Hi all! This is my first post here so, please be nice. :)

This is regards a t-mobile MDA It is a g3 version.

I was trying to reinstall the 2.26 ROM straight from the t-mobile website. It had gotten to about 90% when a connection error came up. It started the "recovery" process, so I did that perfectly, but then, the bootloader randomly restarts when I plug in the USB. Now, I have been doing a lot of reading on this forum. I have disabled wescomm during install, i have stopped all background programs.

I started again. I got to about 10% of the reinstall, when the bootloader restarted itself..again.

I'm sorta thinking it's the battery, but before i did this reinstall, i let the battery fully charge to 100%. So, i don't know how it could've drained so fast, if that is even the problem. The battery is in good condition. It has about a couple days of stand-by time.

Of course now, i'm stuck in bootloader mode that randomly restarts. Is there anyway of making it stop restarting?

How can I get my MDA back? It seems the programs I've found require activesync and my phone doesn't stay on long enough for any of them to work.

Thanks for all your help. I'm sorry if the answers I need were posted elsewhere, I did do a search, so maybe I have just been using the wrong terms...

I have uploaded a YouTube video if you want to see the restarting for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h0Sp37N-ZU

EDITED: I have removed the SD card also.. still no luck. If the phone is bricked, please just tell it to me...just make it fast...:(

EDITED: THE PROBLEM IS FIXED!! THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!! :D

Hi,
This is a battery issue. Everytime you got errors like this, try to recharge it again and redo the flash procedure. I spent a whole day doing it once and it worked!

ok... So, even though the bootloader keeps restarting, it is charging the battery?

thanks!

Use your wall charger instead of the USB cable to be sure that it's charging.

Can we know how you did it? That could be a good help for others

Well, I did what everyone said I should. I did have to jump start the battery, plugging it in did nothing but drain what was left on the battery. So, I read on the forum that a 9V and some twist ties should do it and it did give it some juice to be charged. I had to hunt down the exact wall charger that came with the MDA, because my other wall chargers (for my other phones) didn't charge the phone. But, once I had that all set up, and it was charging because the bootloader screen stayed on the entire time it was charging. So, an hour later I tried the install again, it finally completed. Thank god!

Well, the reason why I wanted to reflash the ROM was because I was having a hard time inputting on the screen, I would tap one place and something a quarter-inch over would be selected. And also, whenever I turned on the wi-fi, the MDA would restart. I tried hard-resetting, and it wasn't helping.. But, now it has been reflashed, everything works great.. except the random, unexplainable restart. :|

I'm having a simular problem with my G3 device.

I wanted to get rid of NBD 8.0 because it constantly was rebooting or simply shutting down. I thought it was the software so downloaded a different ROM.

Before installing this new ROM I (as usual) downgraded before upgrading (installed regular T-mobile ROM). This however didn't go to well. At about 85% it got stuck and reported an error 302. I tried recharging and different ROM's but to no aveill.
I just got of the horn with T-Mobile and they're willing to send me a new battery (free of charge).

At the moment my Wizard is in the wallcharger, none of the 5 or 6 ROM's I've tried have worked, they all stall at one point or other and the bootloader then keeps flashing on and off.

I'm hoping the new battery will work, but I'm interested in that solution you used, what did you do? How did you jumpstart your battery?

Any advise is welcome (concerning this issue of course ;) ) so HELP!?!?!

I have the battery jumpstart solution described here in the top post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321342&page=2. Hope it helps.

Did the battery solution, didn't work, I'm beginning to loose faith. I'm still waiting for the replacement battery from T-Mobile, hope that helps.

EDIT: I GOT MY NEW BATTERY, and everything works again!!!

The batt boost failed so I was without a phone for a while, got everything working again. Thanks for the assistance!
