Video Touch Flo Work perfect in B&B v4.0

I set up this for Tom, I am sure my space is about to have to add a server.

Okay, I am going to let the cat out of the bag, I have been testing B&B 4.0 BETA'S for about a week.
Tom is very particular about releasing his ROMS due to his desire for perfection, he works day and night trying to get this thing right, but is working overtime at his real job trying to keep in good financial standings.
This is extremely difficult as a student as most of you know, so I feel that it necessary for US as a community to show this guy some support.

Now onto what you all want to know, this Rom is super fast, faster than B&B 3.7. The touchflo works as if it were native, not a single bit of slow down. Anything that you have a scroll bar on you can use the touchflo on, meaning EVERYTHING. It is simply awesome.
It is now my opinion that our device out does any and all existing devices.
The release on the ROM is pending, there are still a few small tweaks that need donedue to the fact that Tom is having to volunteer for overtime at work, bills must be paid...
Dont get me wrong, he will finish it soon, but the less he has to volunteer at work the sooner we get the final version.
I am sure Tom will be embarrased by me being so blunt, but I cant help it, this guy is working his:eek: off and ask for nothing, he only posts the links for donations after we prod him.

Some people need CAPS before they can read something.

Like in my previous post, it just need some final testing before Tom will release it. Lots of people complained about v3.7 cause it feels like he didn't test that rom properly... and now he is testing it intensif, and people are complaining about why they can't download it?? You just can't do right for human beings...

Just be patient, if the rom feels right, and there are as less possible bugs, I'm sure Tom will release it asap...

1. i don't want to loose my garantee so , it is possible to reflash exacly my factory rom config : rom , os , radio ,extrom ecc ecc ( there is a way to extract that info from my phone ? )

2. I don't want to reinstall all the programs of my wm5 rom , it is safe to restore a wm5 sprite backup file ( v5.1 ) into the new wm6 rom ?

Hi Maurizio :D

1) I Think is possible to restore original ROM but is very difficult to dump it and make it usable. In any case is not a problem, early Italian HTC will relase new "original" wm6 rom...To not invalidate warranty, flash the original wm6 and everything gonna be alright :P

2) I've tried older version of spb backup(bundle with p3300) and have problem with wm6, latest version has no problem with wm6, but I save only contacts and sms, mms and mail...I think is not good save programs (is possible that programs not work from wm5 backup on wm6 s.o.).

Good news that dialpad works fine, but have you tried another Dialer with "full-screen" numbers' button? Imho is better to use with fingers.

I have to agree with my previous writers: Seeing these screenshots I probably will not install B&B 4.0 because of the B&B texts that seem to be randomly placed over several screens.
One of the key features of 3.0 and 3.7 was the very cool black and blue screen design. Placing "B&B" or "Black and Blue 4.0" on the screen makes it look less professional.

I would appreciate it VERY MUCH if you limited the appearance of the name Black&Blue to the boot screen.

Just my 2¢ and I hope the logos will be removed before the final release.

There may be a solution - good for all. Of course Tom ist proud of his grat job. I would be too. And he´s got the right to put his Logo on it like he want´s to do. Maybe there´s a designer here, who can integrate the Logo of Tom professionaly. Perhaps part of the appeal of a non-official OS release is the total absence of branding....

If those of us who don't want branding can persuade Tom not to use the branding then we will most likely use the ROM, and subsequently support him in his future efforts.

It is Tom's prerogative to put the logos on if he wants. Just the same as it is up to the individual device owner to decide if he wants to use Tom's ROMs and perhaps make a donation to him in appreciation of his work.

I already use a Touch-Flo version of WM6 on my Orbit, but it is loaded with crap that I don't want and don't need. Tom's ROMs tend not to be over-loaded with extras, after all we can put those on from .cab files if we want them.

Will it work on my HTC 8125? As for the Logo, there was someone who posted a nice graphic. Perhaps a slick not in your face graphic is what is needed. You should be able to brand your work... good job!!

Very nice :D The startup screen is a GO i think :P still dont like any logo @ the phone dailer..i prefer empty or bigger buttons. Not that i dont like to show around with the B&B rom but in main function it is a phone and i like to use the phone with my hands and not the stylus

i hope i can have BOTH b&b v4 AND GPS working. i'm using spv m650, and as we users of this branded device already know, Orange has been fiddling with artemis' gps. i hope tom's found a way around that.

i also hope there'll be a BIGGER photo in the dialer whenever i dial a contact with a picture associated to the number.

but no matter... lack of these things doesn't make this ROM less awesome. great work, tom! keep it up!

I really like the idea of having us all try to create a logo that looks stunning and professional, kinda like a competition. McGuffin already posted one and I think it looks pretty good.

If we all tried to contribute something to this, the ROMs are getting better. The more people test the beta versions, the less bugs we will have. We can donate, offer server or webspace, files and so on. This is a community and we can make the best out of it by contributing to it.

I have to disagree, whilst I have no problem with the start-up logo. But would not want to see the dialler or any other screen include logos. It spoils the look.

Just my preference.

I have to disagree, whilst I have no problem with the start-up logo. But would not want to see the dialler or any other screen include logos. It spoils the look.

what happend? what parts are broken? unfortunately, i cant see anything wrong on these pics (well, its a mess, but i guess it was a mess when it was still working :eek: )

i hope i can have BOTH b&b v4 AND GPS working. i'm using spv m650, and as we users of this branded device already know, Orange has been fiddling with artemis' gps. i hope tom's found a way around that.

i also hope there'll be a BIGGER photo in the dialer whenever i dial a contact with a picture associated to the number.

but no matter... lack of these things doesn't make this ROM less awesome. great work, tom! keep it up!

Using this keyboard for last two weeks and don't need to remove stylus for typing anymore.

I setup Iphone layout and buttons are really in best size to use fingers.

PS: Great work TOM. I fall into the Artemis world two weeks ago but really appreciate your work. Have couple of problems with 3.7 but fixed now. Donation going to your account when i get $. (hopefully 4.0 will be already out.)

Also tried it but it isn't localizable and therefore useless for non English users. Furthermore, it doesn't support gestures so using it with a stylus makes it slower than the default keyboard.

By the way, there is a modificated version of the layouot with nicer space, return, backspace, Apple and arrow keys.

I am waiting for something like this (http://blog.gustavobarbieri.com.br/2007/07/24/iphone-like-virtual-keyboard-for-n800/) for wm6. Showing the actual key while your finger is on it really makes a lot more sense.

Yeah that's true for sure but !!!.
Usually i don't want to comment anything what you type on internet but in this case...
This keyboard is primary for usage with fingers and I mentioned use it as a one of default keyboards not as a replace of it.
When i need type something in my language i using other input method but when i need to enter text quickly on the street i using this one. I don't know if you inserting special character into the SMS,web address, Contacts, Calendar etc. but usually i can work just with ENG keyboard at all.
(sync issues, Nokia SMS standard etc.)

I prefer working without stylus because if i am on the street i don't want to hit lamp with my head.

If you will take a look into that topic with this keyboard looks as keyboard can be customized so you can go ahead and do it for you. I think this forum is in english so majority of members here should be interest in this input. If they use ENG rom.

but to the end that was just idea for improvement of this great new rom.

I strongly believe that apps that only certain (small) percentage of people need should NOT be part of ROM, without possibility to uninstall, as you can easily install it yourself. Or apps where you have 20+ competing producers, and everybody prefers different one. Or would you appreciate Russian, Chinese and Japanese keyboards as part of the package as well, taking 3-4MB of space?

I prefer myself Sunnysoft Fullscreen keyboard to enter data on Artemis:

Some other people will prefer Resco Keyboard, Interkey Pro, HiKeyboard, SPB Keyboard, HTC PhonePad and/or TenGo.

People all over the world use English ROM because there is nothing else available in WM6, but they want to write Spanish, Chinese, Czech, and/or Thai. And those people prefer tens of different keyboards. It is 30 seconds work to install it yourself, why pollute the ROM?

i don't know about the swiss m650, but the french ones have definitely been tampered with. but it's a good thing kulbutor's been able to come up with a patch to get around to that. it would be nice, though, if we just upgrade tom's v4 and not do anything else to get the gps to function. :)

Okay, I am going to let the cat out of the bag, I have been testing B&B 4.0 BETA'S for about a week.
Tom is very particular about releasing his ROMS due to his desire for perfection, he works day and night trying to get this thing right, but is working overtime at his real job trying to keep in good financial standings.
This is extremely difficult as a student as most of you know, so I feel that it necessary for US as a community to show this guy some support.

Now onto what you all want to know, this Rom is super fast, faster than B&B 3.7. The touchflo works as if it were native, not a single bit of slow down. Anything that you have a scroll bar on you can use the touchflo on, meaning EVERYTHING. It is simply awesome.
It is now my opinion that our device out does any and all existing devices.
The release on the ROM is pending, there are still a few small tweaks that need donedue to the fact that Tom is having to volunteer for overtime at work, bills must be paid...
Dont get me wrong, he will finish it soon, but the less he has to volunteer at work the sooner we get the final version.
I am sure Tom will be embarrased by me being so blunt, but I cant help it, this guy is working his:eek: off and ask for nothing, he only posts the links for donations after we prod him.

I say almost because there is no perfect rom. Even HTC has bugs in his rom.

Not everybody lives in a country that has perfect internet connections.
I do. But there are some country's that have not so great infrastructure as here.

So when is internet connection goes down. It is not Tom's fault.
And now his computer can't take his hard work anymore. That's not Tom fault either.

This things happen and i know it sucks. Tom knows that as well.

TOM, your help to the Artemis community is enormous and your productivity has been amazing. I can't imagine how you could have produced so many ROM versions over such a short time. So take your time. We're patiently looking to hearing news from your work.

And please don't feel being pushed too much. Remember to enjoy the summer now in Russia as well. I still remember how beautiful it's there. As far as I can see you haven't even got your holidays this summer :)

I don't know what people are thinking of donations in this forum but for me it means that I give some money to a person to support him and to show gratitude for the work he has done, in this case that's Tom.

I didn't make a donation to Tom to get a job done, for example creating v4.0 in German - of course, would be awesome.
I can live without v4.0 although I'd be happy to see it. Right now I'm on vacation and when I had access to the internet, I was surprised that Tom was already working on v4.0. When I come back he might already have finished 5 or 6, who knows.

I don't want to install a ROM on my PDA every other week but rather have a ROM and keep it for half a year or so. So please stop complaining about your donations or waiting for Version "whatever" in whatever language.

This is supposed to be FUN in here, so relax everyone! I'm having fun with Tom's creations, what about you?

It is unreasonable to donate and then expect something in the short term, even if its V4.
If the donations to Tom result in him being able to fix his PC and buying better broadband etc then it may benefit us as well in the long term.
If he wants to spend it on a few beers as I have said before then thats up to him.
I hope he continues to support Artemis as its the best phone I have ever had and I have a Universal (Little support now) and Wizard (Qtec) as well, + a few Nokias.

In Poland Artemis is sell by HTC, Orange, and ERA (ERA is t-mobile group) all wersion is in Polish, maybe when I copy some files, and change it...? (but I don't know with files)

And in Deutschland maybe is the same...

I'm writing to u cause u said something abt tom's pc getting crashed, so pls this msg to him.
Tom gave me his B&B V4 to try in the orbit..I must say this rom is fast, faster than the 3.7. He had made improvements like the X button problem, and also the registry changes for the battery indicator and things like that. I tried everything. works faster and more stable too. the camera works perfect even the gps:D . Sounds is louder too, well I think.

A major improvement I found is that the audio player does not mute when I press the power button to turn off the screen and to lock the keypads.:D :D .
Before the sound mutes if I turn the screen off. this is a big big improvement. As I am always on the go with the music. previousely the battery flat lines if I play the music too long. Now I think it will last much longer.

And ya.. the cube (yes touch flo is integrated into this rom)thingy does not seems to work the way tom said. I could not assign the hard ware button to the cube launcher, I think it doesn't work that way in the artemis but I think tom said it works in his prophet and I have seen the video in you tube. I can get the cube loaded in to the OS, and it works, but cannot assign the hard ware button. :( . I think he has to work on it or may be tom and I have to talk abt it.

Other than the cube thingy, everything else is just super. I must say this is a better version than before. so pls tell him and I will be back later tonight.

and Ya!! what type of PDA have u flashed the B&B 4. And 4 the rest of U guys out there!! keep u'r pants on.. V4 is on it's way

i think this is the only page that am visiting everyday apart from yahoo! mail. that's how eager i am to try tom's new rom, v4.0. common tom, i am very impatient when it comes to phones and computers, if it's in beta/testing time, i am more than happy to test it for you and report any bugs (which am sure wont be, or none)

I'm writing to u cause u said something abt tom's pc getting crashed, so pls this msg to him.
Tom gave me his B&B V4 to try in the orbit..I must say this rom is fast, faster than the 3.7. He had made improvements like the X button problem, and also the registry changes for the battery indicator and things like that. I tried everything. works faster and more stable too. the camera works perfect even the gps:D . Sounds is louder too, well I think.

And ya.. the cube (yes touch flo is integrated into this rom)thingy does not seems to work the way tom said. I could not assign the hard ware button to the cube launcher, I think it doesn't work that way in the artemis but I think tom said it works in his prophet and I have seen the video in you tube. I can get the cube loaded in to the OS, and it works, but cannot assign the hard ware button. :( . I think he has to work on it or may be tom and I have to talk abt it.

Other than the cube thingy, everything else is just super. I must say this is a better version than before. so pls tell him and I will be back later tonight.

and Ya!! what type of PDA have u flashed the B&B 4. And 4 the rest of U guys out there!! keep u'r pants on.. V4 is on it's way

I'm also Beta testing the rom. But the Cube is working fine with my phone.
Just assigned the hardware button and it works like a charm.

The strange thing is that mine Photogps is not working and on your phone it works. On your phone GPS is working and the Cube is not working

You have a Orbit and i have a MDA Compact 3.

Did you copied the Applaucher as a shortcut to your startmenu / programs directory?

Hi,
I have held back saying so but it seems that at least three of us including me are trying the beta version of Toms v4.
But please do not ask for a download as we have agreed with Tom that we will not provide one. Please don't ask Tom for a download as Tom will release the full version when he is ready.

So I am happy to take some of the load off Tom (whilst he is having computer problems) and others may also be willing. I can only test features if I know what to look for. I am not in Toms league and not fit to kiss his shoes, so if you ask any question bear that in mind.

This is beta and may have changed in the final version. There is not much point in asking for images as I know the beta is not the same as the final version.

I have had it since Friday night and have yet to find any issues that cause me a problem, but I do not use all the features.
The graphics are same as 3.7 as far as I recall and not as in Toms previous display so I may have an earier beta release.

I do not use the camera GPS feature and do not even know how to access it. If you tell me how I will check it out.

I do use
It has an 8 button comm manager.

I purchased both pocketbreeze and iLaucher a couple of year ago but have used them less and less as 3.7 and now v4 with touch flow is much better and have not installed them yet on v4.

So what does work that I have tested -
I have to say that it is an improvement on 3.7.

I do run batterystatus ver 1.04.203 beta4 and loaded that streight away so cannot say it the rom is natively faster or not. I use this not only to speed up to to save battery as well. Settings in superscaler are 143 min and 247 max with a boost of 260. No problems at all.

Redial Ok now.

Touch flow works very well but I have not been able to allocate a button to it so have used traylauncher to put it on the bottom of the screen.
Scroll works with Word,

X button now works.

I use slide2unlock and V1.18 works fine.

Set up 1 voice dial and works fine.

I dont use the internet as I am on o2 and object to the charges. So I cannot check that or any related application connections.

I do use copilot and it works fine and have that also on bottom tray.

Audio manager works even when power button used to turn off screen.
(Though Windows media does not play when power button off, if it ever did)

Yes it still does, nothing has been found to fix it
just dont use the htchomeplugin, just use the cube for your programs and you should be fine
