I'm sorry that there's no 3G at all in China,so Tao has no idea at this since he mainly work for the chinese users.

So Tao has no schedule to make a 3G switch button,

I know how to change registry to go back to my original Dopod comm manager,, but now I am confused as to deal with a new one. I exported my WLAN registery (from Schap's WM6 Pro 3.57a ROM) and imported after installing this 10 button ComMgr (after the SR but before starting it the first time).

Not sure if that is the proper way of doing it but it did allow the WiFi button to work.

Note: I have a Cingular/ATT 8525.

You can install it to EXT.ROM and it works well,
You can uninstall it at any time.
ps: please make sure Comm Manager is not running when you install or unstall it.

it is because its 3g button actually does switch between 3g and edge/gprs other than turning the radio to auto. BTW, its wlan works too. Thanks.

Edit: Found a compatibility problem (not a bug). If installed over Schaps latest 3.57a, probably as result of a different location of the 10 buttons ComMgr. files, Schaps Advanced Configuration app. will not load (stops while trying to load SAC app.). Now until a fix, there's a choice - 10 Buttons or SAC....or a Fix..

I do not have a server now, I only wanted the Crackberry email type service set up retreiving my mail from my provided email address that I have on my home PC from my Cable/DSL ISP company (SHAW.ca)! From what you said I guess there is no easy solution to this, is there? I hope so;)

Is there a data transfer advantage of 3G over GSM? Or if I get both, Would it mater which is used??

I can confirm that the "volume off" PNG file does not display when in portrait mode (It works fine in landscape). I then discovered that this cab file does not even include the vol_dis, vol_dn, vol_off, and vol_on PNG files. So I pulled those files from the 9-button comm manager and added them to the \Windows directory on my device... soft reset and it now works.

It is not about the Radio Version. The Comm Manager is design to switch between Auto and GSM. Sometime we need to make sure the phone did not switch to GSM by its own when using as broadband modem in Auto mode. The only way to do that is to enable WCDMA only.

Good question,

Microsoft had very good tool free for download - Mobile Developer Powertoys. Amoung other there is ActiveSync Remote Display and it works very good. But not any more since I upgraded to WM6.

I heared about Pocket Controller, but it is not free. Well Microsoft will probably released new version soon so keep looking.

Fixed the WLAN issue.

After installing this Comm Manager and soft reseting my Blueangel doesn't boot any more. Freeze on first Windows Mobile screen.

Can this be source of this problem? What should I do now? Hard reset?

Could you possibly make this 10 button Comm Manager compatible with the Athena/x7500? I have tried to install it,
but all the buttons are in the wrong places and the BT/WLAN won't turn on/off. Some of the other buttons work and
the program runs so it should be possible.

If you want I have updated the Landscape Icons to work on a bigger screen
and can send'em to ya so ya don't have to do the image work yourself.

Yeah, dig through the different CommManager Threads. You have to
tweak a registry setting to fit your WLAN module with the Button.
For Hermes the right module key is TIACXWLN. Don't know correct
setting for Kaiser though.

I'm seconding the desire to have this work with the scroll wheel or D-pad. I love the look and the extra buttons but I realized that when I used the CM I would always hit the button on the side, use the wheel and be done. I can't do that with this version.

I was looking forward to this as Schapps version didn't work for me. Unfortunately this one doesn't work either. It seems to turn off data altogether which is not what i want, I need a button for turning off 3G but leaving 2G (GPRS) on. Sorry to be picky but this was available on the Tytan, maybe something in the hardware has changed on the Kaiser?

The main reason I'd like this is that on the Tytan with 3G on my battery lasted 8 hours but when I turn it off I got around 4 days. I need GPRS to remain on so I can use push email with out 3G draining the battery. I need the option to turn on 3G on/off so I can use my Slingbox and for using it as a broad band modem.

Is this possible on the Kaiser or do I have to go back to using my trusty Hermes?

Thanks :) looks good! The only problem i have, is that when the phone is on silent (not vibrate), the Comm Manager shows a blank space with "Ringer" instead of Silent.

Thanks a lot for this nice app. It looks really good except of one thing: on my German vodafone Kaiser, the description of the comm manager buttons uses a times new roman fond. is there a way change that??

For those who have problems with WiFi, this is what you need to do:
- uninstall the 10 button Comm Manager
- run the default Comm Manager to verify that WiFi works
- run a registry editor and copy the value of this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \HTC\CommManager\WLAN\DeviceName
For example on the Tilt with default ROM the value is: "{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\TNETW12511"
- install 10 button Comm Manager
- open registry editor, find that key again and paste the value you previously copied.

Can someone help me out here? I had a sprite back, and now tried to reinstall this program and now it says

"Installation was unsuccesful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions."

What can I do to get it back?

Thanks, that's saved me.... it quit working; after using that reg setting, WLAN / WiFI now works again... mostly... From Comm Manager, Settings -> Wireless Lan does not bring up the WiFi settings.
while Phone & Bluetooth does bring up the respective settings...
any ideas?

I am using this Com Manager, but by enabling or disabling the beam, nothing changes in Start/Settings/Connections/Beam (see attached screen shots).
To really enable or disable incoming beams, I have to toggle the tick box in the Connections/Beam settings.
Am I the only one facing this problem?

Additionally the beam button has a different background color as the others. Can I change that? Or better: Is there a fixed version out there already?

But I have only one problem with Bluetooth. I can turn Bluetooth On but can not to turn Off (Bluetooth icon not change it's status too).

Please kinldy suggestion me how to fix this problem.

As per the above, my WiFi would not turn on so you'll need to modify the registry exactly like the screenshot for it to work.

First install that Comm Manager
