottom... Im sure you all know what im talking about... its been up here numerous times! :(
I've even tried the multiple different download sites and versions and the one for Cingular with the two files... and the separate loading of those files. Also tried to get a third party bootloader... that didnt work either... I feel like a putz right now b/c Im prolly the 3247826583454365398 person to post this without getting it done.... AND I DONT GIVE UP.
If somebody can post a how to with pictures or even call me collect and walk me thru it...lol... Im desperate to get this done!! I need to, first of all, feeel better that I can do this and, second, I'd love to know WTF I was doing wrong!
Any help is greatly appreciated... and I'll even share a laugh at my expense with you if you can tell where and why I am such a putz!
The last thing I want to hear is... Oh u have a Cingular phone... its not possible with them! That would explain it but then I am just take a large calibur shotgun to the dome... just kidding... dont need the police comin to my door checking for my body... :D
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Issue I had was needing to format to fat32. Used this trial tool, worked like a charm: http://www.cnetx.com/format/download.asp
Good luck
PS Not being a smart-ass nor trying to get your BP any higher than it appears to already be, but remember that this is unofficial and not supported at this time. If you trully need wm6 functionality for business purposes then you should get a device with supported wm6 OS. If its THAT important to your business, wouldn't you want something that you will get you provider support - if you brick your phone with an unsupported flash, then you're on your own and SOL. Just trying to put things in perspective. Again good luck and "serenity now".

I'll try the link... thanx for the effort of replying! But i just wanted to comment and rejustify... I dont need this for business use... i have just put so much blood sweat and tears into getting this to work that I feel like a schmuck if I cant do it but other ppl can... I think only a few ppl can relate to that... i feel its some form of OCD personally. I love to debug and troubleshoot things as well as build from scratch and rebuild broken things so I guess it's just me... but once again... HEEEELPP!!
I can almost gaurantee that if somebody helps me do it I will return the favor ten fold and post a very complete and detailed way with pictures on how to succesfully do this with bricking anything or anybody!

Yes, these are great too although I still can't comment on the BT functionality :( !

My brother just told me he was able to greatly improve his battery life on a Moto Q just by disabling the GPS Location service (he left 911 service active). I remember WM5 had this option on the Treo (and I had that disabled) however, I can't figure out where to go to disable this on the 750? I see the icon for disabling the external GPS receiver but I think that is something different . . .
Thanks.

Hi,
I've just upgrade my Treo 750v (french vodaphone branded, unlocked) with the WM6 version posted in the forum.
Everything was just fine untill I understood the Treo could'nt receive the incomming calls.
I can call normally call, send SMS, MMS, use the Edge connection for IE but can't receive calls.
I checked up the settings for forwarding calls and it seems OK.
Anybody encounter the same problem ? Someone has tested the WM6 in a french 750 ? With Bouygues Telecom ?
Anybody knows how to fix the problem ?

Delete ONLY the capackage file, don't touch the carrierdb file or you are going to loose the autoconfigure network parameters feature.
Not big thing but you have to configure th apn, the mms settings, the proxy (if needed) and so on.
With the carrierdb file all the parameters will be set automagically on the first SIM insertion.
All the AT&T crap is inside the cabpackage file

You are partly right, carrierdb is (obviously) needed for the auto network configuration but there is a second copy of it in the windows directory, so is safe to delete both the files in EXT_rom

Has anyone noticed a major performance boost after updating? My ATT 750 seems to be running a lot faster even though it is using about 15% more memory. The only "bug" I have been able to find is that Voice Command still will not announce through my bluetooth headset, which is a major inconvenience but every rose has thorns.

Which i succeffully upgrade WM6 and also unlock extrom from the discussion previously. However, i found that the position of the my bootlogo has some offset and color has been different (not sure? i don't remember what it was previously) as well.
Does anyone know how to change the bootlogo picture or how to adjust the position?
