The screen alignment problem comes back this morning to my HTC Tytn.
It hangs on the calibration screen. Nothing helps...scratching...itching etc.

Now i must flash back to WM5 to change the device at Vodafone Germany. Can i make this with the official file from the vodafone germany website?

At this moment on my Tytn is:

The new Shaps WM6 ROM (German, FULL Version from 28.07.2007)
Radio 1.48
Olipro 2.10

Or did i have to work with any ROM Kitchen? I have read the instructions on MrVanx site and other people says that i only have to flash the original Vodafone update file from the website.

sorry for my terrible english...:)

I hope you understand what i want....

I also have sceen alignment issues using Schaps WWE ROM. I had mine in for service earlier and do not believe it is hardware related this time, as some WM6 roms seem to give me the problem occasionally (I've tried them all..). I have no problems using Jasjammings black roms, so what it may be beats me... Hopefully there will be a fix.

EDIT... I've done a new flash with the latest Schap ROM, I believe it is better than the one I tried before. I tried Sleuth's as well, but it was too giving me alignment issues. The new ROM seems good so far.

I might be wrong but wasn't the screen alignment issue the alignment changing after being set due to problems in hardware with the screen itself?

This sounds like a software fault only that a new ROM would probably fix. (or was the problem that something presses on the screen which stops it calibrating?)

(i never suffered it so havent looked into it)

I had a terrible screen alignment issue on my Wizard. It is a hardware failure.

As for the OP's question on downgrading, check out MRVANX's AWESOME GUIDE (http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=41&Itemid=27).

Many thanks todd_jg! This is what i am searching for. I have found another guide but this was i found where an old version of this.

Many many thanks. I will try this guide on weekend.

BTW: Its my third Tytn from Vodafone, the screen alignment problem is definitly a hardware bug as HTC official related in February this year.

Ok. the flashing of the original Vodafone Germany ROM is fullfilled! It works...

BUT:

Now i am sticking in the first calibration screen after the first boot (after flashing)!
Because my Tytn has a calibration problem i am unable to do the first calibration to get in the next step of setting up Win Mobile 6 (time and date i think).

AND:

In the (perfect!!!) guide posted above there is an extra guide to downgrade the spl.
But thru the sticking in the first calibration screen i am unable to downgrade cause the update (downgrade is the better name i think) says not connected to device.

Does anybody have an idea to solve this tricky problem?

BTW: changing the device at vodafone i have to wait 17 work days because they have a little delivery problem. I think they dont have any device thats work probaly.... :) But I can wait. :)

I hope you understand what i want...sorry i come from Germany...:)

Have you tried waiting a while for the calibration screen. Sometimes after a new ROM has loaded, it seems to take a while to get the screen to respond to the calibration.

Also, you should be able to do the SPL downgrade as it is explained in Mrvanx guide, except you can start in bootloader mode, instead of starting with the phone on.

Und, dein Englisch ist echt gut. Ueberhaupt keine Probleme dich zu verstehen;)

I have waiting a very long time after the first boot. Because i have to think about what i do now. :)

And i have pressed all buttons on the phone and i have punished it for a while cause i am a little bit angry about this sh!t. Nothing helps.

In bootloader mode the downgrade says that there will be a problem with getting contact with the device.

Was tun sprach Zeus...

If all else fails, you can try to reflash with the SDCard method. No USB connection needed.

The instructions are in here somewhere.

USB methos is going like this:

Format Your card to FAT32. Rename RUU_signed.nbh to HERMIMG.NBH. Copy this to Your card. Put card in to device and softreset holding Power and Ok button.
You should see grey screen witch question. Press Power button and wait untill process ends. When You see Updated Succed, reset with stylus.

Copied this from another thread (just remembered I read this recently) :D

I did this like you have said but when i am entering the bootscreen (4 color screen, i see shortly the grey screen (0,1 sec!) and nothing to see except the screen with ipl 1.04 and spl 2.10olipro.

I copied my files to my computer (nothing on the card) and copied the .nbh file from the downgrade to 1.10 olipro (link in the manual from you) without the .exe file on my card. Then i inserted the card and enter the bootloader screen with power button ok button and softreset.

EDIT: After i had formatted my card it works...

BUT after flafshing the 4 colour screen says: Herm200 IPL-1.04 HERM200 SPL-2.10.Olipro

I copied the file RUU_signed.nbh from the folder HERM_SPL1.1ooli_only_customRUU to the card and renamed it into HERMIMG.nbh
The grey screen appears after the softreset...i push the power button...the update was sucessfully...i sofreset...it boots to the calibration screen from WM5...i get into the bootscren with holding OK Power and Softreset and there are : Herm200 IPL-1.04 HERM200 SPL-2.10.Olipro

What happend wrong? Where I am so stupid? God Damnmnmnmnmnmn....

Hey again!

Try this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321873). It may help you to.

Essentially, you will do the following:
* Fire up Custom_RUU
* Manually select the correct SPL (Oli 2.1 and HardSPL option)
* Put the phone in bootloader mode
* THEN plug into USB
* Press continue

Oftentimes, this gets past the cannot connect error.

This method above works!

BUT: After the selfmade softreset from the RUUwrapper.exe WM5 boots normally...then i get into the bootloader4colorsscreen and there it was...

ipl 1.04 and spl 2.10olipro

why? please god...change the spl into 1.10... :)

OMG - I remember I had that problem once. That was a bitch to solve. In fact, it was so tough that MrVanx made a SPECIAL GUIDE FOR SPL DOWNGRADE (http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=59&Itemid=27). We are lucky for this.

Oh yeah, and the reason that it won't change the SPL is because that is exactly what HardSPL does - it protects the SPL from being overwritten, since THAT is what bricks phones. Trust me, it is for your own good (and mine too - notice my avatar!). Make sure that the SPL downgrade is the last flash operation you perform.

The downgrade guide hould work if done properly. Use the files in the links in the downgrade guide. It is hard to replace Oli 2.1 - everything will work except that. Just like you described. But this step:

The first step is to dowgrade to SPLversion 1.10.oli. Firstly download this archive and extract the files to a temporary folder, connect your device up via the USB port and allow it to connect to activesync. Run "RUUWrapper.exe" which will fire up the RUU program.

is most important. That will write over Oli 2.1 and get it to Oli 1.1. After that, you can put whatever SPL you want on there. Be sure to use the Oli 1.1 link in the thread.

Zuckron

so actually by following the guide, I can choose SPL 1.11 instead of the listed SPL's 1.04 and 1.06 ?

Zuckron

Is it like, if I install the swedish ship version, the spl will go back to 1.11? And after I have done that, I can install the official norwegian WM6 ROM?

todd_jg
10th August 2007, 11:39 AM
Now I think I understand.

You must go from Oli 2.1 to Oli 1.1 and then you can go to any other SPL you want. You cannot flash any other SPL on top of Oli 2.1 - you must go to Oli 1.1 and then to any other SPL you like.

This is exactly what i have done!
I download the first downgrade (2.10 to 1.10) over the link in the guide called HERM_SPL1.10.oli_Only_CustomRUU .
Then i extcrated it.
Then i fired up the ruu wrapper from this package.
Then i connect my phone.
Then the update start.
Then the update was succesfully (the computer says)
Then the phone reboot.
Thenn windows starts.
Then i get into the bootloaderscreen (ok+power+softreset)
Then the screen says IPL 1.04 SPL 2.10Oilpro

I tried it with choosing "Force sspl"
And 2.10olipro and "is it Hardspl?"
nothing changes.

Then i put the .nbh on my card and rename it into HERMIMG.nbh.
Then i reboot.
Then the update starts by pushing powerbutton
Then the update was successfully (the telefonscreen says it)
Then i reboot.
Then Windows starts.
Then i get into bootloaderscreen and it says IPL 1.04 SPL 2.10Oli.

Where is my fault?

You are supposed to choose "Force Using SSPL" ONLY. Read carefully...

Yes, drummer are right, the only way to downgrade the Oli 2.10 is using SSPL, and to use SSPL, your PDA must boot in the OS (any OS).

So, if your PDA don't boot, first flash any OS you want with CustomRRU, and after this flash Oli 1.10 using SSPL and with the PDA in the OS and connected to USB.

Regards.

Sorry for misunderstanding....

i meant that i tried in the first walkthru with choosing "Force Using SSPL" and this wont work (for me)... and in the second walkthru i choose "2.10olipro + "is it Hardspl?"" and this wont work for me too.

I tried both ways.

My Tytn boot in the Windows 5 that i had flashed before with the "good nbh tool" after the guide (guide side before the downgrade guide site for spl).

This is what i had done:

I let him boot.
Vodafone screen comes.
Then the Windows 5 screen comes.
The Tytn is connected to USB.
Activesync syncronises.
Syncronisation is finished.
I start the custom ruu.
The update works.
It finished theUpdate.
The Tytn boot by itself.
Windows 5 boots.
I get into the bootloader.
There stands still Olipro2.10, IPL 1.04.

then

I put the .nbh on my card and rename it into HERMIMG.nbh.
Then i reboot.
Then the update starts by pushing powerbutton
Then the update was successfully (the telefonscreen says it)
Then i reboot.
Then Windows 5 starts.
Then i get into bootloaderscreen and it says IPL 1.04 SPL 2.10Oli.

Nothing works....f#*k....where is the hammer...
