Touch FLO WM6 on Charmer - it works!

Yesterday I flashed my Charmer with gullum Prophet Touch V5. beta rom. Very nice, and also it is a quick rom too. The cube is also working by pressing the lower left button ("Record Button" or "Cassette Button" or "Tape Button").
Every app is working fine... Camera is working now with FIX.

Thats what I did:

Downloads:
Prophet Touch V5. beta -- http://rapidshare.com/files/44842758/ProphetTouchV5beta.zip.html
Download the xbeta Chinese WM6 rom -- http://rapidshare.com/files/27671349/2007-03-26_Charmer_WM6_CHS_OS_msyh__plus_consam_xBeta.exe. html

1. Flash back to normal Wm5 Akku 3.3
2. unpack Download the xbeta Chinese WM6 rom to c:\charmer
3. Copy Cert_Spcs.cab and EnableRabi.cab to your charmer (itsutils folder)
4. run both cabs and than soft reset
5. turn phone off (not the charmer - go to flight mode)
6. copy the os.nb from touch V.5 beta to c:\charmer folder
7. besure that there is a connection to pc and pda
8. go to c:\charmer and run xBeta cmd
9. typ in the number witch the os.nb has
10. wait for the app till it gets green again (ca. 15 minutes)
11. make hard reset
12. do not allow to install the extended rom -- soft reset
ENJOY

I tried to delete this registry key and camera won't work. I think because driver on Prophet I slighty diffrent than driver in Charmer. To make camera work we must create a CAB with driver and registry setting and maybe other camera application.

I need to find what camera driver Charer uses... the Prophet & Hermes uses S5K3BAFX.dll and wizard uses OV9650.dll so I need to figur out which Charmere uses then maybe I could make a cab for the original Charmer camera for you guy to use

That is because the alignment of the Touch.dll thats been modified from the elf(HTC Touch) touch.dll you will need to align the screen a bit differantly

on the left side align spot on to the + but on the right side align the bottum + a bit abow and the top + a bit beneth

That's because the new camera uses s5k3bafx.dll and the charmer uses ov9650.dll

I'll make a cab of the camera used in Essentials 000.2 distrib 1 for you guys... It will take some time because there are quite a lot og regs that I need to tap in by hand to be prisise it 1133 lines :)
so be patiand anyway I'm sending V5 beta 2 for testing now so it might work for you guys too

Camera isn't working from windows directory. You must change registry settings to new camera driver.

Install Charmer_Gullum_camera.CAB (Gollum Post) & k0ster_WizaCharmCamFix.cab (last post) & my regfix (HTC_Camera_regpath.zip) from attachment and camera works, but camera preview is flipped. But in other ROM this issue is solved. There is another bug, when you close Camera app, screen stays in Landscape.

I try to solve this bugs today.

ps Install regfix with registry app, for example: Resco Exporer, using Import function.

There is a final FIX for CAMERA (attachment: charmer_cam_fix_touch.zip) . You don't have to install other patches (Gollum, k0ster) for Camera. Install this CAB only. Camera is working propertly. If anyone have problems - please post.

How to Install:

1. Download ZIP file. Unzip.
2. Copy CAB to PPC
3. Install on PPC
4. Softreset PPC
5. Voila! Camera is working.

PS I can upload fix without Picture Themes (more free space on storage) if anyone wants.

Hi there, this looks pretty good only thing I am not clear on is step 12 could you explain just a little more.

When new OS turn on first time, you must:

- align the screen
- set timezone
- set password, set email (or skip)

When you set up the system finally, there is a window with big title: Complete, you tap on screen and you will see a window something like that:

Title: "Customization"
Text: Customization launches after 3 seconds...

and OK button.

In 3 seconds text countdown to 0 and application will start installing extrom.

If you see this window, *softreset* (place stylus to the pinhole) device to prevent extrom installing.

yes it sholud be. because it's almost the same as the beta release just some addet futures like transkriber and the HTC PHONE pad so it's not much differant from the beta.

I have a problem. My bluetooth sometimes will not turn on. I have soft reset. Tried using comm manager, aebutton plus (toggles bluetooth) and other software.

Any ideas?

Edit. It seems that if any programme is running, bluetooth will not start. If I close all programmes it works fine. I can then start programmes again. Strange

But I have some problems to tap X or OK buttons with finger, must use stylus or red phone, and when I tap with stylus I must tap few times. Anyone have same problem?

it's the new camera that causes the battery to drain...
try to intsall the v5 final or even better try to install the on linked in second post of this thread ans see if it works .... I have made it with the charmer drivers so I need to know if it works and if it works I can give you guys a kitchen to coock you own roms :)

I've personally found the WM6 Essentials ROM amazingly good. My battery life has more than doubled!!! That couped with the hardware buttons driver by K0ster made it near perfect. Give it a go :)

that bad new and good news the I know the kitchen will work so I'll upload it for you guys :) the you have to find OEM packs that worklike working bluetooth.... bad new is that V5 final does not work I must have used some dll thas not compadable with Charmer

I applied the cab (thanks for that). It sets something to Button5 but there is no button5. I tried to set the link file to it and it didn't work. If I create a link to touchflo.exe it does work. The screen sort of flickers. If I drag my finger on the screen then the launcher (cube) pops up and I can scroll it round which is fun.

I have had no luck scrolling up and down lists (e.g. File Manager) which is what I'd like to try. Is there something I need to do to enable that? EDIT - it seems to be working now, not sure why. I'll hard reset and see what happens.

A few bugs - Calculator won't work - it says an unexpected error has occurred. I can't get Calendar or Contacts to work either.

Other than that, it does have the advantage of being pretty fast.

have you tried a sort reset or hard reset, baring that reinstall the ROM as you are the only one I have come across with that problem.

regarding scrolling you need to push your finger upwards to scroll down and viceversa to scroll up, you should also hear a clicking sound which indicates the scrolling is in operation. Sometimes its just a matter of pressing a wee bit harder on the screen.

I had been testing gullum's Charmer rom (I think second post in this thread). I've tried the Prophet one and that works perfectly as expected with the camera fix (except in Pictures & Videos it's upside down).

Is there any chance of getting a Charmer rom which has the speed advantages of this new touchflo one, with touchflow, a2dp (as working in nocturne's ace rom) and transcriber. Oh, and one which boots up quicker than the gullum touchflo (from Prophet)?

Somehow there must be a way to combine the best of all these roms into one amazing rom. I looked at the kitchen but couldn't get it to work for me.

No it doesn't work. I have gone back to the Essentials rom from nocturne for now. Hopefully someone will get a Charmer touch rom that works well soon.

Not sure if you've seen it but k0ster's rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319151) is very good, fast and doesn't have the issues with buttons (needs a patch), Contacts, Calendar or syncing. The USB charging is working perfectly as well without needing a patch. Sine a2dp works this is the rom I am using right now. I would like touch stuff working but I don't want to give up any of this good stuff.

Hey I flash my MDA C2 to Tocu FLO- looks VERY NICE. But I get an error:

"The file 'Init_Tray cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with trusted certificate, or one of its componets cannot be found. If the problem persist, try reinstalling or restoring file."

Also my contacts will not open.

I made sure I did not allow customize set up so if anyone has any other suggetions to making contacts to work I will be so happy. :)

I tried to reflash, nothing happen.

I will try to flash back to wm5 and try again and see what happens but in the meantime anyone has any suggestions?
