ROMUpdateUtility error 202

Hi All,

I'm having some trouble loading hard-spl on to my (brand new) Orange M700. The ActiveSync connection is fine but the ROM update utility all ways gives me error 202 - "connection".

Any thoughts appreciated.

Solved it. I didn't have "enable advanced network functionality" checked. I was wondering why the device wasn't showing up in network connections...

how/where have you have "checked" this functionality?
in the pda?
in activesync?

Hello,
i got the same error during the phone rom update utility.
If I start the update process on the device a security message apears. called i.e. (translated form german) 'enterbotloader.exe, this program is from a unkown source.....' after a couple of minutes the message closes itself. The update program on my xp shows the 202 Error Connection Lost.

my Config:
OS : XP SP2 (german)
Device : HTC3600 (german) original ROM 1.23.407.2
Connected via USB

Trying to get installed Olipro HardSPL 120.

:) Found the solution :)
Start the upgrade program at xp. Confirm the security information at the device with yes. uncheck USB Connection in Active Sync.

Now I'm happy to use WM6 ...

Im using XP. What worked for me was go to settings, connections, usb to pc and unchecking enable advance network functionality. Xp did some quick reinstalling and it work great after that.

I had also reinstalled activesync before and it did not work

i reinstalled active sysnc and unchecked that box but i am still ggetting the 202 error no connection, can someone please help..u can message me on yahoo at stayc_iz_bomb becuase these emails can get annoying...thank you

The setting is on the phone,

USB to PC UNCHECK "enable advance network functionality"

Worked for me. :) Still trying to get pass the step 2 in the Olipro Unlocker HTC P4600 from AT&T HTC Fuze.

hi guys.i have the same problem like allmost everyone.i allays get ERROR 202 when i try hard spl my x1.the only thing i do was to hard reset my x1.thas all.i dont change anything else.just hard reset it and hard spl installed 100%.Give it i try
