Hello,
I want to have two things on my Treo: WM6 and wifi. Is this possible? I know I can have one of them, but not both - WM6 or wifi on WM5.
I'm still using WM5 because I haven't heard about Spectec SDW-822 miniSD wifi card working with WM6.
I wrote tho emails to spectec, but with no answer
Anybody has good news for me?

I tried that and working fine. Just like in WM5, it will disconnet the WIFI suddenly and you need to plug in again...

Wow, I'm sooo surprised! Do you have any drivers or just put card in the slot?
Damn, that makes me want WM6 much more! ;)

I have just installed with the WM5 driver as usual. It works! Go ahead to upgrade if you don't need Blackberry Connect.
I have downgraded it :( becos of BB service can't run in WM6 yet.

Don't hold your breath waiting for a reply from Spectec! Their website is the worst I have seen for quite a while. Broken links, badly translated English and emails that bounce back from their support email addresses.
In the end I returned my Wifi card fro a refund because of this so called support.

I have not had success with the WM 5.0 driver and the AT&T WM 6.0 ROM.
Yes the Spectec WM 5.0 driver installs, the Treo recognizes the 822, sees a WiFi connection, asks for the WPA key but then fails to connect. From then on the WiFi settings always prompt "To Configure your wireless network, please enable your wireless network card".
I have tried the Spectec WM 6.0 Standard driver for the Motorola Q with no success too.
Any additional insight in how anyone has succeeded in getting the Spectec 822 to work on the Treo 750 with WM 6.0 would be greatly appreciated.
I also tried disabling the AT&T proxy with no success.

Use the driver here:

I have tried that driver multiple times. The driver installs fine and then the SDW-822 sees my AP and asks for the WPA key. The SDW-822 attempts to connect and then reverts in WiFi Settings to a message that says configure device.
However when I disable WPA on my Airport Extreme and reboot both the Aiport and the Treo the card connects.
Anyone else running WPA on or WPA and an Airport that can corroborate my findings?

I have been testing Devicescape's Symbian s60 beta client and it was not functioning correctly either. When the WPA encryption was turned off not only did the Spectec SWD-822 start to function normally so did the Devicescape s60 beta.
My suspicion now is an Airport Extreme update that Apple released on July 31st and I installed a day before I upgraded the Treo 750v to WM 6.0.

What about vpn connections via wifi? In wm5 when I was trying to use PIE or POutlook connection was disconnected (I had to use NetFront web browser). Is PIE working over vpn now?
Btw,
on spectec website you can download WM6 drivers for sdw-822 :)

After turning the WPA/WPA2 on and off, rebooting the airport and soft resetting the Treo the WM 5.0 driver for the 822 works fine.

I wish to have WiFi under the cover . hidden in the SD gap, like regular SD memory card. I hate when its sitcking out of the Treo.
It's inconvenient , but need this one too ;)

I got Voda WM6 now and drivers for Crossbow from Spectec website. Card woks just great! :D No more resetting to get it working - I just plug card and after 30 seconds I'm online
Still I don't know about VPNs via wifi (I got it on my university and now I have vacations ;) )...
Btw,
I got wpa in my local network.

Hi, don't know how old this post is now...I'm running a Treo 750 on WM6, using a Spectec Wifi card. The driver is the Moto Q one off the website and I've found that I have to disable the phone, reset the handset then insert the card and it detects the card. It will always detect my network but sometimes after a while it won't connect to it...so a bit temperamental. Maybe this is some info for someone

Trying all the drivers listed in this thread and my Treo 750 with WM6 says "Installation of xxx was unsuccessful" no matter which driver I try.
Any guesses?
