FYI tried installing the cab from Shogun's site (shogun_cingy_Threaded.cab) and I'm still getting the Out of Memory error when I try to send MMS. FYI I'm using an AT&T Tilt with the stock ROM. Man I wish this was fixed; I love the Palm threaded and would love it even more if the MMS part was 100%.

I also wish I could figure out why my MMS doesn't even work with messages under 300k (hell under 100k) and it seems to work for some others here.

Shogun I have only one suggestion/request. Please start versioning your cab file names so it's a little easier to determine which is the latest version. For all I know the cab I'm using isn't the latest (hell I've tried 3 different ones; first post, shogun's site and treocentral one) and that's why my MMS isn't working.

Bump...

I am wondering if there is a new version as well. The one I have (from post one) does NOT work for MMS on the Kaiser.

This is a nice program - only thing that I'd like changed is a way to move the reply input area to the top so that if you are using an onscreen keyboard, you can see what you are typing.

That's gonna be difficult!

My wife has a palm 750 (with the legit original palm threaded app) and the onscreen keyboard takes over the typing window...

it was designed to use the qwerty keyboard below the screen...

The program works like a charm for most people with keyboards but I thought maybe when you selected a thread group, if you pressed the onscreen keyboard - it could potentially be used to trigger a "new" message to that contact so it wasn't really a reply - this would give you the messaging on top. Not really a full rework of the program just a trigger mod to the program. The "new" message of course would show up in the thread group.

lol :D...we all feel your pain! i'm sure you know that this app was designed for a device with a keyboard...it would be nice, though if one of the geniuses here could modify it so we could see what we're typing!

Make sure to go to Notifications and there is an option for "New text message (Palm)"(something along those lines). In there you can change tone or turn it on.

When using the native mms application, the phone terminates the MMS connection automatically after sending the mms.

I can send and receive mms just fine with the threaded mms application, but have to manually turn of the mms connection. Also, it randomly connects to the mms network when i start mms threader. This doesnt happen when the native mms programs is handling mms.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Could just be a network issue, I've had this happen occasionally with the built-in SMS app. Also some have reported issues if you close the app (vs minimize) before the message has fully sent.

I ve had this issue for some time as well. Seems as though it resends an old text message when ever I type a new one. It sent some text messages several times, so much so that i decided to remove this program. Hopefully there will be a fix soon.

Hi, which is the latest cab for palm sms?

http://shogunmark.com/default.aspx has 2 version.

Cing/ATT threaded app
Tmobile USA threaded app

whats the difference? I thought the sms settings are retrieved from the sim card when you authenticate with the network.

thanks

Hey guys, How do I completely uninstall this from my 8525?

I'm going to make the assumption that the standard Start\Settings\System\Remove Programs\ didn't "completely uninstall" it, so how about sharing what didn't uninstall? Is SMS or MMS no longer working? What seems to be the problem?

I used the typical Start\Settings\System\Remove Programs\ to uninstall the Palm Threaded App, but I am still getting my sms through the Palm app instead of the default sms system.

Hey,
I have the issue when using HTCHOME and clicking on the SMS icon - I get POUTLOOK & the Threader app launch.
How do I stop outlook from lanching? When I click on the email via HTCHOME outlook launches just fine.
Thanks!

I am on call this weekend, and when I change my text messaging notification, it does not change for the app. How can I get it to change (either by Registry) or just by changing a default.wav to what I want it to me?

Please let me know.

Thanks!

I read more and I must have skipped over the Message: New Text (Palm) option.

I wish I could set it up for only people that are not contacts.

I too have this problem, I just bought my HTC Touch today, after being a 4 year+ palm user, so this application is a must, and if there was a way that it would resize when the keyboard mode is entered, that would be fantastic.

Has there been any update to this app?
I have a AT&T Tilt, and am able to send and receive sms, but even when sending a 27k mms, it gives the not enough memory message. I see others have had the same problem.
Any news on a fix for this?
Has anybody found a work around, or another application to send MMS?
I am using the shogun cingular cab from his site.

Hi:
How do you use the standard MMS? I had this installed, and when I tried to send MMS i could not find a way that would work. I tried sending through threaded, and got a memory error. I tried going into messaging, then selecting MMS, and it would just hang, like it was trying to open. If I went in to menu (even though the screen is hung up on blank screen, menu is still visible), and select new mms, it opened Outlook e-mail, and of course wouldn't send an MMS.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I've heard that but don't have that problem. If your using some kind of task manager that closes everything when hitting x than you need to add it so it doesn't. You may just be closing it with x by habit before it actually sends if not I dunno.

I was getting double ones because of that when I first started using it.

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the site, but it's made my life so much easier! Anywhoo, I am running both PocketCM and the SMS threader apps. When I get an SMS I get the popup notification, and then PocketCM seems to intercept it and open it's SMS application.

I really don't like the PocketCM SMS app, but the Contact Manager is amazing... does anyone know where I can find an application that does has a similar interface for contact managing as PocketCM, but that does not interfere with my SMS threader? I've been looking for quite a while now, and I just want to be able to use the SMS threader/a decent contact manager/Dialer skin(Touch by JPL4) in harmony.

You could just make sure to exit out of pocketcm all the way, (not minimizing with x but actually stopping the program, this is in settings) Then SMS will be not intercepted, I use both with no problems.

PocketCM 0.17 is now out as a .cab tried it and you get the choice of how to handle sms, works well, also works with Touchpal as well, which .16 didn't.

Hi:
Can you please explain to me how you are using threaded sms? So, you use threaded sms, and pocketcm for mms? I am not really interested in the contact app etc, but I would love to be able to use threaded sms. Will Pocketcm still allow me to use the default contact app? If I did decide to use Pocketcm contacts, would that then make duplicate contact entries if I use the default one?

Thanks so much, and sorry for so many questions :)

You don't need PocketCM to have threaded Messaging. Palm Threaded SMS is what you need. I'm using it at the moment with the default contact App with no problems... I'd recommend downloading the Palm Threading App that was recently ripped from the WM6 version, thats what I have and have had no problems... just install the .cab for that and you don't have to worry about the PocketCM at all

I normally use ROM's that don't have that arcmms program installed so when I install threaded sms it does everything. I'm with at&t and since the network is preset I can send SMS and MMS just fine and it all stays threaded.

Alright, I got the original shogunmark.cab that started this whole mess for my HTC Shadow and it works freakin great except for the fact that there's no "back" function within the program....I'm sure this has something to do with the fact that this app was intended for phones with touch screens. So, I was wondering if there was a fix for this, so I don't have to close and restart the app everytime I get a SMS from a different person. Any help is appreciated!! THx!

Palm threaded SMS/MMS

kaiser_threaded

Run this one first
shogunmark_wm6_threaded.cab (1.94 MB)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XH18OSQD

Run this one second
PhoneService2.0.cab (2.47 MB)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7M2L0KN3

Run this one third
Palm Resize Fix.cab (4.31 KB)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RAS7X7HO

Thank you,

I can confirm that this works. I sent an MMS to myself and was able to receive it. I recommend if you already have the threaded sms cab installed uninstall it and reboot your phone. Install each cab one by one and reboot between each one. No need to install Arcsoft MMS. Hope this helps you guys out.

I don't know if its just me but this will not let me send an MMS from the camera mode.

I have to shoot a picture and then open MMS to send it.

I do save my photos to the SD Card so maybe that is why.

One thing I did find is that sometimes when I'm typing an SMS message to someone it wont let me use the backspace to delete. It's annoying because I have to take the pen, highlight what I want to delete and then hit the backspace to delete it. Anyone else having this problem? Fix ?

HAs anyone been able to fix the keyboard from blocking the input screen on the thread messnger

I don't use this app anymore since 6.1 but I found this info awhile back and kept it just in case I ever needed it.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip\Now

go to DragStyle and change (0) to (1)

Then you can move the keyboard where you want. I tried it awhile back and it worked fine.. Hope it helps..

I have been using this for about four months and love it. There's one thing that puzzles me, however, and I have a feeling the fix might be simple if I was more knowledgeable.

I use Mark/Space Missing Sync to sync my AT&T Tilt with my MacBook Pro. I don't own a PC. Before I installed this threaded app, my text messages were being synced to my computer. Since the installation, they aren't. I assume this is because the threaded messaging app saves the messages to a file that isn't recognized by Missing Sync. Is there a way either to put the messages in a file that can by found by Missing Sync, or to manually transfer them to my computer? Since I've never owned a PC, I'm pretty confused by the file structure and names on the Tilt.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Thanks

Works great , thank you

Did someone find a way to solve the blind typing ?

Once u open the message, click on Menu->Call Sender->Menu->Send Text Message. This open a new blank screen with the cursor on top.

I was wondering if anyone knows why everytime I try to send a multimedia message using this software, I recieve an error alert telling me that there is not enough memory to deliver the message, and when I check all my memory, there seems to be sufficient amount.

Try this to increase MMS limit from 300 to 600:

(delete the .txt from the end, import via a Registry Editor, e.g. Resco Registry)
this may be common knowledge to some but after this I had to to into: messaging>menu>options>multimedia messaging>servers>att mms than change the "sending size limitation:" at the bottom of the page

Make sure to go to Notifications and there is an option for "New text message (Palm)"(something along those lines). In there you can change tone or turn it on.

i went to the notifications on my palm treo 700wx from verizon and there is no specific option for palm txt msg or the like - so now when i get a new sms it does not vibrate or play a sound ... other than that the app workes wonderfully --- anyone have any suggestions on how to get the sound working ???

thank you much +^_)^+

Got it.

I got a zip file uploaded for all fellow i780 users to enjoy. :)

How to change your Samsung i780 font size bigger in shogunmark palm threaded sms:

Please create a notepad file for yourself for future reference:
Step 1:
Download and installResco Registry Editor (google it and download)
Do not download other registry editor, may not work.

Step 2:
Open the registry editor, go to the address and change this:
HKLM\System\GDI:
"FontLinkMethods"=dword:00000000

Step 3:
Create a new entry for this:
HKLM\System\GDI\V1\FontAlias:
"Tahoma:-9"="Tahoma:-13" <--- (can be bigger if you want to, just change the 13 to 14, 15...)
Change this:
"version"=dword:0009000c

Search, read and you shall find...
Most likely your device's ROM has been limited as to the type of cabs you can install -- generally this is done by the provider's ROM so end users don't go around #$%@#$@# their device by installing shite. It probably saves them on support costs.

You do not need to "unlock" the device per se. All you needs is to change a registry entry by 1 number so it does install all cabs.

Simple do a search, as I cannot remember the path, I recall its under "security" simply type the error on google along with the words "registry hack"
and you will find detail step by step instructions.

All in all? A 5 minute fix, if at all.

That really sucks... :(

Ok. Several questions. Is there anyway to autocomplete to work in chat mode? When I initiate a message it works fine, but once a response is received or made and I enter the "chat" mode, the feature goes away. Any idea why?

I'm having issues with getting notifications that messages have been delivered or read although I set it up to do so.

Finally, I have an issue with messaging closing on me. A SMS will come through. I click "go to". The chat screen opens and before I can type a word, it closes on me. No type of error is given. It just closes and I have to start it again to get things going again. I didn't see anything in previous posts. Any ideas?

Thanks for the .CAB and I love this Threaded SMS feature on my HTC 8525. However, may I suggest a couple ways to improve this application?

1.) In the File Explorer folder, if you go down to Windows\Messaging, you will find a lot of files that are 0 B in size from the received text messages used for this application. I don't know if they take up any spaces in my already "resource-limited" HTC 8525, but those 0 B files only pile up over time inside of that folder and never go away unless you delete them manually from the folder. It just gets annoying.

2.) The on-screen keyboard blocks the views in the typing-box on this application: the typing-box does not scroll up with the on-screen keyboard, and thus you cannot see your inputs as you're typing.

3.) Each time I receive a message, it opens the "Messaging" application. Is there a way to disable it and let the Threaded SMS to run in the background instead of having the application opened every time? This concern has been addressed by someone else before but it was never answered.

Thanks in advance!
