activesync causes WM6 slowdown

as the title says, i've found that closing activesync in the taskmanager speeds up the response of buttons, menus, etc immensely

when it's running my hermes feels slow and cumbersome, when it's not it feels zippy and fast

any reasons why this is and is there a fix available ?

i'm running the schaps ROM but it was like this on the previous ROMs i've used (black satin and original OEM WM5)

I agree. Since wm6, activesync is a dog. it syncs every 15 mins or so even when there are no changes. My dopod grinds to a halt when this happens. Using black satin.
