It certainly won't be in next version, however, for sound, the main issue for me is to get the sound. Maybe you can elaborate and provide some sound sample?

My wife has got a new HTC Touch, so she has native scrolling in MS contacts.

I´ve showed her Tene´s PCM application, which i run on my Artemis, trying to get her to use it instead of the Microsoft dull aplication.

Her answer: "While it looks good, i´ll have to think twice about it, because i like the sound of scrolling i get in my Touch"

Go figure!!

I thought it was a no brainer decission going from MS contacts to Tene´s, but she is missing the sound!

I found this file on my hd somewhere I really would not use any of them but just as examples. It can't be hard to find some great noises, I bet loads of people who read this could make a nice sound file, something like wizbar uses that pcm would just point to when performing certain actions. Clicking while scrolling, or drum taps to buttons, I think it could enhance the experience by providing positive feedback to the user.

In my view adding sound adds precisely nothing to this app. The first thing I do when installing a new ROM or when configuring a new device is to turn off all sounds but the alarms. I know what buttons I have pressed and what actions I am taking so why have a sound effect?

I can walk around, drive my car, eat, drink and undertake all the other functions of like without needing sound effects (sound effects during sex is an interesting thought though!), so I think I can cope without them when using my PPC.

And perhaps the fact that folks are struggling to come up with appropriate sound effects tells us all we need to know...!

i am very happy whid the Suberb PocketCM, very complete software.

But i use a lot the call history, and pocketCM dont have.

I wonder why don't have anyone noticed/ point out a bug on v15? or my BA's issue?

When I used SMS at the "Chating" alike screen, and clicked the "hidden close botton", PCM will minimized right?

But, once I called up PCM again, the application will loaded me into SMS username scrolling page(instead of the chatting screen), and at the same time, the Input filed will shows on the scroling page as well (blocking the 4 icons below).

U can do that by press on the desired name u want to add 2 favorit list, then press on the name (top) there u'll have an option to add to favorit, add pic., remove contact etc. ect.

i posted this at ppcgeeks, just thought id mention it here if it hasnt been mentioned already.. i love the app but one thing just annoys me

i just do not like the way the later releases make you go through hoops just to properly close the app.

you gotta hold down the phone button, try to slide your finger to the X without lifting the finger or else the app minimizes.. please look into this

i wish the developer would bring back the original way, press phone, press X without having to do any finger slide motions just to keep the panel up.. i find this EXTREMELY annoying.

what if you remove contact.cache before? (or wait until the contact are loaded from outlook)

Thanks a lot. The completely closing the pocketCM--> delete the contact.cache-->restarting helped.

I have following suggestions to make:-

There is contact_title_box=n1,n1,n3,n4 OK. But requirement is felt to align the text in this box left/reght/center. by default it is center aligned. Because if the header is big enough then it gets chopped off from begining as well as end in present case. Whereas if I align it to left then at least begining part can be properly displayed and the chopping (truncation) takes place towards the end.
When I keep pressed the phone butoon for >250ms then another menu stips pops up which has 4 buttons called oldContacts, options, Close, minimise. By default the minimise button is focused. When I wish to move to the option button or oldcontact button I have to slide-pass over the close button to reach there. And in case the continuity of sliding breaks by chance then the close action takes place and the program gets closed. It is suggested that the close button should be at the left most end as it is required to be pressed least. According to me the sequence should be (from left to right) close, oldcontact, option, minimise.

hey man great application but i wud need the support for universal i have installed the vga theme but the screen is currupted while scrolling showing thin threads aross my screen althou the programe is working but for my jasjar resolution its not matchin up to ! any upgrade of the same in line that wud make it work ?? i really liked the concept n work thou

how can i make it less "pushy"

because its there when ever i close an app...

i alwasy have it minimized so when i get a sms it will show it in pcm..
but every time i have an app open and i close or minimize it..
pcm is there on the screen..

then i minimize it again,
and if i have another app to close,
then pcm will be there on the screen again!

any solution?

I just installed 0.16 on my TyTn II and I'm loving it really! My knowledge about software programming is fairly limited but I appreicate huge amount of effort you're putting into this project! Uber Kudo points man!

As everyone else, I have a few suggestions for the development, some I find more important than others.

1. An option to disable the soft keyboard when in landscape mode would great and real improvement. My TyTN II has a full querty keyboard which slides out when in landscape mode so when composing an sms, the soft keyboard still appears and is quite annoying because it is not necessary, especially since the space could be used to show multiple lines of the message or the message you're replying to rather than just a single line.

In portait mode, the single line entry field is also not very convenient for longer messages. Seems like the font size of the message being composed could be smaller to make more room for multiple lines, perhaps integrate a separate scroll feature in the compose area?

2. When using the phone keypad to search for specific contacts, the only way to view all the contacts again is to click on sms or favorites and then "all" again. Perhaps a button to clear the search field or a single click back to "all" would be better

3. The Back button when viewing a contacts details is not well aligned. It looks like 3ack because its too far to the left. If it helps my screen res is 240x320

4. By default, any physical address I enter without the country is by default United States of America, as I live in the Netherlands, this isn't the case but I see no way of disabling or changing this to another country or just having the address shown as entered.

5. An option to change the colors of the sms threading feature would be nice, the current colors in the black these are kind of depressing

6. when viewing contact details, perhaps set it so that if an image is availble for a contact, just show the image and not the box outline like for those contacts that don't have an image attached to their name.

Well,those are my suggestions and fixes, I hope you take them as they are and that you give me your feedback to them as well as I really do think this is simply nothing short of great work! You can definitly expect a donation for your effort!

I have a major compatability problem between

PocketCM Contact v0.15 and S2U2 v0.83.

If I come out of slide-to-unlock mode, then PocketCM now appears and bleeds through the Pocket PC home screen briefly (3-10 seconds) before returning the user back to the home screen. This does not happen with

PocketCM Contact v0.11b and S2U2 v0.81

but will still happen if I use Pocket CM Contact v0.15 and S2U2 v0.81. It suggests it is something to do with either S2U2 or PocketCM (?), but since only PCM15 and S2U20.83 are the most recent versions, could you guys not try work together to fix this recent bug? I have gone back to using:

PocketCM Contact v0.11b and S2U2 v0.81 now as these are stable and bug free.

Oh I forgot to mention that PocketCM v0.16. and S2U2 v0.83 over time also crash as in reboots my Pocket PC when coming out of slide to unlock mode. Also, in addition, everytime 0.83 goes into lock mode, and it is attached to my laptop, it then kicks activesync off and disconnects from my laptop - very annoying. Hence, I have no problems with

PocketCM Contact v0.11b and S2U2 v0.81

Im having issues with typing a message with v0.16. Everytime I tap in the space to start typing a SMS, the keyboard pops up. Even when I am in landscape it pops up and I cannot get rid of it. It will always show "Show SIP" whether the keyboard is showing or not.
Also, while the keyboard is showing I cannot send the message. I have to close the keyboard somehow, than I can press the Send button.

Having issues with this on my touch as well. The bottom of the keyboard is cut off, losing functionality of necessary keys like space bar. really can't use this software with this keyboard unfortunately.

Hello,

I am giving PocketCM a try but can't figure out what I need to change to make it the default text message app for SPB Pocket Plus. When I installed the Palm threaded app, it opened when I selected text messages under the SPB phone Suite app which has an indicator for text messages. However I uninstalled palm threaded app and installed the PocketCM. The Pocket CM does not open when I select the icon for text messages - it opens the default Windows text message app.

I have made all the reg changes suggested in the PocketCM Faq.

Hi,
I'm having issues with pushing email on sprint mobile mail. sprint sends text messages from the number 9114 to my phone to activate the mailbox syncing. In pocketcm the text messages show up as a new "<unknown>" contact. Is there a way to have pocketcm ignore these messages? I'm running 0.15

i actually agree with this, i love the program, and i have an older version installed but i am in no rush to upgrade b/c i use and love the palm threaded sms.

what exactly are those issues? if you're using palm sms threader, then simply don't use SMS in pcm contact.

How can you change font sizes in .16? My settings.ini is empty, I tried adding a command for font size, but it does not work. The font is tiny.

Well, that won't make it any better. By rereading all your post, the only issue I really see is the fact that pcm use the mobile number for SMS, and not reply to the last SMS. It works 100% for people with one cellphone, and for people with more than one cell phone, I've added the option to select the number. You have to remember there is a design choice here: replying to the last SMS will not match 100% of users, as sending using the cell phone will not match 100% of the users.

All your other post are about splitting the SMS part, which have been lenghtly discussed.

Also on pocketcm.com forum there is a very interresting thread about disabling SMS: I've simply ask how they see pocketcm without SMS, nobody provided a complete or realistic answer.

The way I see it, is more integration between SMS, contact and phone history, for me that's the way to get added value, I clearly imagine this won't be a match for 100% of the people, and the good news is that you're not forced to use it, there are lot of other contact applications out there. Also as discussed in lot of post, separating the programs has a (big) cost, if it happens one day, it's not the right time to do it.

And last point: PocketCM can be customized, your request like hiding the bottom button can be done through, however you'll obviously lose functionality. I encourage you to have a look, and test it.

you're not forced to use it, there are lot of other contact applications out there.

You know what, you are 100% correct. I looked around and did find a simple contacts slider program which works pretty darn good out of the wrapper. I switched to this program and am quite happy with the stability especially.

Keep up the good work, I'll have to look in from time to time to see where it goes.

Hello guys today i downloaded pocketCM 0.15 but i would like to use it as my default SMS for a hermes but for some reason i still get the orginal SMS notification on the left softkey even tho i took it off via settings/sound and notifations any ideas how i can change this ??? and also when i click the HTC Home SMS icon i still get the factory sms program. any way to change this too ??? thanks for the help JR

i was jes wondering if i could use this for my msn contacts that got sucked into my htc while i signed into msn live .....

and continue to use the original contacts program for everything else....

coz i hear that once i install this programe after deleting it the original contacts program does not appear so i am a little wary i do like the original program but it has the msn contacts which i really dont require on my phone....

any help???

i always have a problem with this application...
somhow i cannot get out of the SMS page...
and when i press anything to force it to go out... like windows key...
when i'm trying to go back to the app, it's not responding anymore...
and when i kill the task, then try to go in a fresh... it's still not responding...
apparently it's trying to get back to the state it was in...
am i the only one having problem with this?
because i really like the threaded sms feature of this app...
or is there any other suggestion?
