TNT 4.0 Series

#######
last updates: (go to the 3rd post to know)
03/08/07
#######

>> please read all informations at least the introduction and notes <<

Intro:

- many of base roms appeared here and every one has advantages and disadvantages, so before 2-3 weeks i started to collect and mix the contents for every base rom to get a new base rom which has advantages for every base rom and removing many of issues.

- the base roms are 15341, 15342, and 1413 ( with some of 1437 apps).

- many of chefs and cookers using compressed of OS dll's which make the device has many and many of issues (maybe they don't know), but with this release i didn't compress any dll or module, (NOTHING COMPRESSED).

- many of roms integrate Touch apps which has many of issues, so i didn't integrated any of touch contents, if you want them install them yourself).

- i can't collect all of users favorite apps or settings, so if you want to do it yourself use the official rom then install whatever you want.

- some of apps have older version, i know there are newer but that means there are issues with the newer one.

- if there are some updates you will see the last update on the title and at the begining.

- if you didn't try TNT series before, you have to have a look.

- TNT series don't include SPL, IPL, ... etc, JUST the OS rom, so its very safe for G4 users.

I'm currently running TNT3.0 Professional but rarely use the extra apps. It looks like TNT4.0 Official has everything I need except:

- PIM Backup 2.5 (I sync via Exchange server but this backs up ringtone settings)
- Total Commander
- Internet Sharing
- Remote Desktop Mobile
- black Keyboard skin (looks nice in TNT3.0)

I can get PIM Backup 2.5 and Total Commander. The black Keyboard skin is around here somewhere I'm sure.. I have Remote Desktop Mobile from this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317692) thread. However - where can I find a CAB to add Internet Sharing? I found a couple threads that list an EXE a DLL and a shortcut along with a couple registry places to export. I can get the shortcut and registry from my TNT3.0
but can't copy the EXE or DLL off the phone..

thanks..

Is it possible to install it back using voip.cab (or other) or is voip definitely unusable on pro rom ?
and voip installed on official rom or not ? (nevermind for this question....I really must learn how to read ;)

thx for reply (and of course thx for hard work)

Just a quick question, I don't see the wifi connectivity icon (near the signal strength icon and edge icon) when I connect to wifi. Has this been disabled? If so, can I re-enable it.

Thanks.

Thats odd, mine shows up just fine. I just flashed my G3 wizard with this rom.

What is your power drain? mine is at like 260ish.

Yeah, after a couple soft resets it seems to be working fine. Thanks, thought.

My power drain is about the same - between 260 and 270 so far.

Is this ROM really missing the "Internet Sharing" as mentioned in one of older posts?
I use my MDA Vario for connecting my home computer to the Internet so if it is missing (and it cannot be installed) then it is a show stopper for me...

If it is really so:
- I think it would be better to leave some 3rd party applications which can be installed separately and not the part of the OS which cannot be installed separately...

I did not try the ROM myself yet, I would like to find out about the Internet Sharing first... As I said it is an essentiall application for me.

Thanks

Mirek

i got used to finger scrolling from touch and also with the cube. :D
I think the cube will only take memory if you use it and the fingher scrool is really helpfull.
The only problem i know of is the X/OK button but this seem to work fine in NBD roms.
Can you include it in a next ver? from what i know you cannot added after you flash the rom, it has to be built with.

1) is there a way to hide contacts in the contacts?
2) How can I add apps to that little bar at the bottom of the today screen?

1. yes there is, its called "showsim" contact
2. look for tray launch, or you can use battery status, it has its own traylaunch you can costumize

just copy this files to your device and install it

well i just cant flash my G4 CID unlocked device. Im using windows vista and i cant flash properly in it says Error 300 even using the wizard love dll and vista update tool.

Has anyone using G4 unlocked and vista been able to flash this one_?? any advice will be hot.

Of course ive read the vista flashing tutorial but still i cant make it work..

Ive just seen the that vista utility is 2.00 is there a vista utility higher than 2.00??? it seem that this will work only with higher version vista utility like 2.5, but the one with the wizard love rom crashes when i try to use it.

I havent had any problem using this ROM it like its a perfect mix between the best of each of the last 10 ROMS.

Got a problem on mine. Can someone out there try setting Notification/Messaging:New E-mail message to vibrate and then using power button, put wizard into stby mode. Send an e-mail to whatever account you have setup on the wizard and see if it does in fact vibrate when you get the e-mail.

My vibrate does not work for incoming e-mail.

tried as well. Mine does not vibrate either.

that's because the voice speed dial program is not installed. Install the cab posted below and then soft reset, should be ok after that.

Sadly I have had this problem with all WM5/6 ROMs I have tried. I'm beginning to agree with other posters that it's a problem with the Wizard / base code.

On my Wizard, it did work with the initial T-mobile MDA release, the 2.26 release from T-Mobile and TNT 1 and 2.

I think TNT 3 is when it stopped working.

I have a fellow Wizarder here that is still on TNT 2 because he has to have this function.

EDIT: I should add a very important point. This IS the only real problem I am having with this GREAT (!!!!) ROM! If this problem is resolved, I will have my final ROM on my Wizard!
Of course, I'd always be ready to play with another. 4.0 + fix would be my stable, always return to rom!

It's Right, Thank you again for everything you are putting into this effort. I am sure you know how much it is appreciated!

I am experiencing a problem w/data (GPRS) and either tower hand-off and/or roaming.

Flashing sequence: TMO 2.26 -> TNT 4 PRO VOIP -> TMO UK 2.19.11 -> hard reset

I'm a TMO US customer, but I roam on Cingular daily. What is happening is when I change from TMO <-> Cingular, the system hand-off is fine. I am registered on the new system and voice works fine, but data does not automatically connect. I sync with my Exchange server and use push. Under activesync, it says connected for Exchange, and under the comm manager, the push icon is activated, but I do not have a data connection.

I manually do an activesync or connect to a web page and it goes through the connection process and connects without errors and the signal meter changes to the G or E above the strengh; however, I can't get anywhere. I have to do a soft reset and then it all works.

This is also the case if I turn the phone off and turn wifi on. When I go back and turn the phone on and wifi off, then I still have to do a soft reset in order for data to work, voice works fine. (note: I need to turn phone off at my house because I have no signal at all)

I never run wifi and phone at the same time. I've never had good luck with this since wm2003.

Another thing that seems funny is that there is another small provider TMO has an agreement with, AIRADIGM, that I roam on, and I do not have this problem.

One thing I can think of is that TMO and AIRADIGM are on 1900 and Cingular is 850. The only other thing I noticed with TNT 4 from other roms (TNT 3, NBD, XM62a) is that when turning off the phone and switching to wifi, push is still activated. I thought that push only worked with with cellular data and not wifi? Enhancement or bug?

IF anyone has any ideas or can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for any assistance and for a nice clean rom!

Not sure if this is a radio issue or not...

A little more testing and watching the phone, data, and push icons in comm manager I have found the problem I think to be with push email. When I have push enabled and the phone loses a signal or I turn the phone off, the push email icon remains active, and I also cannot turn it off. I tap the icon and I get the spinning clock, the icon grays out, then it comes on full color again.

If I turn the phone radio on again or the signal comes back, push email is still on and data is off. If I try to sync, it makes the data connection, but I cannot get anywhere. I still cannot turn off push.

A soft reset clears everything and then everything works. Could push be holding the IP information from the previous data session?

Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

Sorry, you'll have to be a bit clearer than that. Which settings?

If I go Start > Settings and scroll up, the top-most option is "Buttons". If I go all the way into the "Clock & Alarms" settings, the uppermost option is to set my timezone, time and date, but there's no option of 12/24hr clock.

I'll conced that there's every chance I'm being incredibly blind/dumb here, but I can't find it for the life of me.

From what i know you cannot... :-(
I also want the same thing.
For scrolling you have to change a dll in the OS but since it is used from boot time you cannot.
It was a separate thread about this but they did not came up with a solution.
You have to include this dll in the build of the rom.
The nice part is that once you have this dll in you can disable/enable the scroll via a simple reg Key.

Maybe next build will include the biotouch.dll  pleaseeee :D

Go here for the cab:

And then apply these two tweaks:
1. This one may already be implemented after the cab install.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path = "\Windows\SDDialer.exe"

2. HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = "OEMAGW.dll"

Left the phone off for 6hrs, on the charger so it had full battery, it ignored the SMS and the phone call from my wife.

Evidently, you and I have a different setup. I have a WIZA100 (Cingular 8125). I have the the TNT 4.0 with the 02.69.11 Radio Rom and it works. However, I am having some other issues so I plan to try the "official" version and just add the cabs for the additional functions that I want. You might try that before you give up on the Radio Rom.

Hiya. I've installed TNT 4.0. Great ROM. Only a few questions.

I have Wizard on T-mobile US. I have configured the network to be wap.voicestream.com along with the proper proxy and the internet explorer is working fine. However, when I lose reception(i.e. subway) I can't not get the netwrok to work and ope web pages. the connection balloon shows that I'm connected to the network. After I do the soft reset, the computer is ok.

can anyone please comment on these issues?

OK, well, here's for just the T-Mobile Internet settings

Start > Settings > Connections tab > Connections
Goto Advanced tab and tap Select Networks
Under the first drop down, tap "New..."
On General Tab, you can name it anything, I just typed "T-Mobile Data"
Goto Modem tab and tap New
For connection name, it again doesn't matter, so I type "T-Zones", and select "Cellular Line (GPRS)" in the drop down menu. Tap next
Type "wap.voicestream.com" for the access point (minus quotes of course). Tap Next
Tap Finish
Now goto the Proxy Settings tab (which magically appears when new settings are created :) )
Make sure both boxes are checked, and put 216.155.165.50 in the proxy server box. Tap Advanced
Tap the HTTP line, and make sure the port is 8080 (by default it is just 80).
Hit OK once, then hit OK again. The first drop down should now have T-Mobile Data selected.
Do a soft reset and then Internet should be working...I did my steps, but could not get it working until I did #13... had to do a soft reset for some reason... This should at least get your tzones working again... Working on the MMS settings now...

Tap New... (you may want to delete the Sample settings while your in there
Fill in below info:
Enter T-Mobile MMS (or whatever you want) in the Server Name field.
Enter 216.155.165.050 in the Gateway field.
Enter 8080 in the Port number field.
Enter http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms in the Server address field.
Tap to select T-Mobile Data from the Connect via drop down list.
Tap to select WAP 2.0 from the WAP Version dropdown.
Tap OK.
If you have more than one setting in here, scroll to T-Mobile MMS (or whatever name you put in the Server name filed) and tap Set As Default.
Tap OK.Enjoy!

Top problems with this ROM.

1) Memory Leak
Stable (after a few days) at 34,8 MB.
2) Problems awaking from stand by
No problem here.
3) When you reset your phone the ring sound doesnt sound, you have to select it again to make it work again.
Works like a charm on my T-Mobile Vario.
4) If you take a movie and try to delete just after taking it the device hangs.
Can't reproduce this one.
5) Wi-fi doesnt start at the first try.
Check. For some odd reason, if you enable it the first time, it takes five seconds to "think" and then still is disabled. Press it again and WiFi will enable within a second. Inconvenient, yes. A real problem? No.
6) Cannot send files via bluetooth. It gets to the send screeen and locks.
No problem when using Total Commander. Oddly enough, the Send/Beam by BlueTooth option is missing in the Windows File Explorer.

I suspect the subtle differences in the hardware to be the cause of this behaviour. I've had troubles with other ROMS on my machine, while others used it without a glitch.

I dont really believe you dont have this issues. Memory leak is normal up to a point. So its unreal to have stable 34.8 Program Memory, are you only watching your phone without using it?? Perhaps you are refering to Storage Memory thats completly different.

Agreed that wifi is not a real problem, but its not working perfectly thats why it has been adressed.

The issues regarding not turning on appers randomly.

Its not a flame post. I repeat i only brought into attention the most common problems of this ROM. Only to find a solution or workaround :) Best Regards,.

Try flashing again. Remember to remove the mini sd card and turning off the radio while using the shell tool. Also remember to disable any firewall and antivirus. Do not use your computer while flashing. Go take a coffe and when you get back 10-20 mins your flashing will be done.

Reflash to Love Rom and try again.

Great job. Seems better/more stable than the older one(TNT 3,2,1).

There're still a few issue,
1. Battery losts fast

Yes, I was refering to storage memory (since you didn't mention which memory you refered to), but my free program memory is fairly stable at 20 MB (it seems to decrease a few dozen kB's per day; I can live with that, because my original T-Mob ROM had the same issue).

The issues regarding not turning on appers randomly.

Just pointing out that the ROM works pretty flawless on my hardware, so the problems mentioned don't occur in general.

1)on my bluetooth folder : everytime i open this one my storage card is not recognizavle heard that dew reset can fix it but as for me does not work
I'm sorry, but I don't quite get your question?

2) real player has some missing file: dont know what
RealPlayer works flawlessly on my machine. That is, if you'd ever want to use it. Personally I resent RealPlayer.

3) battery drain
I enabled the CPU Scaler of the Battery Today Screen plugin (this plugin is default enabled). The Scaler automatically under/overclocks the CPU according to demands. Even with Live and PushMail on, I now have a better battery life than previously with WM5. Without the Scaler, the battery lasts about 16 hours (with Pushmail and Live). With the Scaler, it easily lasts 1,5 days.

I have experienced some SEVERE problems with ILauncher. I have to limit its use on my device. Actually, I now have other tools that I like as well as (or better than) ILauncher - except for the TaskManager function. That is the only reason that I keep it.

My experience of ILauncher on this ROM is that it will get conflicted and lock up the system. On at least a couple of occasions, I thought that the device was bricked. It somehow got into a loop (with some other ap?) and was using 100% of the CPU. So the only answer was to remove the battery, then restart and just leave it for 1/2 hour until it got to the normal home screen. At that point, I was finally able to get to either 1) TotalCmd and delete the startup links or, 2) get to the TODAY setup and remove ILauncher.

I hope this helps you or someone else. Or, that you can help me understand my issue better.

Will give it another crack. I am aslo now running the production version of 4.0 Prof. I was running a "special" early release of 4.0 when I tried PhoneAlarm Lite the 1st time. Will try the full version this time with your suggestion.
Thanks for the direction!

I 've got similar problem. I have a locked g4. When I the XPRUU, after the 3 colour screen, updating stops. It tells "invalid update tool" need a newer version.

For G4's we need a newer version of the update utility and we also need that is works under vista.

I use vista ultimate. So i hope the update utility is also 64 bits friendly.. :)

Best Regards.

Ok. Got it working but.........what a kludge! Not only to you have to set everything up in phone alarm but after tweaking those settings, you have to go back into sounds and notifications get turn those back on to for it to work.
The only reason phone alarm makes this work is that it brings the device out of STBY!

I had half a mind (NO COMMENTS) to send something to M..you know who and see how supportive of our efforts they really want to be.

This is most certainly a bug with e-mail notifications. Without phone alarm loaded, I just verified phone calls and SMS messages trigger vibration alert while in stby!

UPDATE: Well, I guess I have half a mind. Here is the post I just made on M$ WM forum. Should be interseting to see what kind of responce I get.

The good thing about phoneAlarm, though, is that you can set it up so that WM6 handles all of the notifications, except for the emails (if that is the way you like it). In the display tab, uncheck the notifications you want WM6 to handle (SMS, MMS etc...), then close the phoneAlarm settings screen, and re-open again. When you go to the profiles tab, you will only have to setup notifications in phoneAlarm for the notifications that are checked in the display tab. So, if you only have email checked, then all you will have to configure is email. I have configured phoneAlarm to handle my email, SMS, and reminders. I then went into the sounds and notifications in wm6, and turned off all wm6 notifications for emails, SMS, and reminders. The result is that when I get an email, reminder, or SMS, wm6 isn't handling my notifications; phoneAlarm is.

Nevertheless, you are right there is a bug, and a third party program should not be needed. I haven't tried some of the newer builds (1437) that whiterat has gotten I think from the hermes or trinity, but I have a feeling that this problem got fixed in the iNgEnEtics build, and therefore, in every build after that. That also explains when this was not a problem in TNT 2.0. Personally, I do not mind having to use phoneAlarm, because everything else in this ROM works great!

Lurked for a long time, posted a few times (Edit: okay, I guess this is actually my first post on this forum). So thanks for listening, and thanks a ton for the GREAT ROM!

When I was fiddling yesterday with loading a new WM6 ROM on my Wizard (Been using Wi6ard for months, but it finally got some bad battery drain issues and it was time to switch!) I settled on trying TNT 4 and NBD. I tried NBD first, but it wasn't for me, and I absolutely LOVE TNT 4 Pro. However, there was one thing about NBD that I loved, and it would be great if it could be included in this ROM too.

Autoconfigure network settings.

So, once I booted up, it asked if I wanted it to set up my GRPS / etc connections... which it did like a champ, and it worked great. It was a nice, quick, no-hassle way to get those darned settings done quick. And I could say NO if I wanted to! If there is a CAB to do that, or some other easy way to grab that from NBD, I think that would make a sweet addition to this ROM.

Also, if it is a cab, does someone mind posting a link? I've looked, and couldn't find. I've got mine set up just fine, but I flashed a friends phone with TNT 4 Pro today and it would just save a bunch of time if I could use a quicker solution in the future.

Anyway, if that's a possibility I think it would be great, and thanks again for the AWESOME ROM -- I'm hooked!

I have read in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323497 that this ROM does not suffer from unreliable missing call notification when data connection is active (you know, sometimes the missing call is registered as 1 or 2 second call).

...
try to use a version based on 5.2.1413 or a TNT rom.
All other have this issue.
I recommend NBD 7.9 if you want Touch or latest TNT if you dont really need touch
...

Is this really so? I would like to confirm this before possible flash (I am happy with WRCX 3 ROM, but it has the issue)

There is a nice utility for changing page pool in a few seconds with just soft reset:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323538

Works perfectly on TNT 4.0 (I changed PP from 6 MB to 4 MB to get memory).
May be a good thing to mention on the first page.

Hi

I just Switched to TNT a few days agoa, and must say that am loving it.
However I have a small problem, which I am unable to solve.
I'm in the Uk on the T-mobile network, and the way voicemail works on it is to have a special no, i.e. +44074********** (your mobile no).

The proble i'm having is that everytime I try to dial the voicemail service, it refuses to dial the 0 between 44 and 74, meaning that i cannot get through.
Have tried manually changing the voice mail setteins and doing a soft reset after a few minutes as well as saving the number as a entry in the phone book, but still the same problem.

would appriciate if anyone has any idea why it is hapeing and how to solve it, as I hae to admint i'm a WM6 Newbie.
Thanks

Nice thing to hear. :-)
I just hope that registering properly missing calls when having active data connection will still work as well as in TNT 4.0 (this was the main reason why I choose it instead of more modern WCRX 3 build - unfortunately WHITERAT's builds have the problem).
I also hope that if you use a new ROM, it will have drivers properly rebased...

Thanks for your excellent work.

I'm having a problem!
I can't connect to the internet over activesync.
It always tries to use the connection I've created in the settings.

I already tried to change the register key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services

But the problem still remains.

Any ideas?

HI
Tried that. Still have the same problem.
WM6 seems to insist on removing the 0 between "+44" and "74" in "+44074"
Hope someone can help me solve this prob.
Thanks
B

Fixed.
Seems that while the dll does not in self fix the problem, after copying thhe dll to the windows folder, the device does allow you to add an extra zero there which in turn is removed, giving the correct number.
before using the USSD_Service.dll the device would remove all extra zeros.

So thanks. Hope it can help anyone else who has a similar proble as well.

I have read the whole of this thread and was sad to see some people having problems with TNT v4.0 ROM and I hope they will be able to fix the problems on their Wizards.

I installed TNT v4.0 three days ago on a T-Mobile UK MDA Vario and have not had a SINGLE problem yet. So it makes me think that it can't be the ROM but maybe another problem on a users phone like unlock status, previous ROMs etc.

This ROM is absolutely fantastic because for me it works very fast and is very stable. I have never had a ROM that did not leak a little memory over time so it is normal.

THANK YOU so much for making this ROM available to us. I do know how much hard work goes in to this and I appreciate it very much. Hell, keeping up with the thousands of new posts on this forum every day is a full time job so I don't understand how you get the time. :)

It looks like a great ROM but I have a question regarding memory specs: The very first post indicates that the storage memory is about the same for both versions, about 43 M. In fact, it indicates that there is more memory for the Professional version even though it has many more app's (!). Is it an error? If so, what's the correct amount of free memory for both options?

Thanks!

No you are not doing it right. I guess you are CID locked and you need either to unlock or use shelltools (the only option if you have G4).
Read, read, read....
BTW: you can be happy that current ROMs here are released without IPL/SPL (because of cases like yours). Otherwise you would have a nice paperweight by now...

I've got this ROM on my phone and am really enjoying it. The choice of applications is great and I have found it to be very stable so far.

I had a flashing issue and I've worked around it but not solved it. It's nagging away at me so I thought I'd ask here.

Until I put TNT4.0 on my (G3) Wizard I was using mfrazzz's XM6 3. To flash TNT4.0 I wanted to go to an official ROM first (as we all are constantly advised to do) so I tried the T-Mobile 2.26 ROM which has always worked for me in the past. No dice. I kept getting "error [302]: update error". Googling and searching these forums didn't help. So I thought I'd go down to the Button 1.05 and then to the T-Mobile 2.26. Button flashed fine but still T-Mobile resulted in error 302. So I just flashed TNT 4.0.

TNT is now working just fine. I'm syncing with my Outlook Exchange server, I'm making and receiving calls, I'm online without issues. My boot numbers are showing the following:

ipl: 1.01
spl: 1.01.0000
gsm: 1.12.10.0
os: 2.18.0.0

I love the TNT boot screen but I see the Button pint glass first.

So the question is.... do I need to change anything?

It looks like the Esmertec midlet manager version most of people are using is just a time limited trial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326951
I can confirm that the Esmertec in TNT 4.0 no longer works (unless changing date back).

So unless somebody cracks it, I guess it is time to return to "Intent Tao Midlet Manager". Anyway - its major problem was eliminated (Opera Mini 4 Beta 2 no longer crashes it as Beta 1 did).
By the way: if you decide to do that - check that the used version of Intent allows "session" based network security - there are versions which allow just "oneshot" security and it is a pain to allow the network access every time the midlet connects to the network...

So that's why it doesn't load anymore. It's been bugging me - yesterday I tried a couple of soft resets and then just gave up. Good to know it's not me, my device, a bad flash, or a corrupted midlet on my device.

I guess it is time to return to "Intent Tao Midlet Manager"
If anyone wants to Google this or search these forums it's actually the "Tao Intent Midlet Manager"

Now, about that new version of TNT....

Well, I finally loaded TNT4 and it looked fantastic. However, I found several issues that caused me to go back and reload NBD9.1
fistly the Bluetooth is a really old driver, and audio to my headphones is pretty crappy.
Also the Uconnect in the car no longer displays the signal or battery meter on the NAV
DrYar BT doesnt seem to work at all
the battery drain is extreme, 2 hours lost me 20% with onlt BT turned on and the std radio.
The Touch software is not important to me, so that is why I tried TNT. the applications list is pretty awesome

Please fix the next release soon as i miss SNAKE :)

I'd appreciate freeing up more Storage in the versions to come.

Feeling a bit stupid here cause I have loaded and installed heaps of different roms onto different phones....

Using a G3, and have installed the 2.26 ROM as everyone seems to require, however, when I run this particular update TNT 4.0 Professional, it runs through, it says the ROM is loading, and the lines on the screen and on the phone say 100% installed.

Then it resets and keeps the same original ROM as if it never wrote to the device at all, even though it says it was.

Any hints or tips or pointers.

No activity here for quite a while.
Running the ROM for a while now and have had no problems to report.
I remember having the WM5 ROM from someone else and if the memory got below 10MB the device got very slow but with this WM6 ROM even if the memory goes below 10MB it is still just as fast as when 25MB free. Although the memory leaks I sometimes have are from other installed programs especially ActiveSync.
