Hi Folks,

I know, there are so many postings about problems with the Palm 750v and Blackberry Connect. But because I desperately need help and I can not find a solution for my problem, I raise this question again.

My device:

Treo 750v from Vodafone Germany
Software-Version: TREO750-1.16-VFD (latest one)
Firmware: 1.12.0c.00

For Blackberry I am using the software which Palm and Vodafone promote on their homepage.

Blackberry-Version: 2.1.1.31

My company has an Enterprise server an everything is set-up properly.

NOW THE PROBLEM:

Once it starts connecting to the server, after the message DatecTunnel is available it is going to turn to: NO CONNECTION and this is not going to change.

By the way, the PIN is generated without any problem or failure again.

Pls Folks try to help me, because otherwise my destiny will be that I will be forced by the company to change to a BB device :-( So guys, this is a real emergency case.

Looking forward to your kind reply.

Bye
Dirk

With firmware 1.12.0c you have to use the client 2.1.2.52 attached in this thread:

Hi, thanks for your suggestion. I tried it, but it did not work either.

Any other idea ? I am getting mad about that.

Thanks in advance for your kind help.

Hi, I re-install everything, soft reseted and now it connects. This is the first step, but still I can not receive and send any mail. Any idea ?

You have to cradle the device with the BlackBerry Desktop Configuration Tool for Windows Mobile on a PC within your company network. This way you connect to your companys BES and get the service books you need.

Sorry, maybe I did not mentioned it. I did this already, but still, no success.

Do you have service books on the device? Check the settings in start >> system >> blackberry.
Normally when you start the BB connect desktop and click on connect, you have to generate a key by moving the mouse. Then your calendar is loaded to the device. Did that happen?

Yes, services are booked. I generated the key and calender was loaded. that is all fine. but still no emails are delivered

Delete the service books (should be 3: ALP, CMIME and CICAL). Then cradle the Treo again and click on connect. Calendar is loaded and key generated.
Plug out the device and make sure that no other programs as Active Sync or Internet Explorer are running in the background (check in task manager on the Treo). Then go to blackberry settings and use the option "register now"

Did it, but no change. The only thing I realized, that a key was not generated, by moving the mouse, because system did not asked for it. But when I see the BB Desktop Software, my PIN is still there. Maybe how to clean the BB Desktop Software ? I de-install and install it again, but the PIN is still there. Does it has something to do with that ?

To make sure that everything is fine on your side, do the following:
Uninstall the Desktop Configuration tool.
Then install this version:
http://sems.org/content/download/bbc4/activesync_bbconnect_desktop_setup_4.0.0.17.zip
Don' t use the default path, change it to another one.
Uninstall the BB client from Treo.
When asked if you want to preserve configuration settings, check no.
Reboot the Treo.
Install the BB client again.
Reboot the Treo and when you are connected do register now.
Then cradle the Treo to the new desktop tool and click configure wireless device.
If you still get no emails then, there is a problem with the settings of your user on the BES and you should contact your BlackBerry administrator.

Hi !

I checked with my Admin and with Vodafone. Finally it was a problem on Vodafone side.

That is the comment from VF: I have checked the Phonenumber. The User uses a Palm-Device, and on the RIM-Database, was the Device a Prosumer-Device.

So I changed the settings on the RIM-DB, and resend the necessary Servicebooks. The Device should work better now (maybe make a Softreset from the Palm)

After that and a soft reset all works great.

Thanks for your kind help, which I appreciated a lot.

Hi can you explain how you changed the RIM-DB settings? I have the same issue changing from an E61 trying to setup a Voda 750v

Sorry, I can not tell you, because my ADMIN did that in co-operation with VF. But it seems, that if at VF side your device is registered as a BB it will not work, therefore there must change it. Call your ADMIN and VF and tell them that you are running the BB service with a WM device and tell them it's a PALM Treo.
