I saw a repack of the requisite files floating around elsewhere - I might give installing it a shot and see what happens.

Worst case is it hard resets my device or shoots freaking laserbeams across the house, hitting my brother's girlfriend, which at the moment I would consider a useful feature...

I think with the touchflo interface, the 750v would be near perfect!

That being the case, gimme it please

Simmiter....if you get hold of it and make it work...can you post a few pics and give a comment on your expedition?

Cheers

Anyone heard if this is possible?

I went ahead and install the 5 tab htc today plugin and played around with it. Their seems to be a stability problem as the treo now would randomly reboot itself. I tried installing it after a hard reset and it seems okay but started rebooting again after installing my apps. got rid of it for now... hehe

hey I have actually installed it on my Treo its loads with no probs. However there are a couple of conflicts like not being able to access the dial pad or call log via the call button. I have even experienced this error while clicking on call log or dial pad. After a little research I found it to be a conflict between the htc home and palm software. Simply clinkin on the left hand corner to initiate the x button pop up I can then click on both the call log as well as the dial pad with out a problem. As for the touch flo cube it does not fit the entire screen, I assume this to be just be the treos 240x240 screen. I also noticed the cube to be slow in it's revolving. If we can get past the conflicts and adapt the program to the treo's screen its possible we might even get it to run as smooth as it does on the artemis. I am shocked at the few interested in advancing such a feature on the treo. I am sure once the cooked roms start to surface we can truly unlock the power of the device.

Another issue with the Touch Flo Home on the Treo 750, is that the green and red button don't work correctly anymore...

Normally, when you press the red button, the device go to sleep mode, that don't work anymore...

When you press the green button, you don't have the menu with the last call...

That's very annoying for my part...

So I uninstall the Touch Flo Home. Try with the Kaiser's Version and have the same issue...

Does anyone know how to contact PDAViet? He would be our best option. He may be kind enough to make a rom for the 750 ?? Holding my breath ... :)

I'd like the link to the CABs of the Touchflo and/or HTC Home that anyone has working on the 750.

Thanks in advance.

I installed the 6 Button Kaiser HTC home plugin on my Treo 750 and have no problems with it @ all. As for the green and the Red buttons, all u have to do is add the "Dial Lookup" to the Today screen and the green and red buttons will work perfectly.

HTC Home and TouchFlo are 2 totally different things. HTC Home is the Today Screen plug-in, TouchFlo is the 3D cube, finger scrolling etc which was 1st introduced in the HTC Touch phone.

HTC TouchFlo is not as easy as just a cab to install. TouchFlo needs to update files on the device that can't be changed will the OS is running, n that's why TouchFlo has to be cooked in the ROM

Ok....

With Dial Lookup checked, the red and green buttons work! Thanks for that.

The problem now is that there is wasted screen real estate below the Kaiser plugin for the network carrier logo.

Hidelogo causes resets so don't bother.

and if you try to type contacts by name they go off the bottom of the screen. is there a way to use the screen better?

Sorry for my confusion... I was talking about the HTC Home Plugin...

Thanks for the tips about the "dial lookup", but if I do that, the dial lookup is useless because it's under the HTC Home Plugin and then, you see a little part of it...and can't read anything...

Thanks anyway for your reply.

You have to modify a value on the registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Home\Type
and change the value of "type" to 4.

Then you will be able to move HTC home down or move Dial Lockup up.

so, I'm unclear if someone here has touchflow on a treo 750 - the thread being in a 750 forum suggests this, but the comment about it needing to be part of the ROM suggests otherwise. Please clarify your hardware environment.

This feature would, I think, exponentially improve the performance of the 750 from a UI perspective, not sure about how the processor would fair though and overall performance may suffer.

Thanks in advance.

Awesome.

Now can I hide the carrier logo?

Its listed in this thread. You just have to make sure to check Dial Lookup plugin.

I should clarify...

I have tried hidelogo.cab but it clashes with the HTC Home plugin, turning the device into a brick and I have to hard reset.

Is there a different way to hide the Carrier Logo at the top (since it is redundant...there is a line in the HTC Home that has the carrier logo as well).

can someone update the title of this thread to read HTC Home plugin? This is not about touchflo.

Here is the home plugin that I am using. It works great! Dont forget to also check the "dial lookup" in your today settings also; this will get your Green and Red buttons to work.

The hidelogo cab also works to clear up valuable real estate.

Edit: the hidelogo seems to conflict with the 750. I am unable to remove the cab, BUT DO NOT INSTALL.

i do that but it crash and the treo restart itself
when i install de home plugin it runs ok but the moment hidelogo cab is installed the restart begin

Not sure why thats happening. Try installing the hidelogo first, then installing the home.

I did get the constant restart when I was using a different home version....but the one that I posted works for me.

Good luck

I went and gave the plugins you posted a try as well. And my treo did nothing but restart. I even installed the hidelogo first. Only way to stop it from restarting anymore was to beat it and disable hidelogo from the today screen. Are there different versions of hidelogo or are we out of luck?

trjons
16-10-2007, 04:04 PM
I suspect, although I may not know what I am talking about, that the reason for the conflict is the order the Today plugins are rendered and that by playing with the registry the conflict can be cured.

It seems to have something to do with the fact the HTC Home plugin sits at the top and hideogo normally has to work first.

thuggin

I just looked at my programs and it appears that I am not using the Hidelogo. Maybe that is what is causing the restart.

If you go to your preferences and press "hide lookup field" that should clear up your real estate.

I will remove the hidelogo from my previous text. Sorry guys.

The restart was happening to me when I was using the wrong home plugin. But this one works for me. I am on 750 using WM6 AT&T rom.

thuggin,

that does clear up the confusion, but there still should be a way to keep from having TWO carrier lines! One in the HTC Plugin and one that is automatic.

I agree, however I just place it at the bottom and never see the other carrier anyway. I didnt even notice it was there til you said something. Not a big annoyance.

I do wish I had more screen. I am used to the home menu only taking up 2/3 of the screen with the 8525.

Yes, you can do that. But when you put it at the bottom, you lose the ability to dial contacts by letter using the keyboard and being able to see them using "Dial Lookup Plugin".

Its a neat feature of the 750 which gets lost if you try to hide the carrier logo that way.

Without HTC Home Plug In, you can use the hide carrier logo that you initially posted and still have that feature.

Humm, I can quick dial from the today screen. When you set up your speed dial, indicate the letter. Then press and hold. It works for me.

Hi, new to this, but have just installed the HTC Home plugin to my Treo 750 & love it. I can't set the weather to my city though. Just wonder if Adelaide, South Australia could be added to the cities available? Thanks heaps...

I think with the HTC home plugin you will only see "Home". TouchFlo is actually the touch, slide UI not the graphical layout of Home.
