3rd Party Software that WORKS on ATT/Cingular 750 with WM6

Those of you with a 750 on the ATT/Cingular network with the new WM6 please post your experiences with 3rd party software (what works, what doesn't).

After reading the current WM6 threads it is obvious that there is a big difference on how well WM6 works across the different carriers and brandings. So I would like to limit this thread to ATT/Cingular (hopefully others will start threads for different carriers). I think the biggest barrier to most of us in upgrading is whether the hundreds of dollars of 3rd party software we had on WM5 will still work on WM6.

I am especially interested to see people's reviews on spb apps, wizbar, smallmenu, Handy Switcher, MemMaid, Mortscript, TomTom 6, SlingPlayer, Goodlink/GMM, AEbutton Plus or other button mappers.

Installed on mine, 750C (Cingular) and it doesn't work. Goes from Not Connected -> network available -> suspended by user.

Anyone else w/ different experience ? Anyone there willing to find a hack for BBC 4 ?

Did you try to make calls w/ Skype ? I have it installed on my 750C and skype seems to be crashing when I want to call someone, just closes and the call never happens.

i'm using a Holux GPSlim 240 - TT6 works perfectly, it connects each time I start and navigates fine.

I cannot seem to get my "ebay-purchased" bluetooth GPS receiver to work with TT6 anymore. It worked fine when it was still on WM5 but even though i CAN connect to the GPS receiver when adding it manually, TT6 doesn't recognise it whatsoever.

i MIGHT have forgotten to do some settings, so if someone else does have a bluetooth GPS receiver please help me out! i need to navigate a lot to get to client's offices for my work and i cannot live without TT6!!

Has anyone had any success with Blackberry Connect 4 on the WM6 Rom ? I was trying over and over unsuccessfully on my 750c and I had the same symptoms as on WM5: Network Available -> Suspended by user, no IP address, no PIN (shows Pending)

Any help would be appreciated

yes i have... i dont remember this... but do i need to check the Serial Port service in the Partnership Settings? and do i need to set up anything in the External GPS (Start -> Settings -> External GPS) for it to work?

i got a feeling i got my TT6 to work with my GPS by fluke when i was using WM5 which is why i'm having trouble now... i will try again tonight and see how it goes. Thanks!

Yeah, you need the serial port service active. You don't need to configure anything under External GPS settings.

The actualy release of Skype does not work for Voice calls. Search the forums for the BETA release, which works fine.

I've problem with O2 SMS Plus. If I install it my Treo can't receive any incoming SMS. I also have problem with RJV SMS Scheduler (http://www.airfagev.com). If I've make 1 schedule I can't exit from this software. There is a error ( An unexpected error has occurred in SMS Scheduler.exe. Select Quit and the restart this program, or select Details for more information). But if I choose Exit I never can't exit.

SprintDB pro 3.1 was working on WM 5, but will not sync with WM 6 because we have to install ActiveSync 4.5, witch will no longer Sync with Access Database.
The Company is working on a fix for next month.:)

Also for Pocket MSN, (Witch by the way works very well on WM 6, much better than before) you have to purchase it from Microsoft for $19, because it is not pre-install on this ROM.

GMM, TA alerts using mortscript, TomTom 6 all work without issue. I've installed several other wm5, 2003, CE and you name it apps both professional and home grown with ZERO issues. Really after almost a week of peaking around, I really don't see any huge underlying OS difference between wm5 and wm6 as far as application compatibility goes. If anything doesn't work, then I suggest getting a fresh install source and try again. To me this is more like a service pack for WM5 than the next generation OS. Flash away...

Did you try a hard reset? If you replaced the DLLs on the device, this can probably be cured by a hard reset, restoring all files to the factory versions.

I thought only Opera Mobile would work on a PPC? You installed Opera Mini?

Has anyone been able to confirm if Picsel PDF Viewer is working with the leaked AT&T WM6 ROM? Either for stand-alone docs or email attachments? I've only been able to get error messages of 'document faulty could not be converted' in my attempts so far. :confused: Any confirmed pdf viewers other than Picsel with WM6??

Yeah, you need Midlet Manager to run Opera Mini. I have both Mobile and Mini on my Treo but I'm not sure which one I like better.

I'm on the Media Max 200 plan but was on the PDA plan when I first got the phone because they wouldn't let me put on the Media Max plan because it was a "PDA" phone. I had it for 2 days when I just told them to take it off. Turned out I could add the Media Max 200 myself on the internet.
