I agree with you 100%, I have tried Ivan, Helmi, Kamal, Midget_1990, Laurentius26, Jwrightmcps and Viet....and the winner is "DARK FORCE"

But not sure which version of Dark Force to use? I have WM6_21002_WWE_11500, is that the latest

yes, its the same version i'm running too. Its fantastic! Works flawless! No resets ever since i've flashed it!

However, i feel that the response is not as snappy as the other wm6 roms though...takes a tad bit longer for menu rollouts etc. but, hell its as stable a wm6 rom i've seen so far! Zero phone/radio issues, no lock ups, no mem leaks....cant ask for more!

Well, i'm just as keen as you m8 ;) They're truly the best out there!!! It was worth the trouble i took in searching, finding and flashing it with darkforce. I wasted a lot of time trying and testing a 100 other wm6 variants....all of which just didnt work for me....it kept crashing, phone issues blah! Got so tired, 3 days back, i went back to wm5 for a day! Finally got hold of darkforce and flashed it....wow! is it good or what???!! Finally a usable Wm6!!!

Do let me know if you find something newer ;)

it has radio 1.15....
in the ext rom, its empty! but by default, the ext_rom is open for read/write so u can use it as an extra 10 meg space on ur device.

the default apps it comes with are standard....different ones are - voice recorder application, adobe acrobat reader le, SAPSettings (sim access profile over btooth), and all latest versions of apps running. The phone application is extremely responsive and never takes a minute to wake up on a call etc. Click on "Call" it calls IMMEDIATELY, hit "disconnect" it doesnt take a minute to realise u hit the button! Thats what i like about it! The phone functionality is flawless which is very important to me!

Take the time, upgrade, i'm sure you wont regret it!

i have to agree with ya'll this is the BEST rom so far. 1 bug, though. keyboard backlight is always on when I press a key on my JASJAR, regardless of the surrounding light

I have notice something strange !

When i recieve sms, my htc wake up and the notification came 30seconds later ...

But it's not the only thing neither the most strange.
When i sent a sms, i write it and then send it.
I turn off my htc.

After some seconds, my htc wake up and then nothing ! no notification !
I have check that the notification delivery are request in the option menu.

And there is another problem, when i recieve sms, sometimes, i have no notification at all ! Just the htc who wake up and nothing. I must open the messaging menu to retrieve my sms ...

Can someone help me please ?

I used this ROM for the longest time, probally the stabalist version of WM6 I've tried.

However as time went on it seemed to slowdown more and more, and eventually it started hanging on me.

How long it takes to flash it. I'm stucked at upgrading the CE rom image 56% but upgrade to the radio rom very smooth. What happened and will it kill my PDA if I reset it.

This rom got some bugs, namely the keyboard backlit will on no matter the lightning conditions are and the backlight on battery mode can`t on after sometime :confused: :confused: :confused:

The best is Laurentius Video Call Works and we can hear the sound of other party. This Darkforce ROM with Videocall Patch is not working at all.

I just discovered a bug. When the backlit is off or rather sleep mode whatever. Any incoming call it will not ring and only I pressed the on button then can hear it rings.

The rom maybe older, but i like this because of its stability. The phone app is extremely snappy which is what i like it mainly for! I click on "Speaker ON" button, and before i realise it, the speaker comes ON, ZERO delay! I click on "End" button, it isntantaneously disconnects unlike other roms which need a good 3-5 seconds to disconnect any call! And most importantly, i dont need to softreset for radio issues all the time. My gprs/dpush works throughout the day....doesnt stop working forcing you to restart your radio...

so, those are my plus points which outweigh the negatives! The negatives are - the responsiveness of the device is not as great as the other roms for menu interactions etc. Menu bars redrawing takes a tad bit longer making it feel a little slow at times....again, not a show stopper....!

but for me, i personally found Laurentius rom boot time faster than Darkforce, and the bugs i mentioned before, also, the device close itself when didnt use and i miss some calls and smses

Same problem here. Besides, the backlight setting is not working properly. The soft reboot take long time and first time I thought the machine is dead. Another isssue is the charging. When I use my pc's usb to charge, I have to turn off the machine to get charge, which makes sense since the usb port in pc is not so powerful. But when I use a wall charger, I have to turn on the machine to get charge, very weird. I am not sure if it is my battery problem, but didn't find it in other rom. This rom also doesn't have the x-button. Other than these issues, this rom is fast and good.

after reading this thread ive flashed with this rom n my sim problem is solved, but one more problem aroused. whenever i left my phone on standby for more den one hour, im unable to put it on, the green light still flashes but ive to soft reset it to start again
please help me if u can as im new to all this

ive tried Laurentius26`s rom too, but it had the phone problem

After trying allmost ALL of the roms (WM5 & WM6) and experiencing different issues, I tried the DarkForce ROM. This is the first time EVER that I could go longer than a day without rebooting, as well as being able to install ALL of my software (SKTools, SBP Phone Suite, Weather etc.) without affecting the stability of the OS. Also, the memory leaks to about 15.5 Meg and then stabilises. I cannot wait for CE OS 5.2.1437(Build 17944.0.3.1) ported to the Uni!!

Yup, the ROM however old was great & reasonably fast even when fully loaded with programs.

Unfortunately as you pointed out, I was not able to change from Auto (3G/UTMS) to GSM.

The downside is with Auto mode battery drain is is fast on locations where signal is weak - radio searches & switches between 3G, UTMS, & GSM bands!

Looks like I just needed to run an extended ROM unlock app that I found on the FTP.

cant get a2dp to work on it..when i installed helmi's broadcom stack, a2dp workd fine, but when im gettin a call, the phone just keeps vibrating..i cannot answer the fone and have to reset :\ cannot find a better rom then helmi wm6 atm...wonder when helmi will update his rom :(

I installed darkforce 3 days ago. it was working fine wen suddenly one day it hung...
i had to restart it.
Sometimes wen i receive a incoming call it just vibrates and i cannot receive d call then again i hav to restart it.
wen connecting to my gprs service, it just shows connecting but doesn't connect...... wat's goin' wrong???
